Ellerman houser Restaurant at Cape Town is one of most luxurious hotel in world. We are thrilled when our guests capture their happy and special moments while staying at their home in the heart of Cape Town. Besides the main house, there are two modern, minimalist private villas built into the granite mountainside, as well as a wine gallery, and an excellent little spa.

I went as a tradesman, not a guest. Every time I go I am struck by the amazing atmosphere and how polite, respectful, courteous and professional each and every member of staff I come across is. If that is how I am treated, guests must be looked after so well. If ever the opportunity arises, this would be my number one choice for a luxurious stay in Cape Town.

My family has stayed at Ellerman House many times. They are discrete and their staff is pleasant. The kids love their 24 hour pantry set up - the cookies in particular! There is of course the Mount Nelson but despite it's fame and history their service is a little impersonal. Their breakfast set up is masse. A newish alternative is the Silo which is impressive architecturally or the One & Only Residence if you want to be closer to the centre of the action. However, Ellerman House, the villa in particular is consistently our favourite.

Simply the best hotel in the best city in the world. Ellerman is more than a hotel, it is your home. The staff are family and friends, whether it is your first visit or you are a repeat visitor, they could not be more welcoming. The food is outstanding, with a real appreciation for local ingredients and creating depth of taste alongside obviously impressive technique. The location and the view are simply breathtaking - I could have (and to be honest did) spent the entire day just drinking in the ocean and the vista of Bantry Bay. The spa most definitely left me buffed and refreshed and it is so refreshing to find a team that clearly adore their work and are so knowledgable. Ellerman is without doubt the best home away from home you'll ever find.

We are experienced travelers at high end properties throughout the world, including other R&C properties. The Ellerman House is now our favorite property; yes it is a physically beautiful property with gorgeous views, lovely well appointed rooms, excellent food and a great art collection, but what really made it perfect was the extraordinary treatment we received from the two managers and ALL of the staff, particularly the front office and the restaurant/lounge staff. All of our needs were anticipated and handled perfectly with warmth and kindness and special attention. We hated leaving and will be going back to our Cape Town "home."

If there is such a thing as perfection in a hotel experience, Ellerman House comes about as close as any property at which I’ve ever had the good fortune to stay. Yes, the views of the Atlantic are mesmerizing and beautiful. Yes, 1000+ works of museum quality South African art make each inch of the house interesting to stroll through. Yes, there is insane attention to detail in the decor and finishes. And yes, the generous inclusions in the accommodation rate such as cocktails, airport transfers, laundry, and snacks are unlike any city hotel I’ve ever seen. Yet, the best asset of this boutique 12 room hotel is the staff. They are so warm and so genuine in their care and desire to provide world class hospitality. They deliver their craft with mirror-high levels of polish. We were wowed by the seamless service and the ongoing proactive dialogue with the team to plan and enhance our experience. Yasser, Prince, Albright, and Edith in particular took such wonderful care of us throughout our stay. There’s no question that Ellerman House is in a league of its own in Cape Town, and for that matter, just about anywhere else!

Hard to describe the amazing experience at the Ellerman in Cape Town that had an art gallery, a stunning pool area and breathtaking ocean views. The hotel was adorned with beautiful art pieces everywhere and sculptures that added to the overall ambiance and made for a great conversation starter and a reason to get lost in time, simply amazing!!! The pool area was perfect for a day of relaxation with amazing views of the city an ocean, it is just like a scene straight out of a postcard. The room was very spacious, well-decorated and had all the amenities you could possibly need. But what really made my stay was the attentive and friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure that I had the best experience possible. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and art-filled stay with stunning views of the ocean.

The staff was wonderful. Very attentive and very gracious. The Spa attendants were some of the most qualified in the business. Chade for a massage and facial and it was the best facial ever and one of the best massages ever. Yvette for manicure and forgot pedicurist name but wonderful as well and Andy had a fabulous massage by her. The food was out of this world. Enjoyed every bite! Loved the wine tasting and tour of the cellar with Tristan as well as the gin sunset cocktails. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property. We are ready to return with friends. Thank you for an amazing stay while visiting Cape Town.

