Had a really amazing ride last weekend, my first time. It was the day after my wife's birthday so her ride was free (take your ID along) and they had a holiday special as well so much 2 kids were free. So I just had to pay for my ticket. Staff are efficient and friendly. Ride was actually longer than I expected.

Excellent experience. The beauty of the V&A can be seen in all its glory. On a clear day you can see the peninsula perfectly. Recommend you also have a look and the photos they take. The photos are value for money. If you are South African bring your ID documents to get the "local" rate. It is much cheaper. Staff are very helpful and friendly. If you are sensitive to motion, on a windy day the little cubicle can sway a little. Take care. Well performaning air conditioning in the cubicle.

I captured awesome pictures from the wheel the next day when it wasn’t misty. The ride costs R160 for about 12 minute spin. The cashiers were kind enough to answer all the questions I had and to give proper advice. If you want to capture great stills then this is worth it

It’s like being in a smooth, fancy car - the wheel ride is safe and comfortable. The views are spectacular and we enjoyed about six revolutions before off-boarding onto dry land. We really loved it. The best part was watching the seagulls swimming in the nearby pool - amazing how they just take over and frolic like there’s no tomorrow. Just lovely.

The CapeWheel is a fun wheel 🛞 to go on when you visit V&A Waterfront in Capetown. It is fun, enjoyable and very relaxing. You can see the entire waterfront front the top of the capewheel 🛞. It is an experience of a lifetime and worth going on. Although it is a little more pricee for foreigners than the South African 🇿🇦 citizens by about R 75, it is totally worth it.

Besides being in a helicopter 🚁 , this is probably the best birds eye view you can get of the harbour!! Love how safe and clean the air conditioned cabins are, they’re beautifully crafted glass boxes. The VIP box allows for uninterrupted panoramic photos and the dark tinted glass helps with the glare from the sun ☀️ If you are a professional photographer then I’d opt for VIP 🎡 Not even rough winds would make me question the stability of the wheel. Staff are always friendly! I was at the wheel during the pandemic, and really respect their company policy around hygiene and customer safety. Each and every cabin was wiped spotless before a new customer could be seated. I hope they keep investing in staff training to uphold their high germ free standards 🦠 ✅ Last year June, just before they deconstructed it and moved it to breakwater. So feel blessed to have been there to witness the final rides. The new spot gives you 360 degree views of the waters edge, Table Mountain and lions head ⛰ I’m hoping to catch sight of the dolphins 🐬 at breakwater on my next trip on the wheel!

It’s a nice activity you may do at waterfront. Admission fees is 250R for a person. Every family is situated in a separate cart. The wheel does 5 spins in total and it pauses during the first spin to give a chance for passengers to take pictures for the amazing beach and all attractions around. The game is safe and harmless and I would recommend not to miss it out!

Great views of the V&A Waterfront and the ocean. Obviously meant for tourists but it is breathtaking to see irrespective. Offers a different perspective of the vibrant Cape Town atmosphere. Cabin was air-conditioned and clean. Check Google for busy times but it wasn't a long wait and it was a weekend, in December! I suppose it will get busier in peak season. One star removed for pricing.

These cubicles have air conditioning inside, and one feels secure as well. It allows you to take beautiful pictures over the waterfront and ocean from there and is certainly a very nice experience.

The Cape Wheel offers quite a bit in terms of fun. The carriage allows for four passengers. Whether it be with family or friends, it's ideal for everyone. Moving onto the couples, you have your VIP carriage too. I highly recommend going during the day, allowing you and others to enjoy the magnificent views of the Mother City. The Cape Wheel is beautifully lit in the evenings. It can be seen from a distance. It stops right at the top allowing you the opportunity to view the sights. It can sway while you're in the air. However, it is perfectly safe.

My friend surprised me with a little trip on the The Cape Wheel before we went for dinner and it was great. It is the first time I actually went on one of these things as I prefer to keep my feet on the ground. I was very surprised by just how much I enjoyed it and was able to get a couple of nice photos. Everything was clean and all covid regulations were adhered to. The personal where also very friendly and efficient.

We loved going here! A great way to see the city from a different angle. We went as a birthday treat, and because of the birthday special and my toddlers being under 4, we only paid for two people and four could go for free. There was only one group in front of us at the ticket booth, and barely any wait to climb on. The wheel stopped while we were at the top, allowing for great photos.

