Lovely classic eatery with a solid history behind it. Visited for dinner and we ordered the seafood risotto, gnocchi for mains and fried squid for starters. Really enjoyed the food, especially the main dishes which were full of distinct flavour and equally delicious. Also loved the rustic interior.

We had a decent experience, but this was ruined by our waiter disappearing after we asked for the bill. The food was average, my ostrich steak was too salty and the people I was with were also underwhelmed by their food. The food was not authentically Italian, the sauces tasted like it came from the can. In terms of the bill, I eventually had to get up and try sort out payment as we still need to drive back late at night.

Exceptional food and great service. The ceviché was beautiful, fresh and acidic. Serving it in a top heavy martini glass makes it difficult to eat with a spoon. A bowl would be more practical and attractive. The langostine salad was the highlight. The cheff agreed to prepare an off the menu dish. Perfectly grilled with a smokey sweet soy and sesame sauce that would have me eat the rocket alone as a main. The tuna sashimi had a complex, yet light soy sauce with hints of citrus. The tempura calamari was light and slightly spicy, with a lingering kick. The delicate lobster portions were served on a bed of vegetables. The sauce resembled a rich and creamy bisque, BUT way way too salty! All in, exceptional food at prices that punch approx 10 - 15% above it's weight. I would add a 5th star if the clinical 90's style dark stained tables get some form of "window dressing" and a deep clean.

This place has a lot going for it, but also a few things that can be improved. The staff were all very friendly and did such a great job helping our kids make their own pizzas. That was quite a highlight for them and it was lovely to see how attentive and caring the staff were towards that. 5 stars for that. The food was satisfactory, as were the milkshakes. The creme brûlée was definitely the star of the day and made quite the impression. Unfortunately it was disappointing that they didn’t have alternative options for payments with regards to loadshedding. That dampened our evening a bit. The food and drinks also took a very long time to arrive which was disappointing considering that the waitress was so friendly and attentive once the food had arrived. That can definitely be improved. Overall it’s got a lovely atmosphere but I wouldn’t recommend it for kids under 5.

I have been to Cafe Paradiso a number of times over the years, and especially during the time that we took my young son to the restaurant. It provides suitable spacing for families with young kids, and has a stunning exterior as it does the interior. In summer (or even sunny winter days), the view of Table Mountain as a backdrop is superb. There is a light bustle around the area as it is near the top of Kloof Street, but still it has a nice ambience to it, almost rustic. The foot was really good, slightly overpriced (but what isnt these days), but the quality and freshness were exquisite. I highly recommend it, especially for an early lunch, or midday brunch for that familiar Cape Town Sunday early morning timeouts.

I went to the restaurant a few months ago (July) and unfortunately it was the worst tasting food I have had in my 6 years in Cape Town (and maybe my life). Had their ravioli and for the first time in my life I couldn't eat more than three bites of the food, I can't find words to describe except that it tasted very similar to vomit. My friend had a gyro open sandwich which was very bland and couldn't eat more than 2 bites. The service was, non-existent - we walked into the restaurant at around 11:30am and besides us, there was only one diner there - but we stood around awkwardly for a solid 5 minutes before one of the waiters decided to come and seat us. The waiter did not check up on us once during our meal and took 15mins to just get us the bill. Again by the time we left there was only 2 other tables (both of which were single diners)

It was our first time visiting Cafe Paradiso. We made a booking for 9.30. When we arrived we got to sit on the balcony, which had a beautiful view. I made us of the restroom, which needed some love and attention. Majority of the plants in the bathroom were dead and the door could do with some paint and some dusting. Waited 15min before my husband asked a waiter if we could order our drinks. I ordered a Avo Toast and my husband the Eggs Benedict with bacon. Service was a bit slow, but the food was a generous portion and delicious. We enjoyed our experience, but I do think the place could do with some renovation. Stunning view.