We just finished a 3 night stay at Ellerman House and wow does this property and it’s staff leave a lasting impression. There’s so much attention to detail and character in everything they do - the food, evening sundowner drinks, the turn down service before bed, the pantry where you can freely grab snacks and drinks throughout the day, the way the staff remembers you and treats you like family - everything is done with thought and quality in mind. If you’re evaluating a 5 star property in Cape Town, this is 100% the one you should book. Truly one of a kind and can’t wait to return.

Ellerman House is definitely THE place to stay in Capetown. Staff anticipated nearly every whim and responded quickly and professionally for all requests. Nothing was left out. The property is wonderful and beautifully maintained. The art work was beyond belief, its a gallery in its own right. The staff at all levels were warm, friendly, responsive and professional. The tour guides, hotel employees, were highly knowledgeable and great to drive with. We cannot say enough good things about Ellerman house and will definitely stay there on return to Capetown.

Superb old school classic hotel. Very elegant and sophisticated. Staff makes you feel welcomed and at home. I recommend carving out some time to wander around the art gallery. Fantastic wine selections in the formal restaurant. The bar is vibrant and trendy. I would give the spa a miss however.

Picked up our very special passengers in our incredible Sidecars for a wonderful trip along the Atlantic Seaboard. Thank you to the front staff of Ellerman House, especially for ensuring that our exit from the grounds was done safely, truly appreciated it. We look forward to our next pick up.

We picked up and dropped off our passengers on our SIDECARS, so did not go inside this time, but when asking my passenger if they were impressed with their rooms and the Hotel, they were totally impressed, happy and were definitely coming back.

Where do I begin in regards to the Ellerman house? I am fortunate to have traveled the globe for work, but this trip was for my honeymoon and as our first leg of our once in a lifetime trip we were met with the open arms of the Ellerman house. The rooms are exquisite, the food is incredible, the team of staff at the hotel go above and beyond to make your stay so wonderful. We never wanted to leave. There is something magical about the Ellerman house and I cannot wait to come back and celebrate anniversary trips for decades to come.

Best hotel in Cape Town. Attentive service, friendly and engaging staff, fantastic concierge. Great food and drinks too. Full generator coverage during power outages - you won’t even notice the load shedding.

Perfect stay!!! From the gin cart to the library, the art collection to the wine and brandy tastings, everything about this place is GREAT! The staff are so, so professional and friendly, the views are amazing and the rooms are extremely comfortable. We'll definitely stay here again if/when our travels ever take us to CT.

There are simply not enough words to praise this property and the people here. Don’t think twice—book it. It’s worth every single cent. This is 5 stars for the property itself, but the unbelievable service is 7 stars and above. We truly had one of the best days of vacation by just staying on property all day long. Kenny, Prince, Manuel, Duran, Antonio, Trinity—and many more—a huge thanks for making this the best part of our visit in Cape Town.

Whether you travel to Cape Town for business, pleasure, or honeymoon, you must stay at Ellerman House! My wife and I stayed at Ellerman House for our honeymoon, and we could not have been more impressed. Upon arrival, Kenny toured us around the beautiful property. The views are breathtaking, and the food is delicious. Make sure to take advantage of all the great excursions Ellerman offers - we experienced the Cape of Good Hope, and HIGHLY HIGHTLY recommend it. Don't leave without having a few gin & tonics from the gin trolley at the bar rock. One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at.

Truly amazing staff, property, service and amenities. From the moment we arrived we felt like royalty! Staying at Ellerman House is an experience in itself and definitely worth the splurge. The owner collects South African artwork and it is displayed around the hotel. We spent a few hours just walking around looking at the beautiful art pieces he has collected. If you visit, make sure to check out the Dom Perignon cellar! We will definitely be back and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Cape Town.

One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. My wife and I stayed here for three nights on our honeymoon and absolutely loved the experience. The rooms were nice and incredibly spacious, the staff was wonderful, and the food was amazing. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Cape Town.

Always a good time when you book the private dining room, the cellar will never not be a great feature, the meticulous attention paid to every detail makes this a phenomenal stay, dining venue, or chilled hangout for those with discerning taste. The art collection is simply incredible.