Beautiful experience viewing CT from the top. There’s options to have your photo taken prior to starting off and printed while you’re at the top. Overall a stunning experience

Lines at the Cape Wheel were organised and fast-moving. Social distancing and sanitising is observed well. Staff are friendly, helpful and super energetic. The views are beautiful and the atmosphere really festive. It is a costly option for many activities, but still worth a visit. The only downside: traffic and parking. Budget an extra 30min at least into your arrival and 15 into your departure time if you have other things to get to. The marimba band is awesome.

It`s actually a hot spot and an eye catcher at the Waterfront, but not a must do attraction perhaps a should have been done. I did it once at night.

My grandchildren and I had an awesome 12 minute ride on The Cape Wheel. Especially the youngest one who is 2 1/2 years old. It was her first time. She was in awe of the scenery and how far below small cars and people were. She was fascinated with the BIG ships on the sea lol!! A great experience for us all. Thank you. ps Please change the location on Google maps. It took us to the old venue!!

I went up the Cape Wheel today. The service is excellent, staff friendly and each unit was sanitized prior to us boarding. The actual ride is nice and the views of the V&A Waterfront at sunset are stunning. I also purchased the photo taken before boarding which is a nice keepsake.

The ride is pretty pricey especially for locals who are already cash strapped. However the wheel offers fantastic views of the V & A Waterfront, Table Mountain and the Cape Town Stadium. But still, a fairly average experience and I would mostly recommend it for tourists. For the price paid, especially for locals, I don’t feel it was worth it as the ride is a bit short. They also sell a photo package afterwards which most people didn’t take because the ride was already so expensive.

Saving tip. If you a South African you can do this ride free on your birthday. A must try around sunset for the views across the ocean to one side and across the stadium and mountain on the opposite side

This is a great way to view the city of Cape Town. In Covid times, I must mention that all booths are sanitized, and we felt safer just realizing this! Well done!

Absolutely terrified of heights! But I barely noticed how high I was. A full 360 view of the beautiful mother city. Friendly staff. You go around enough times to see all that there is to see.

Wonderful to see the Waterfront and surroundings from the top. 1. View of the South Easter wind coming over Table Mountain or as its known as "The Table Cloth" covering the Mountain. 2. Table Bay, a working harbour. 3. One the entrances to the V&A Waterfront Mall. 4. The SA Agulhas berthing at the V&A Waterfront.

A wonderful view of V & A amongs other things . Amazing experience and comfortable ride suitable for all ages affordable aswell. Friendly and helpful staff they take pic of you and your crew or family before the ride and you have the option to buy it after your ride. A ride is approximately 15 - 20 min A must visit at least once for every south African

There was no wait at all when buying tickets (prices vary depending on if you're local or international); however, maybe my going on a weekday (Thurs) affected this. The only wait there was, was for about 8 mins as the previously boarded passengers were wrapping up their ride and getting off. The staff were nice and informative. You get a car all to yourself or with the people you came with and the ride lasts for about 12 mins (as advised by the staff). It was a beautiful and different way to view the mother city; stunning 360 views once you get to the very top.

If you ever want to experience a completely awesome "touristy" thing. This is for you. The first time we went there, there was loadshedding so we could not purchase our tickets but the lady was super nice. We went in the evening at around 6pm. It was packed but the lines went quickly and we enjoyed ourselves. Loved being able to take pictures of the sunset and Table Mountain. Up to 8 can use the gondola and it's clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

A pleasant, calm ride. Only 40m up in the sky, not too bad. You get a lovely view of the harbour and Table Mountain.

A bit pricey but a really nice thing for the family on holiday or even capetownians themself get above the city and see it all aboce the city .A spectacular view of the one and only table mountain the whole of the V&A waterfront so quick sticks desire on a resturant that high but if you have a fear of heights please be weary.

Great service, great city views, but besides that there is nothing more to it. It is a bit pricey for juts being elated to sky and back.

The area is neat and the staffs are nice. The chairs are cleaned once anybody comes down before the next person goes in. From the uppermost part you can see the water very clearly. The experience was nice. There are VIP too though it’s a bit expensive. Overall the experience was nice worth it

This is a great way to get an elevated view of the waterfront. It's not the best view of cape town from the wheel, I would rather go to the top of lions head or table mountain. If you've never been on a giant wheel then give it a try. It's something you can comfortably do with the entire family.
