I had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The service was a little hit and miss, but the food and variety was exceptional. The international beers are fairly overpriced unfortunately. The sushi was some of the best I’ve ever had.

Mediocre Japanese food. Sushi is above average. This place seems to cater mainly to take away orders. Server was friendly. Rice for the katsudon was mushy and not edible. Gyoza was burnt on one side and super dry inside.

Hello there, I have provided stars for the place but, now I want to write about it. They have a lunch box which kinda includes many of their specialties. Which I do suggest you going for. This is a nice chilled place, Japanese vibe. Good environment to chill, lunch or dinner. I hope you enjoy it there

Pretty standard Japanese restaurant that offers a variety of different Japanese dishes from sushi to tempura to noodles to dons. There's a decent variety of sushi on offer, and a few choices of Japanese drinks including beers, sake and umeshu (although they didn't offer the plum unfortunately). Good for a Japanese food fix in Cape Town.

Hidden in an alley with the most unexpected beautiful greenery. The food was flavourful & the service fairly good. I came across this place on the blog listing the best dumplings in CT & they were good but not exceptional. I really enjoyed the flavour sensations in the ice cream trio. Green matcha & red bean paste was my favourite. The wasabi ice cream was surprisingly good as well.

So lovely. My only disappointment was that they had limited stock of the Asian alcohol, only warm saki, and it was a hot day, so no, thank you. The food was amazing. Our waiter had a good understanding of the menu and could explain differences in things for us. It was super yum and will definitely go back!

Wow. Japanese Curry. Eel Nigiri. Yakitori Grilled Skewers. I still can't decide which one I enjoyed the most. Wasabi Ice cream was surprisingly delicious as well. Asahi beer was really nice. Great service! Great decor! Thanks again for allowing me to record🙏🏽

What a disappointment! Apart from being annoyed at battling to find the entrance (which incidentally is through the alley looking like the entrance to Vasco da Gama Taverna), I was excited to see soft shell crab on the menu. I was there to try the ramen of after all. So I ordered both. I am uncertain which disappointed more; the soft shell crab tasted like something warmed up in a microwave - not crispy at all - accompanied by what could only be described as a misplaced sad looking thousand island dressing. The tonkatsu pork ramen was a soggy mess of previously frozen everything! The plain hard boiled egg was the final insult to this already injured meal - would it honestly kill the chef to put in the little bit of extra effort to marinate the egg first? Considering the other ramen options in town, this was a complete and utter miss for me!

We had a very enjoyable lunch here. Its relaxed with a wide variety of sushi and other Japanese dishes that were all very good. I’d say the prices were moderate for the quality and everyone was pleased. A great place for a larger group and they offer both inside and outside seating.

Ramen was delicious and nice atmosphere, but they used some weird part of the chicken which was very gristly.

I absolutely love the cosy atmosphere that goes well with the delicious food. The price is well worth the portion size and taste of food! Would recommend to anyone looking for a new and tasty experience

Ignoring the Asian decor, the tables and chairs made me feel like I was in a lower main road observatory restaurant. The crockery looks beautiful, feels bespoke. Menu has lots to choose from and we started with the 10 piece tempura veg which was light and crispy, I'd recommend. Hubby had the shoyu (soy) pork ramen which was a clear dark salty broth, I had the tonkatsu (pork) pork ramen which was creamy and had more flavor. Both broths had a definite mushroom side profile. Don't expect the traditional slice of slow cooked pork, you get 4 bites of flash boiled pork rolled around a carrot and green bean. Not horrible at all but not traditional. The veg in the broth was crispy. The noodles a good texture but reminded me of linguine pasta. Overall I enjoyed myself tonight.

Fantastic sushi, and the soft shell crab is definitely their hero dish! 🦀
