Absolutely amazing! The staff were very friendly and the pizza in a class of their own, a must for everyone who visits Cape Town or simply passing through Hout Bay. The restaurant is actively involved in a variety of animal rescue funding, which makes any animal lover feel at home. They are dog friendly and have a lovely play area for kids as well.

Loved that this restaurant is dog friendly which adds to the warm friendly ambiance. The menu is also great, catering for vegetarians and vegans with multiple options. For starters we ordered the mozzarella balls and melanzane, both were quite tasty and very cheesy. Would have liked a bit more flavor in both the dishes though. For the mains both pizza’s we ordered was really good. Love the sauce to base to cheese ratio. Bases are nice and crispy - not too thin/thick either. Very generous with their toppings and special mention of the vegetarian pizza which is a must try! (Veggies are sautéed really nicely before adding to the pizza) The spinach and ricotta lasagne was delicious but a bit disappointing as the portion size was extremely small for the price. The lasagne only has one layer (defeats the point of it being called a lasagne). It was also overwhelmingly cheesy - which was nice but once again not really what i expected from the dish. For desert we had the tiramisu, which was tasty as well but also disappointing as the cake component had a few ice crystals (probably for benign stored in a fridge too cold). It made the dish less enjoyable. Tip: chili and garlic are an on cost but really worth it because they’re both so potent. Overall verdict: Definitely coming back for the pizza, will probably give the starters and dessert a miss.

The best lemon aid hands down! They are dog friendly and even have a menu for them, love that they include the dogs. The food has generous portions but the pizza lacks flavour the beef topping was dry. Over all really pet friendly and good service.

Pizza is tasty and they're generous with their toppings. The vibe is ok, nothing special really. Its cool that we could bring our dog but then not much room in the outside seating area for him to actually walk around.

Really good pizza! Very tasty, the sauce is prime and good quality cheese. Unfortunately there wasn't tables available for us (my two boys and I) then we had to take it for the road. Next time I'm making a reservation and bringing the whole family with.

This place was suggested to me before I left for South Africa. It was the only restaurant on my list of places to go and it did not disappoint. We were given a nice table for 7 upon arrival. The atmosphere inside is nice and cozy. When the pizza first arrived we thought it would be way too much for is to eat in one sitting. But the crust is thin and crispy, so you are not filling up on just pizza crust. We finished it all. I had to try the chips as I saw they were hand cut, and we ended up getting a second order. I wish I could get pizza like this back home. I'm super happy that the recommendation was spot on and we would definately drive from CT to go here again.

Truly the greatest pizza restaurant I have ever been to. The service from the staff is excellent. They consistently make the best pizza I have ever eaten, get my order exactly right, and do it quickly. They provide a wonderful warm dinner experience. Would recommend 100%.

Highly recommenmend! Best pizza's we had around Cape Town. It was so good, that we came back a week later. The service is also good, with a great Smile. Lovely place to sit. The location is great, parking in front. Little playground for kids. Next to a supermarket.

Have been many times. Gets better and better. Great pizza, but the pasta is good, too, as are the main course specials. Beer on tap is good, if just two of them. An interesting if small wine list. Atmosphere excellent, as are the staff. Perhaps the best restaurant in Hout Bay.

A great and humble place for amazing pizzas and wonderfull staff. Not only is this a great place, they especially have a big heart and focus on community with their various programs. The #payitforward #pif pizza is just one example. We will be back tonight before I am leaving Cape Town again to go home.

Great food and fantastic service! Our puppy enjoyed his Puppaccino and his Frozen Hoof as well! The staff made an extra effort with our pup which is always comforting! I highly recommend this restaurant!!

After a unity bike get together at Llandudno for Mandela Day, we pulled in at Massimo's. Received quick service, hot coffee & lovely, thin base pizza.

Voted Best Pizzeria in Africa I thought I had to check it out. Lovely place, great vibe, top class staff, and the liquor sampling was a great cherry on the cake. The pizza is also pretty darn good!