We visited Cafe Paradiso for dinner because we’d heard such good things. Unfortunately our experience did not reflect what we’d heard. Our waiter was very unfriendly & unaccommodating. The restaurant really is a beautiful place but there was no atmosphere, the music was playing so softly that at times we couldn’t hear anything. Our food was good and well presented but that’s the only positive I can point out. I’m glad I came with great company or it wouldn’t have been an enjoyable experience at all. For what you’re paying for your drinks & meal, you’re better off elsewhere. A real pity as it’s a lovely venue but I can’t say we’ll be back

Compared to other Nobu restaurants around the world, our evening in Nobu Cape Town was very disappointing. Very uncreative processing of average quality products. Also compared to other restaurants in Cape Town, where you can eat really great, Nobu was really not good. Definitely also completely overpriced.

Style, class, cuisine and fine dine at its best! Its an experience. No words can describe it. Maybe it was just a perfect day... maybe it turned into a perfect day after this experience. Stunning setting and the service is immaculate!!! Thank you Nobu.

If you looking to waste your money -- go to Nobu If you looking for amazing food -- dont go to Nobu. Go anywhere else Honestly the food is horrible and over priced, I was highly disappointed. Allot of the things on the menu was out of stock. Waiter recommended horrible items too, and the menu did not make sense. Wonderful setting but thats as wonderful as it gets... Worst food I have ever tasted.

Had a lovely time at this beautiful restaurant. The weather was amazing so it made for the perfect outdoor dining, chilling and drinking experience. Service was a bit slow but the staff were amazing. Linda helped us for the most part and was really efficient, kind and friendly. Melissa, the Manager was also really great, so friendly and really really nice. She also helped us where needed and was extremely attentive to our needs. The food was delicious too. Everything was really great. Perfect for indoor or outdoor dining.

Food was excellent but the service was terrible. We booked an outside table for 11:00 am and was seated in the sun. We requested a table in the shade as it was very hot. Every time we wanted to order we had to look for our waiter and wait for him to arrive. We eventually were seated at a table that was reservee for 13:00pm. If the service was good we would have been finished long before 13:00pm. 12:50 pm we were rudely imterrupted by Justin to say that the guests have arrived for the table. We were just waiting for dessert to arrive. We requested Justin to move somewhere else to enjoy the desert. HIS RESPONSE: ALL THE GUESTS ARE NOW ARRIVING. He also asked our waiter, sort the customers out. Very unproffesional. We got up paid for what we had and left. By that time there were still tables open outside. My opinion is that the sitiation was dealt with poorly and we will not be back.

Homey vibe. Unfortunately menu a little limited. Our waitress, Eve provided a 5 star service. Dinner portions were generous, but beverages were exceptionally small

Out of this world. If you have not been there then you have not eaten in Cape Town. Buttermilk chicken burger best so far I tasted. Service atmosphere venue great place to be. Went there on the 12th Feb at 1pm 5 of us for lunch. We enjoyed so much only left a 6pm. My wife and I went again the next day 13th to have the sushi crunch and Cajun calamari salad for dinner. Surprisingly we going to have our Valentine’s Day also there. So you see we are hook at Cafe Paradiso. Go there now you wasting time. Make reservations because they are always full.

My favorite place in Cape Town for dinner. The terrace is unique. I enjoyed the fried sushi and the ostrich. The malva pudding was rich and fruity.

This was our third and definitely last visit to Cafe Paradiso. During our former 2 visits we already noted that the service was slow and not very friendly. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that cleanliness was not a top priority. The worn-out and threadbare tablecloths did little to enhance the ambiance, giving the entire place a shabby feel. We sat next to a hedge under which was garbage. Overall it was not well-kept. The lack of friendliness from the staff further dampened our experience. Perhaps the most frustrating part of the evening was the very long wait for our drinks. I caught the servers attention in the hope that she would remember our drinks, but that was not the case. A waiter walked by our table and didn't notice that it was empty. Nearly 30 minutes elapsed before the food was served and we still had no drinks. Given the cumulative disappointments, we decided to cut our losses. Just as we were leaving they were going to serve the food, but that we would have eaten without drinks. Cafe Paradiso would benefit greatly from some much-needed improvements to regain the trust and satisfaction of its patrons. I am giving 2 stars as the food looked good.

