Amazing food!!!! There are no words to describe the amazing food at this joint. You have so mamy varieties to choose from, China town, to Indian. And not expensive at all, meals varying from R50 to R80 and huge portions. We come here monthly about two times. And always bring friends. I recommend to EVERYONE I know. Keep up the hard work.

Honestly the worst food we've had during our entire time in Cape Town. All I can say is bland, bland and bland. A definite no go if you used to a Durban curry/flavour. The guy was kind enough to let us taste the curries before ordering and they were truly awful (lamb roghan gosh, chicken Tikka and butter chicken). We ended up going with the lamb mince pizza, chicken cheese masala dosa, chicken fried rice and chicken biriyani served with dhall. None were terrible but they were so bland we only had a few mouthfuls before packing up takeaways. Hoping we can repurpose the leftovers to add more flavour.

One place you simply shouldn’t miss when visiting the Mother City is the Eastern Food Bazaar. One entrance is situated on Darling Street and the other on Longmarket Street. This is a 100% Halaal establishment, which has its fair amount of daily customers. This is truly where the locals eat. In this ‘food Open valley’ you’ll find delicious Eastern meals, from Turkish and Chinese to Indian food. And the best part? It is fantastic value for money. You get massive, tasty meals, which taste authentically eastern, for between R25 to R45. The main thing people come for are the curries. Which are all incredibly flavourful. From creamy Butter Chicken to delicious Lamb Rojan Josh, you definitely won’t go home hungry. The dish that I eat regularly is the above, the creamy Butter Chicken. That is R35 for a curry, a huge pile of rice, slaw and lentils. They definitely don’t skimp on anything in this place. Open 7 days a week, this is a food lovers mecca one simply must visit when in Cape Town.

Seems like an Indian food market, but a whole lot of a variety of food... e.g lots of curry options... You can eat in, there is a space to sit (not so big though when crowded), you can also have a take away. The portions are big, you can pay either with card or hard cash. The price range is from R50 to R90, there are drinks and water as well (obviously they gonna be a bit more than usual). At the end there is an ice cream stall as well, they also allow tasting before buying. I enjoyed the food to be honest... You should check it out, now that you read this.

If you are looking for Indian heritage food place then this is right spot for you. A good selection of typical Indian Halal foods. Although management needs to improve the facility more as I used to come here and it’s change a lot within time. Dessert menu is very limited.

Always such a treat to frequent this unique culinary alley in Cape Town... Upon entering Eastern food bazaar, you instantly swept to another continent.. vibrant colors, Eastern music and boquette of fragrant spices adorn your senses ... offers a wide variety mouth watering Eastern food choices...servers, eagerly awaiting to take your order. Portions are healthy, freshly made and never disappoint... This establishment should NEVER be missed .. even if you not into spicy foods....

Eastern Bazaar is one of my favourite gems 💎 in Cape Town City centre. At this bustling halaal canteen-style restaurant, you can enjoy a genuine Cape Town experience. Behind multiple counters, the entire spice spectrum from Bombay to the Bo-Kaap is covered and deliciously so, with meals ranging from Turkish kebabs to Cape-style biryanis, creamy North Indian curries, and authentic tandoor specialties. It's important to try the many savory appetizers, such stuffed puri. Vegetarians have many options. The perfect place to eat when you’re on a budget. I’d recommend their butter chicken curry and Bombay crush (Falooda). Kids love their pizza 🍕 I enjoy a chicken cheese dosa as well. You won’t be disappointed

Love the variety here. The place could do with more air-conditioning. The pizza needs more salt but I enjoy the food here and the atmosphere.

This place is a whole vibe. Massive portions of food (either share or take away - you won’t eat it all there), for around R70 to R120/meal. Chinese, Indian, Turkish … and an icecream stall at the end :) I highly recommend the cheese dosa. And taking an Uber so you don’t have to worry about parking.

I love curry and if tou like it as much as I do and you are willing to be open to a completely different experience, pay them a visit they are extremely busy over lunchtime so go early. You order your food at a central location and after you pay you go to that specific vendor and wait your turn

The butter chicken & shwarmas are always a hit! I love the Dahl that comes with the curries. Honestly one of my fave places to get food from. Big portions at affordable prices.

If you end up visiting this place on a fairly busy day then you will notice and appreciate the beautiful indian wooden art on the wall which tends to get lost between the crowd on a busy day. With Bollywood music banging and chefs preparing the meals in front of their customers, this sure is a place to visit. There is a variety of eastern food to taste, from shawarma to butter chicken, Chinese to Madrasi, a lot to choose from. Ice creams, bombay crush, lassi and some indian desserts. The naan bread is nice, however, I was not a fan of the quality of the food and the meat. All I can say is, it was affordable.

Best place for foodie.. One stop shop for all the variety of Indian, Turkish, Indo.Chinese and a lot of food is available.. Very hygienic and clean process of making food in a live open kitchen counters.. Each meal comes with a good quantity, quality at the best price compared to the local market. Serving all halal meat confirmed by staff which makes it convenient and best choice. Must try Tikka's, Dosa's, felafel and Shawarma.. I really appreciate the team, management and staffs.. keep up the good work... 😊👏

This place is unbelievable and unbeatable.. If someone is cribbing to eat Indian, i would say u cant find a better place than this.. As i was here in Cape-town for few days when a local friend advised me to try this place and now i know why.. the menu has everything one needs and the taste was unexpected.. Also the locals having the counter and serving food are pretty friendly and nice.. dont miss out if you visit Cape town..

I had the chicken pizza with pineapple and the lamb roti wrap with chips The pizza was good, a lot has changed since the last time I was here they only allow one of each sauce per customer now so you can't ask for more, why don't they sell it if a customer wants more? First time trying the lamb out as I usually have chicken and I've never been disappointed, the lamb was not very nice it was crunchy due to being left in the warm rotacery at the bottom so then it becomes crispy and overcooked, Not really happy with this experience, Anyone just walks to the toilet upstairs as well.

Stay away if your into vegetarian curry - they advertise Palak Paneer on their menu but its 'never' in stock - this evening there was no veg curry, no veg breyani and no paneer makhane hence no veg option for curry whatsoever. They generally have a great atmosphere and big portions with lots of other options - just so disappointing when they don't =(

This place is good and it have various types of food (Indian food specifically).. the food I got was not as per my expectations hence the 4 stars in overall.. but it's a really nice place with nice food too. I would recommend to check it out..

There are so many different types of food to chose from. We have been coming here for so many years to enjoy their food. Their food is amazing. But there are a few negatives in my opinion. Despite there being seating upstairs as well, there were many times that we went to Eastern Food Bazaar and there were no seats for us. Secondly the music plays so loud that you literally have to raise your voice to be heard. The noise sometimes becomes overwhelming. Finding parking is a major problem and it’s quite scary having to park your car far away and walk to the restaurant. Lastly are the vagrants outside which is probably the biggest problem. They do not take no for an answer and if you do not have any money on you, they really make you feel intimidated. Luckily if the problem is too bad then you can always go to Food-in 👌