We came in from Cape Town and it was definitely worth the trip. These guys know where to get good ingredients, and just as importantly, known how to use them. If you like artichoke, the Siciliana pizza is a game changer. Easily the best pizza I've had the pleasure of monching in what now feels like a short life waisted. Ive been on this earth for 30+years, yet that pizza has only occupied less than an hour of that time... this will need to be addressed in the near future.

I really liked Massimo's. The pizza base was perfect and the flavours fresh. The service was good and atmosphere felt relaxed. We ordered desserts (tiramisu and creme brulee) but neither were really up to the standard I would expect so will probably skip dessert next time. The tiramisu was icy in the middle and the creme brulee was very runny and the top too thick. I will visit again though and will try the pasta dishes. I'll definitely have their pizza again.

Food is excellent. I'm normally a thick crust person but I do like their crust because it's flavorful and not heavy. Their pasta dishes are excellent. Take out is the way to go because they do promote they are a family restaurant which means kids have the run of the place and they seem proud of that fact. Don't mess with the manager, he will not listen and walk away if you complain. Stick to take out.

First night in Cape Town and we chose this place because it was close to our stay and we were so happily surprised by: the delicious fresh food, the relaxed and warm vibe and the one that made us laugh and smile: Zuki! Massimo's is arguably the best Italian Restaurant in Cape Town. I have been going for about 6 years now and the quality has never faulted. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The food and the service was good. I felt that the interier was a bit cold and that they could have put the heaters on for the day.

Not kidding when I say one of the best pizzas we have had in a very long time. The only way to possibly describe the republic of bacon pizza is for you to go and try it. I can praise it as much as it deserves but it will not come close to what is experienced when dining on this gem. A definite must try for any pizza/bacon lover.

After reading about Massimos, I expected great pizza here. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case from my experience. To me it seemed like the oven temp was too low. The cheese had hardly melted. The tomato lacked seasoning too. The base just chewy. Maybe I caught them on a bad day. Great service and ambiance though.

I have to say I’m very disappointed in the cheesecake and brownie we ordered for delivery. Dry, almost rock hard and possibly old. Hard to even taste. The accompanying sauces did not help. All I can say is, I thought I knew what these desserts should be like.

I love the fact that the meals donate a small portion of what it costs to charity. Good one.

The restaurant is lovely and the service is very good and friendly too. I enjoyed the atmosphere very much and it was warm and comfortable. I was disappointed in the food. I found the base of my pizza was unfortunately soggy while the edges tasted of charcoal. The toppings were nice enough. We had a lovely evening there.

Pizza is decent. There is better pizza in CPT, so I wouldn't go there expecting the best pizza in Africa (which is what it says on the door), or even South Africa, or even CPT...

Epic Pizza, perfect venue for the whole family. There is even an outside play area for the kids. Best of all they stock Las Paletas Ice Cream.

Delicious pizza at Massimos. It is always full and has a great atmosphere inside. The staff are so friendly and nice. It is fairly expensive but worth it!

Despite the great reviews that I've read, the service was appalling. The waitron was untrained and inefficient. The tables inside were uncomfortable because of the heat. We managed to secure an outside table but then had to wait for well over an hour for the pizza to arrive. When it did, it was not fantastic with all the bases burnt on the outer edges. Whilst the outing was reasonably pleasant, I will not return.

A little hidden, but a gem! We had pizza and pasta - a Hawaiin pizza (great base, great distribution of toppings) and a mushroom and gypsy ham pasta (creamy but light and tasty). It was truly wonderful, cannot wait to return to try the gnocchi!

Their pizza and salads are fantastic. If you're a pet owner you will adore this place as they have a pet menu with the most amazing choices. There's also 2 different play areas for the kids. Great spot!

Disappointed after reading it was voted one of the best pizza restaurants in SA. Pizzas weren't crispy enough and gooey in the middle. Lacked taste too. I was dying for garlic or chili on the side which I was not offered. Wont rush back.

Lovely staff, the mushroom pasta was good, unfortunately the pizza « Porcella » was horrible, first time that I don’t finish a pizza, here a slice was enough. The cappuccino was not good as well. Anyway we had good time with this very nice service! Will try again to see if it was just a bad night!
