Please take you time for this night, as 1/4 of all people left before the dinner night was actually over. Schedule about 3,5 hours for your visit. Definitely go here if you want a special night out. Von den Speisen bekommt man jeweils eine Probe an den Tisch und kann von den Dingen die einem besonders gut schmecken gerne nachbestellen. Auch, werden die Gerichte gut erklärt, beziehungsweise man kann es auf der Karte nachlesen. Die Speisen sind nicht nur aus Südafrika, sondern vom ganzen Kontinent. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Gerne angenommen wurde auch das Angebot der Gesichtsbemalung. Unten am Eingang ist eine große Tafel mit Bildern alle Mitarbeitern und aus welchen Ländern Afrikas sie stammen. Allein die Gestaltung der Räumlichkeiten ist schon sehenswert. Sollte ich wieder mal in Kapstadt sein, werde ich das Gold gerne wieder besuchen.

It's a lot of food as you can imagine from the # of courses being served. The whole decor, wardrobe, performance, and entertainment engaging the audience are quite interesting. However, it feels more theatric than authentic. If you are someone who's a traveler not a tourist who's actually keen on local cultures and history, you'll feel that this place is meant for tourists. If I may say, my experience at Waterfront was a lot of authentic, where I interacted with the Indigenous performers and donated money directly. Mojo is also a place to be when you are looking for something more contemporary.

Yes, it is touristy, but there are good and bad kinds of touristy. This is a good one. I had low expectations for food, but all the food was actually quite good and quality. It is food from all of Africa and it's unlimited (you can ask for more of anything). They didn't give me the food menu but I had steak salad, bread and minced chicken dip, chicken wings, Antelope curry, hake and shrimp curry, couscous, another salad, ice cream. The menu constantly changes. Wine list was quite extensive. Small groups of performers come by throughout your meal. Servers were kind. They even had us join them on stage for a bit of dancing which was fun. For 455R, I think it's very reasonable. It's free to reserve online and it may be a good idea, but I did see walk ins as well. Overall, great experience and I recommend it

An amazing experience. I originally booked just for the African cuisine and this place blew us away. They had a show throughout the entire evening with dances and a story line, face painting, and great food. It was nice to be able to try a little bit of everything with a 14 course meal. My sister is Vegan and they were able to accommodate her with alternatives for every tasting that was not vegan on the regular menu. I would highly recommend going!

We were at Gold for the NYE dinner during our holiday to Cape Town. It was a lovely experience as soon as we drove up to park. We were escorted indoors, greeted warmly and there was great attention to detail. We enjoyed drumming, live dance performances, an 18-dish spread and a wonderful gift as we left. They even escorted us to our car to ensure that we were safe. An amazing experience indeed!

Wow. This night was unforgetabel. Even tho it was very touristy it 100% felt so local. We loved the food and the service. Got to try so many diverse dishes which was incredible. I enjoyed the fact that you can eat food from different countries in Africa without having to go to different restaurants or a country itself. It was great that on the day they opened, they performed the Jerusalem challenge. Gold team was so energetic and happy, even though it was their 1st day at work after being home for a long time due to the Covid pandemic. I was happy with the fact that they had small paper bags on the table to put masks away while eating. They also had a sanitizer on each table. Thank you GOLD team for a voucher for two. I enjoyed myself. I will definitely be coming back with more members of my family.
