Another free activity in Cape Town. Lovely park to walk an enjoy the scenery. Take your time to read all the display boards and take in all the interesting facts. Beautiful spots inside the park to set up for a birthday party as well and new playgrounds being set up to add to the existing ones. Really well maintained and a must see in Cape Town. A small restuarant for a quick snack or ice cream.

I haven't been at the urban park in over 3 years and what a pleasant surprise awaited me. The lush, green lawns, the magnificent site of our mountain, the beautiful trees that provide shade for everyone, the busy, lots-to-do park, the bio walk, the ponds, the fish... Can't wait to go back, chill and take in everything.

The best place for exploration and fun for my soon to be 4 year old granddaughter! I just loved observing her while she explored the water and traipsing around the play area. Lots of shaded areas allowing for social distancing! She just loved the swings and spent more than one hour in it! The lovely picnic tables in the 1 to 6 year old area provides for lovely moments shared whilst having a snack! Then off to the swings it is again! The ponds are amazing too with all the fish and ducks! I enjoyed watching the children attempting to capture some of the fish using coffee cups or bottles...

Definitely a "Big 5 stars" for this one! Free to enter and fun activities for the whole family. I do not think there is a way to review this place. It is worth a visit as there are endless things to be done. From outdoor activities, walking the dogs, running, cycling, ball activities, exercise, play park, sprinklers for the kids, picnic spots and fish in the pond. Gosh what a mouthful of stuff to do in one spot. You would literally need a full day to enjoy this spot with family/friends as a few minutes would feel like seconds.

Popular area. Lots of space and nature in the city. The running water and the lakes seems to attract lots of birds. It is also educational and some effort has been made to provide historical and scientific information. Very therapeutic for the soul.

When its hot even the animals got to get cool. Lovely park in the centre of Cape Town to get out for a stroll. There is a outdoor gym area, well work out area. Not my thing. But coffee from the restaurant and a stroll by the pond is my thing. Nice place to enjoy. Good security around as well.

This park is very nice. It’s so green and lush and perfect for a picnic on a beautiful summer day. I love going here with friends. If you do go to this park, look out for the ducks πŸ¦† πŸ¦† πŸ¦†swimming in the pond, they are so cute ☺️!! This park also has a beautiful view of the mountains, an educational biodiversity garden and a great view of the Green Point stadium 🏟.

Everything was wonderful. The sights around the area was beautiful, like the lake. I do suggest going early before 10am because the park is hard to get and going around 14 00pm is a bad choice because the park is overcrowded. The peaceful morning better then a overcrowded afternoon. Can deliver food when you there. (Just be careful of the big flies that bite is painful)

Beautiful park. Lots of entertainment for all ages. Some outdoor gym, cafe, big grounds to play, soccer and beach volley. A nice cafe and beautiful views over signal hill and lions head. You could spend all day here.

Great place to go for a walk or a run. Dogs allowed on leash except in the dedicated dog play area. Watering points for people as well as for dogs.

Visited the park with my kiddies | To be honest i was scared visiting the park alone with my kids but i was soon surrounded with caring people who loves to keep the park clean and to make sure everyone is safe in the park and then i had a lovely time. Parking around the park can be tough, so go nice and early to assure you get some good parking. There are public bathrooms in the park that are neat and also a little restaurant that sells ice creams and rents out bicycles for you to drive around. There is a big play area for the young kids and all over the fields and benches are groups of people having parties.. weddings, baby showers, and picnics under the trees 🌳 . I would definitely visit them again soon, so i recommend you do the same with your picnic blanket and basket. Just remember to clean up after yourself.

Lovely open green grassed areas to play ball sports. Many shades areas to put a blanket done and have a picnic. Great to also have a kids party.

There's so much offered at this park! Loads of seating, an open field to have a picnic, kick a ball around or walk your dog/baby/yourself. There's a restaurant, a child's play area (jungle gym area), a separate dogs park (with a drinking fountain for dogs, poop bags, bins and friendly doggos), an outdoor-gym, loads of areas to walk and explore, including a little maze hedge area, art sculptures, fountains and ponds with fish, a separate no-dog area to walk around and look at plants, and amazing views of the stadium, golf course and mountain. Beautiful park, kept very clean with separate bins for recycling. Absolute must!

What can I say! It's just a beautiful space in Cape Town right across a scenic coastline. It can become quite windy at times, keeping a jacket close by would be a good idea. Have fun, explore and appreciate where you are in time.

What a huge park in the middle of busy Greenpoint. There is a lovely tea park restaurant. The grounds are big and great for picnics too. There are also seated picnic benches where people occasionally have birthday celebrations if you prefer that to picnicking on the grass. Kid friendly with their sizable kids area to keep the little ones busy. Beautiful for photoshoots(I did one shoot here). People relax and even exercise in this beautiful park, so anything is possible with It's substantial size.