Nobu restaurant was a total disappointment. Food was poor, service was mediocre and actually I have had better experiences in all you can eat sushi places. The location of the restaurant is special. Unfortunately, that is the only thing that is special. You actually managed to make oysters taste bad. That is nearly impossible. Besides the poor quality of food, we were poorly advised on the quantity of the food, although we asked several times. We ended up with getting 5 dishes served in 15 minutes. Which gave it a fastfood vibe, not star quality sushi. There are really good restaurants in Cape Town. Also really good sushi restaurants. Just avoid Nobu.

A pleasant evening Spoilt by bad food. It ended with both my husband and son suffering severe diarrhea. When one goes to a 5 star establishment one does not expect this!

A phenomenal experience. Staff seemed well trained and professional. All the food was tasty and perfectly prepared. I had a serving of pork belly that was too dry but it was replaced with a smile and perfect the second time round. The dessert was by far my favorite. I had 3 different desserts and will definitely be leaving more space for more in the future. Thank you for the wonderful experience Nobu!

Terrible experience!! Will never recommend this to anyone EVER! The place is so overpriced and the food is not even tasty. The food is horrible and we cancelled one order and the waiter still brought it and we had to pay for it. A bottle of water is even overpriced-R100 for one bottle. I wish I would get my money back. I am so sad and this ruined my mood completely.

I wouldn’t even give this restaurant any stars. It is simply awful starting with the highly-priced food to the extremely little food. Please do not waste your money on this place. So we looked at the menu and saw the prices and for the prices we expected that the food would be exceptional and portions would be large but it was horrible. The sushi wasn’t even tasty. I mean they charge R50 extra just to cut the sushi. To slice 6 pieces of sushi i had to pay extra. We ordered the seabass for R700 which firstly is highly priced for a South African fine dining restaurant. The seabass was stale and wasn’t even plated beautifully. It was not even accompanied with sides. It wasn’t even a big piece of fish. The broccoli was steamed and just given to me with a sauce for a high price. I canceled one of the plates but the waiter still brought it to my table. I ate one bite of my handroll sushi and I looked down and my handroll sushi was finished. I dunno if this is a restaurant or they are in the stealing business with high prices and empty plates. I paid R2200 and we were not even filled after eating . We had to order food at our hotel. Never get ripped off at this restaurant. I complained to the manager and they only said sorry but an apology isn’t good enough for money i spent. We hardly ordered any food. And paid a super high price.

We ordered a tasting menu and delivered the dish without presenting it, came two dishes at the same time when we just ate each other it was cold. Everything to be good, but the service ends with charm.

Nobu used to be my favorite restaurant. Especially the one in Cape Town. Unfortunately it is just not the same high quality. The service and response is slow ( not our direct waiter) and the appearance of the restaurant is poor as there are stains on the floor, seats and such. The only thing saving them is that the food, which was great ! If you are in Cape Town save your money and not far from this place you will get incredible sea food.

Paradiso has been my go-to restaurant for years. The vibe is perfect for date night but also understed enough for a family dinner / celebration. Crucially, the food and service is always on point. I've yet to have a bad meal, and the menu is broad enough to cater to most dietary restrictions (and budgets!).

We waited extremely long for our food. In fairness we were a big party but people that ordered last at table got there food first. Some guest even left because it took to long and cancelled. The waiters excuse was that they ordered separately. What was very anmotimg was the fact that we landed up paying for three cuppachinos that somebody else had ordered and when we approached him he was adamant that it was someone's Left a nasty taste was rather disappointed even though we saw him present bills to all parties leaving. Do feel he was taking a chance I come from this industry myself and this could have been easily resolved without embarrassing the guest.

We were so excited to visit Nobu coming from the US where this restaurant certainly has a reputation in New York City. Well I don’t feel like it lives up to the New York City location, we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We ordered a few tuna tacos, six different sushi plates and dessert! It is located inside the one and only hotel which is beautiful to see!
