I loved spending my Sunday morning here. Service is phenomenal very welcoming. Great place to enjoy a peaceful breakfast and unwind under the trees. I would say they are a bit pricey expect to pay around R150 for good breakfast including coffee, would love to see move variety on their menu for but overall good experience.I’ll give you a 5😉

Very nice place to come to. The scenic atmosphere is spot on. We had such a wonderful time here, it really has such amazing vibes. The food is lovely. The food is quite pricy (in my opinion), for a plain burger and chips, R150. The restaurant is clean and staff are very friendly. A wonderful time spent.

Staff are fantastic! Sit indoors on a rainy day or outdoors in nicer weather. Food pricing is fair and everything we had was fresh and enjoyable. Can be busy over weekends. Take a walk around the Company Gardens and then enjoy lunch or tea at the restaurant after. Well worth the visit.

The Company's Garden Restaurant offers a peaceful setting for breakfast with simple, standard fare and decent service. It's a good spot if you value ambiance over culinary innovation.

A lovely park with many old trees. A coffee stop and I was just thinking about feeding the squirrels.. not 5 stars because they don’t charge 10% for service and they don’t tell u .. # please GIVE them 10% for service #

I went to SARS and afterwards wanted a cup of tea and cake, so walked up to the company gardens tea room. I love all the nature, trees, flowers and the whole atmosphere right in the middle of the city.

The company gardens gives off a "cottage in a secret garden" feel. Staff was warm and welcoming, and the food was absolutely incredible. I am obsessed with the chicken mayo sandwich. The furniture however could use some repairing or replacing and the bathroom was not clean. Other than that I was very happy and would be back for more.

This used to be a lovely spot for scones and tea but Chicken Mayonaise Sandwich is not a winner - 3 slices of Goverment Brown bread with very little filling. Worst toastie I ever had - did not pay for it but still …. Place where we have overseas guests!

We were actually just exploring and walking in Cape Town and by chance just walked into this BEAUTIFUL garden! It's a very safe garden. (With a lot of security guards) The animals are friendly, 4 squirrels came to us. The cute café is a bit pricey, but WORTH IT! We just soaked up the scenery while drinking a coffee.

Absolutely Treasure My husband and I love it here, we love the outdoor seating surrounded by nature followed by a walk in the gardens and looking for Squirrels 🤣🤣 The food is great...a few must tries on their menu : the fish and chips, the fried chicken strip with chips and the Cobb salad. Patrick is an absolute Gent, he always remembers us and so nice to other tables too.

This restaurant is lovely, family friendly with great food. Place for kids to play and it's stunning in the gardens. Price of the food is a little higher than other restaurants but not unreasonable. The only issues I saw here are for those that battle with mobility as there are stairs and it can be difficult to find parking on the road.

I live the Company's Garden because it is such a peaceful place. You come here for a walk, a picnic, to read or to just relax. There are two restaurants inside the garden which you can also enjoy a meal at. You can feed the pigeons and the squirrels. This is a great place for a family day, the children can run around the garden and enjoy sitting inside one of their beautiful huts (not sure what they are called). This is also a great place to walk your dogs. I have been to this place several times and it never gets old. You can get a great view of table mountain, lions head and signal hill. It is also a great place for a photoshoot. Capture the great moments in a natural environment.

I give restaurant a score of 1 out if 5. The scored is based on hygiene, food quality, service, pricing and portion sizes. The portion sizes are small...score 0 The pricing does not justify what you get. Very overpriced.. score 0 The service is bad. Our waiter was distracted everything I asked for I had to ask twice...Nigel...0 The food was poor. We were served stale rolls woth our burgers. When asked to please bring a fresh roll, they replaced it with a microwaved stale roll and presented it to me...at this point I had enough and asked for nothing else but the bill. ....score 0. Hygiene is good. Score 1. Would I recommend to friends and family? NO! Sadly, I will only visit the park next time....not the restaurant.

This was Banana bread French toast with bacon, strawberries, cream cheese and maple syrup! It was surprisingly so good! Great family friendly restaurant and the staff is friendly and attentive. Bear in mind to just double check beverage pricing, as they offer a small and large option, however, the scanned menu only states the small priced option.

Very peaceful, beautiful, green, well-kept park with lots of birds walking and flying around in a close proximity. There’s a cafe within the gardens for a nice meal or tea/ coffee.

Breathtaking sceneries, squirrels, birds, and fauna and flora. The amazing ponds, beautiful green, well kept lawn areas, two restaurants makes for a very interesting and exciting visit. The museum is right there if you wish to pay a visit. This is a splendid place for old and young..it feels like you are on a holiday when you lazily stroll through the gardens. Such an amazing experience.

Restaurant is located in beautiful public garden in downtown Cape Town. Comfortable restaurant with a pleasant menu. I had the curry fish cakes and soup (tomato-butternut squash ... too much tomato, not enough butternut squash). Service was friendly but a bit slow.

The pathway to the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. I had my Yorkie with me and I did read online that the restaurant is pet friendly on the outside so not sure why the waiter didn't suggest a more suitable table for the wheelchair outside, other than the one we were sat at when we arrived because it was empty. The food was very good but our waiter seemed quite rushed! We only saw the coffee shop further down with a perfectly suitable pathway for a wheelchair when we left this restaurant and evidence of pet friendliness.

Beautiful location but priced accordingly. Service was a tad on the slow side bit it was very busy when I visited. Beautiful atmosphere in the gardens and lots of outside shade. The salad was tasty and the carrot cake delectable.

A wonderful little oasis in the gardens of Cape Town. We sat outside and had coffee ( really good coffee) and breakfast. I had the basil and tomato omelet and it was delicious. Our waitress was delightful and accommodating as we had our dogs and were allowed to eat outside. We will return.

