I love BOOTLEGGER and their menu is great my favorite one is the greenpoint one. I only gave it 3 stars because of my last experiences this particular one, wasn't very pleasant honestly. When I'm in the area I always make sure I have my breakfast here. That morning I had an appointment at the police station with the Sergeant and the meeting finished quicker than I thought. So I had time to kill before work. This last time I was racially profiled, that was my horrible experience. The servers were indicating to the hostess to not seat me in their section. Don't know why, but that hurt. Anyway I sat down and the server got annoyed I was seated by his section. He came over and was like, are you gonna order food? Just like that. No introduction, no greeting just annoyed. I brushed that off. I ordered my favorite Salmon Benedict, he was shocked that I knew what that was. Anyway I watched my netlfix series and tried to make conversation with him as he kept coming over. Got my food, my hollandaise was all over the plate, it was too runny but I didn't say anything to return it. I just mentioned it to the server that's all, so he can tell the chefs to watch it maybe it split, you know. Server only became nice to me when I gave him a R40 tip. Soooo sad what this country has come down to. Racial profiling and judging the book by its cover is not on. Anyway the servers name is KEEGAN. Was quite only disappointed at my last experience here.

Went for breakfast today with my partner. I have honestly never experienced such a welcoming environment. The two female waitresses ( didn’t get their names ) were so friendly and welcoming. They literally made you feel at home and held a proper conversation with you that was not forced or fake!! I would highly recommend and will definitely go back 😀

I had the chicken strips for lunch... the potion was nice and feeling as it comes with a potion of chips. I would recommend the chicken strips delish 👌 . I would also recommend trying their dirt Chai, it the best

Pancakes with bacon for breakfast was spectacular! My wife says the coffee was perfect. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. A fabulous way to start our day off in the city. 😎

It was a perfect cortado, I loved it, also brownie delicious, it deserved.

Bootleggers Harrington street during a power outage on Thursday. Me: "Please could I have a ham and cheese sandwich?" Assistant "no because we can't toast it!" Me "I don't want it toasted, just butter bread and put ham and cheese on just like a sandwich". Assistant : " no we can't do that because the ham is in the fridge and it's cold" .... Remember it was 37 degrees so the least one would expect is that the ham is kept cold. I got the distinct feeling that they couldn't be bothered ... they were all standing around and having a natter. So left them to their chatting and having a little social and went up the road to Vida. Get to Vida. Me "please could I have a ham and cheese sandwich?" Vida "Sure no problem at all" That says it all.

Great service, efficient, friendly and welcoming staff. We popped in for a coffee and were very happy with the quality and fast service. Will definitely be back to try the menu in the near future.

Fantastic chill spot after an awesome hike. Many active people come here after a good morning cycle or hike. Food is on another level, seriously get what you pay for!

Big thank you to the staff for delivering my lunch to me today. Really appreciated that. They were under pressure with orders and I wasn't able to wait. Rather than letting me cancel or go hungry, they took my address and brought my lunch to the office building I was in.

Harrington Street branch. Appalling service. Food (a toasted cheese sandwich)never arrived at all. After 25 minutes I left my seat to find the manager. He told me my order was sent to another table. No apology. And made me pay for my coffee. This guy has no people skills at all. He simply couldn't care less. Never again. In the absence of a decent response to this, i will comment on social media.

The experience was very bad! Horrible oats that was watery, not tasty at all. I sent it back. No one came to ask if I would like to order something else. Waiting staff stands around talking to each other- knows nothing about hospitality or how to serve customers in a restaurant/coffee shop. I will go to Truth round the corner for decent service and food

Could the manager please order soya milk? You can't make foam with oat or almond. Woolworths have soya and the heads on their lattes are amazing.

Fantastic food and coffee, great service, and free WiFi. During the week there's usually plenty of space (busy but not packed). Definitely one of the best places for lunch in the area.

Open, yet cozy, place with relax and good service. Cappuccino is nice. The avo/humus breakfast on ciabatta bread is tasty (small portion) and the banana bread is sweet and addictive (big portion). Juice 6 is deliciously fresh. So yeah, go for it!

A fly in my morning coffee, a stale croissant and normal milk when I had ordered oat milk. Worst Bootleggers I’ve ever been to. I definitely wont be back. #morningruined

Convenient location in town for anyone who works close by or does not mind a short walk on a nice day. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food and beverages are great too. There is inside seating with the option of sitting by the very large on street windows. Parking is limited so I would recommend walking there if possible during the week. They have snapscan to pay.