A wonderful green space in the heart of Cape Town. Walk on open grass turf. See a major stadium Enjoy a massive awesome playground. Walk through nature trails of native plants and listen to the general noise of a water wheel.

We packed a picnic blanket, stopped for a few snacks at our local grocery store on the way and had the most wholesome, easy and cheap (free entry!) Sunday morning outing. Lovely atmosphere and beautiful gardens!

The scenery is absolutely amazing! The people are nice, security at the entrance greets you with much respect (shows how much they love what they do) We had a birthday party setup at this place, and the view we had was breathtaking. When we took down our setup, we had 4 security guards help us, they even assisted us by carrying the things to the car for us (you rarely find this in other places) Very impressed! Definitely going back

Such a well kept place to really relax and enjoy what nature has to offer. Get there early though, new lockdown restrictions mean only 100 people can be in the park at any one time so be prepared to queue and only the South Gate is open at the moment.

Impressed by this beautiful park! Visiting from Joburg, I was pleasantly shocked to find such a park in South Africa πŸ˜‚. I came here for drone flying but noticed many people enjoying walks/jogs along the paved route, some with their dogs, and others picnicking. The park is impeccably maintained, adorned with numerous park benches to sit and enjoy the vegetation. Visible security ensures adherence to park rules, and diligent cleaning staff contribute to a clean and safe environment. A definite must-visit, whether you're a visitor or a resident of the city.

Very beautiful park. It has an open gym to exercise. Small dog space where you can play with your dog and cafeteria if you are hungry. You can ride a bicycle inside the park. Must take an early morning walk here.

One of my favourite places to go with my 5 year old. Open space for free play. There are age group parks also a water park for the little ones. Outdoor exercise equipment. There is an educational side to the park showing different habitats. Beautiful clean park. There is security throughout looking out for ones safety. Wonderful to the a picnic, can take a gazebo on hot days

  • 5/5 Izelke G. 3 years ago on Google
Beautiful place to take a day out with the family or the dogs. 100 people limited due to Covid 19. Temperature checks are done at the entrance. Only South Gate is open to reduce overflow of people and monitor sanitizing and temperature checks. Unfortunately no of the children activities are open for children to play on, the dog park is also closed. It might be a hard walk for the older generation due to not being able to sit down on the benches or have picnics. Besides these small changes still an incredible experience.

Refreshing, well as a nature conservation student it was a good experience for me, taking a walk around exploring different types of vegetation. It's perfect for picnic with the kids, your friends even with your partner. It's free entrance.

One of the best parks around, well maintained and managed. The security is top notch and there are a lot of activities for the kids. Don't forget to try out the ice cream place you won't regret.

Spacious park with lovely spots to choose from and a field for those wanting to do more sporty activities. There are few water features (water wheel, bridges, ponds and steam ways). There is a sectioned of area with a child play area. Toilets are very clean. No entrance fee, and bags are checked at the entrance for sharp items and alcohol (glass bottles).

This was my first time at Green Point Park and the park is beautiful and I love the facilities they have there. The one thing irritated me the most was the fact that there was children cycling in the park making rude comments and purposely wanted to knock my nephew and when I checked him said "I don't care" I noticed there are security guards there are they not meant to prevent little brats like that. They made my stay very unpleasant and I just packed up and left. That is something that needs to be addressed doesn't matter race you are but if you enter a public place there should be discipline. What is the aim of having security guards. 😑

The park is beautiful and you can learn a lot about biodiversity. There is a children's play area, exercise area and it's a great photography spot. There are water stations if you want to drink some water. Enjoy a peaceful walk, lay on the grass or have a picnic. This is just the perfect spot.

A beautiful, well maintained park in a fantastic location. Green Point park is a great place to sit for a picnic, meet with friends, and generally relax - with a fantastic view of Lion's Head and Table Mountain. As with all parks in the city, once the sun starts to set it's time to head out - but during the day time it is a great place to park yourself and enjoy a sunny day. As with all things located in the Green Point/Mouille Point area watch out for the INTENSE wind! It's enough to send most of your light belongings flying, so watch out for that too. Also head to the Newport Market & Deli for a fantastic selection of food perfect for eating out on the grass.

Excellent as always! Lots of open space. Everyone having walks, ball games and fitness in open air greenery! Very friendly Security at the front gates keep this place secure and maintain strict Covid sanitizing protocol. Whoever the security company is, KUDOS to them for keeping this place running like clockwork. Lovely place for families and friends having peaceful and safe fun!

What a lovely neat park, catering for all ages. Clean, well kept, with artistic surprizes everywhere. A restaurant with friendly staff, beautiful views overlooking the next door golf course and stadium, and the view of Moulli point light house on the opposite side. A variety of bird like and fishes in the ponds.
