A little gem of a guesthouse. We really enjoyed our four night stay here. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and go out of their way to do everything they can for you. Breakfast is fresh and delicious, the honesty bar is a nice touch, the afternoon cake was always delicious and the welcome home drink in the evening was always a nice treat. The room was spacious and very clean. The pool area well equipped if not anything fancy, but perfect for a few hours a day. Location is great with loads of restaurants and bars a short walk away. Thanks for a great few days :)

We had two amazing stays at the Derwent House Hotel during our trip to South Africa. All the team were super friendly and helpful. We really felt part of the family whilst we were there. They really took time to get to know us and our interests. Their recommendations for activities and restaurants were outstanding, as well as the personal touches really helped make our holiday extra special. This was all capped off by a special Birthday Braii with Luca, Anahid, Armin and some other guests on the final evening which was the perfect way to finish the holiday! This is the best place we have ever stayed and we can't wait to come back again!

Our very favourite home from home. There is nowhere in the world we would rather be than enjoying wonderful hospitality in our favourite boutique hotel. As the many reviews suggest this is the place to come if you want the personal touches, a helpful Team to look after you, wonderful breakfast, a cozy beautiful lounge area and a lovely pool & jacuzzi itโ€™s also a very convenient location for fine local restaurants etc Returning here (itโ€™s our 6th stay ) due to the global pandemic presented its challenges but the three hour PCR test at the airport made it possible after the U.K. Government removed it from the red list, hooray ! We feel safer here than we would at home right now. Sorry I have to go and have some of the delicious complimentary cake with a cup of tea, itโ€™s a carrot cake today home from home indeed. I hope you get the chance to come here & enjoy it as much as we do.

Hospitality on a new level Stylishly decorated boutique hotel with an excellent, talented and friendly team, where no wish remains unfulfilled. The breakfast in particular is unsurpassable. Here hospitality has highest priority, perfection down to the last detail. Large hotels are chanceless here. We come back!

Derwent House is a really nice a cosy place to stay in Cape Town. It is close to many restaurants and bars and very close to many of the attractions using a cab. The staff is amazing here and it's been like staying at home with your mom taking care of you. They really take care of you and help you with anything you need from booking excursions to the attractions of the town to getting details on anything you need to have a pleasant stay. Thank you!

Above and beyond! The service and care is warm, thoughtful and genuine. All staff at Derwent House were kind, helpful and made our stay a joy. The thoughtful newsletters and chocolates left in our room of an evening, recommendations for things to do and a fab breakfast selection made this a unique stay. You can certainly tell the difference between a boutique place like this and larger commercial hotels, this beats them everytime. A great location, quirky interiors and staff that sincerely want you to enjoy your surroundings!

Absolutely Fabulous. We highly recommend this wonderful slice of heaven in Cape Town, the only problem is when you stay here at the beginning of your holiday no other hotel comes close to the hospitality, food, perfect eye for details and views. Thanks to the entire team at Derwent House, weโ€™ll be back!

We stayed for 4 nights at Derwent House and had a fantastic time. The staff are very friendly and very attentive to any requests. Breakfast was delicious (blueberry pan cakes got top marks), and we very much enjoyed sipping our cold drinks on the veranda (or at the pool side) after an adventurous day out and about. We absolutely loved Derwent House and recommend it wholeheartedly. Hopefully weโ€™ll be back soon!

My husband and I stayed at the Derwent House for 5 nights over our honeymoon and we could not recommend it more! From the second we arrived, we felt like we were at home. Patience, Luca, Adrian, and the entire Derwent staff welcomed us with open arms and were so kind and gracious. They also provided us with great insight into the city and gave us great recommendations for things to do and places to eat (truly every dinner they suggested was wonderful!). The property and rooms are clean and uniquely decorated. The hotel is also located in a great part of Cape Town. You are very central to most major attractions and are walking distance to Kloof Street with great shops, restaurants, and bars. We hope to come back to Cape Town one day and would definitely stay here again!

The Derwent House is a very special boutique hotel. From the personal touches for our honeymoon, to the wonderful breakfasts, to the welcoming and caring staff, this is a great place for a vacation. The property has a beautiful pool, rooms are bright, clean and unique and there is 24/7 staff to make you feel very comfortable and safe. Luca and his team kicked it off with welcome drinks and helpful info and they continued their excellent service from there. Highly recommend to all travelers, great central location in Cape Town also!

Exceptional hospitality, heartfelt and genuine. Loved my room, decor was unfussy, comfortable and tasteful, beautiful terraces that allow a feeling of space. Attention to the details that make your stay easy and enjoyable. Excellent breakfast. Enjoyed reading round the fire in the evenings. The Staff are just lovely, and although I was traveling on my own, I had the feeling I could call on them at any time. A real home away from home. Iโ€™ll definitely be back and will recommend Derwent House to everyone!

Amazing hospitality! We stayed at Derwent House on our honeymoon, and were well taken care of by the whole team. One of our tours got cancelled during the trip and Luca gave us suggestions on what to do instead and helped us rearrange our plans around. The team is so sweet from everyone from the chef to the security guard. The home is well decorated, comfortable, and in a great neighborhood close to Kloof St. Breakfast was great, and they have a couple honesty bars throughout the living room area, and a welcome home treat! We walked up to the Lionโ€™s Head trailhead from the hotel, and utilized the hop on hop off bus stop 12 mins away as well as Uber. Highly recommend.

Me and my partner stayed at Derwent House for a few nights before and after our wedding, along with my whole family. Luca, Mercy and the whole team at Derwent House were fantastic, very accommodating and helpful. No ask was too big - they even helped bake a GF cake for my mother's birthday! A gem of a boutique hotel in central Cape Town, I would recommend anyone to stay at this home away from home. Thank you Derwent House!

We stayed here for four nights during our first time in Cape Town. The entire staff is incredibly kind and friendly. The decor and warmth of the house makes it feel like you are staying at a friendโ€™s house but with plenty of your own privacy. Every morning I looked forward to their delicious breakfast. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a more laid back neighborhood where you can easily access main attractions.