Was out for a stroll in the gardens and decided to pop in for a quick drink. Prices are too high for my liking, considering that this restaurant is located inside a free-to-enter public space managed by the local government. Prices seem to be geared at tourists rather than locals. For many locals, this establishment would be unaffordable.

The setting of the restaurant is lovely under the huge trees and it is cool in the shade. We only had drinks, so I can't comment on the food. The service was a bit slow considering they weren't excessively busy.

  • 3/5 Johan W. 2 years ago on Google
The place was a bit difficult to find, we went to the entrance with a door bell and signage, turns out their entrance is 20 meters to the left of that and says delivery 😅 the fruit juices and tea were amazingly well done🍵☕ My partner and I both ordered the egg bendedict, bacon and salmon with bread and croissant. The starch proportion came in quite hectic for a breakfast. The salmon and croissant came out amazing with the fresh baked croissant. However the bacon and bread option came out quite poorly. There doesn't seem to be a good consistency with the egg poaching. They do have a beautiful garden view, just make sure you don't come on a rainy day.

A beautiful, historical gem in the heart of Cape Town! Take a stroll down the tree-lined paths, and enjoy a coffee, pastry, or meal at one of the cute restaurants nestled within the garden. There’s a lot to explore here!

Based on previous negative reviews, not much has changed. Went there today. The table had not been cleared and cleaned from the previous seating. I had to go inside to place my order as no waiter returned after I had to ask them to clear the table, food was sub standard, expensive, dry toasted cheese and by the time it came out the melted cheese was hard, soggy phyllo pastry cup. The food took just over an hour to come out and I was no longer hungry when it came and the waiters just didn’t seem to really care that we were there. Very disappointed.

  • 3/5 jeannette w. 2 years ago on Google
Sadly, after roaming around in admiration on a lovely day we were really horrified by all the big rats running freely around the restaurant & under the tables. Our toasted sandwiches were like doorsteps with a scraping of processed cheese,no butter either & a miserable bit of tomatoe. But,service was quick and pleasant although the table was not wiped clean beforehand. No proper hygiene or antibacterial hand spray in sight. Foreigners were there as well & I hate to think what they must have experienced !

Excellent food and super friendly authentic waiters. Even on a rainy day, the fireplace and wood ceilings gives it a cozy cabin feeling. Great place for a remote working day or to take mum for a catch up. Nuts available for purchase to feed the ultra cute and personable tree squirrels, including some white albino ones!

  • 4/5 A. M. 1 year ago on Google
Was a cold afternoon but there was a roaring fire inside although we elected to sit outside due to 2 4 year olds. They had a smashing time romping in the gardens and feeding nuts to the birds. Service was attentive and excellent as was the different plates of small portion foods we 3 adults shared. Highly recommended and I would imagine a summer visit could be even better.!

Clean, beautiful, spacious and secure with all the guards roaming around on watch. One thing to note is that you can't make videos there from today onwards only take photos found that out, for security reasons. Gardens in itself very good not sure about the restaurant there haven't been there yet.

The breakfast was good and decently priced, the service was lovely, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. You would be hard pressed to find a coffee shop / restaurant with a better atmosphere. Fairy tale like play spaces for children under a canopy of shady trees in the middle of historic gardens.... Absolutely tranquil!

Incredible location obviously. Ingredients of the food tastes super fresh, but not necessarily put together in a way that makes sense. Could be a seasoning thing. Coffee is decent! Staff are so sweet and attentive. Prices aren't so bad for such a prime tourist spot

Horrible experience here. I have special dietary and health issues. The first time i was there the manager was helpful and accommodating. The second time however - the manager was extremely rude and would not accommodate my dietary and health issues that every other restaurant has. I told him his behavior was disgusting - in the sense of not accommodating for someone ill. He proceeded to shout at me. I asked him for his name and he refused and for the number of his senior. He then came to the table and shouted at me more. which i pretty much ignored. We had just received drink and then after all this we were given the bill and told to leave. No body ever kicks any body out of a restaurant but FORCING THEM TO PAY AND KICKIG THEM OUT. Its simply unheard of..... Afterwards a waitress tried to make us make peace. I said i apologizing for saying he was being disgusting - after a long time he lightly apologized for raising his voice and nothing else. We were forced to leave AND PAY. I have never come across this type of behavior. I spoke to the main manager of the place who said he will speak with the manager. He didnt return to me. I do not recommend this place!

The company Garden is amazing, its so beautiful there the Harden is well looked after with some wildlife romancing around (birds). The most beautiful view is when you sit amd you can feed the squirrels. Its like a story book.

More than I expected. The company gardens has lots of different interesting parts to explore. Feeding the animals is part of the experience. Just be careful of the pigeons coming for you if you throw them food. I'll definitely go again to enjoy it more and see the parts I missed.

The location is wonderful but the food is mediocre and overpriced. I ordered the gluten free cake which came with cream. It tasted off, but the manageress did not address it when I told her, so I paid and left. Ended up at Concept which is just across the Gardens in St John's Rd. Wonderful! Food was amazing, great menu. Reasonable prices. Free range, gluten free and vegan options available.

I joined the Cape Town Historical walk on tuesday. It was a lovely day. We had a very good informed guide. I was quite surprised to see the Gardens in such a good condition. Had not been there for some time. We ended our tour in the Gardens and I decided to have a late lunch. Also surprised at the menu. Service was very good. Overall a very nice day.

A space with so much potential. Amazing location however restaurant food is lacking. Toasted sandwiches were dry and cold. Pricing is also a little over the top (R35 for a Boss iced tea and R57 for a cheese toastie on regular store sliced bread). Used to come here often in the past and was much better. Next time will just do coffee as that was at least good.
