Rouge on Rose is the most AMAZING Cape Town hotel. Very intimate (?maybe 15-20 rooms)- the rooms are huge and just amazingly stylish. Jeanot and Michel - the two brothers who are owners/innkeepers and their full staff are totally tuned into your needs and go out of their way to make everyone’s stay customized to their interests and tastes. They are also genuinely warm and friendly, like most Capetownians. Super accommodating on checkin and checkout times. Many of the rooms have exquisite views of Bo Kaap’s colorful houses cascading up the hill and of the majestic lions head mountain formation above it! Breakfast is over the top great - hot and cold options- and included in the price - and extras like laundry picked up and returned same day are nominally priced. Jeanot and Michael are quick to offer beach towels, umbrellas etc….. whatever you need to make your day perfect! They will also book meals, tours, etc. for you. The airport pickup guy they book for you is an amazing find in his own right. Bazil Christian is his name and he also does incredible tours of parts of Capetown and surrounds that you would never see otherwise … but that provide rich cultural context! 2nd time I’ve stayed at Rouge and I would never stay anywhere else in Capetown- the location is prefect as a base for all areas you might explore and the space and hosts are absolutely top notch!!

All the goodness possible. This place felt like home to me. The family who owns and manage it are just green people always super willing to help with anything and above all to give great advice about where to eat (and trust me, you should follow their advice every time!)

Everything about this gem is amazing! I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The rooms are large and airy and artfully decorated. The breakfast was delicious. The host Michelle went above and beyond to help us getting our UK visas. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and your generous hospitality! We will be back for sure!

I stayed here for 2 weeks with my husband. We felt extremely welcome - the stuff was friendly and caring. Breakfasts in the hotel were better than in the cafes nearby. My room was exactly like on the pictures - clean, full of light and spacious. I took this gorgeous bath at least 50 times. I had to work for a few days and it felt very comfortable - good internet connection and comfy setup either in the room or in breakfast area. Nice vibe in the hotel - there were always people at breakfast or in the lobby to chat to. I could ask all the questions in the world and hotel management was happy to tell me about the city.

The small team made us feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. Michel and Johno provided local knowledge for food, tours, wine and safety. We were in town for a Rugby Tournament at Cape town stadium and hotel is well suited for this kind of stay as it only 20 minutes leisurely walk from the stadium. It is also less than 5 minutes walk to an incredible array of world class cafes, restaurants and bars. This is definitely not your run-of-the-mill hotel. It’s classy and casual, and I have no hesitation recommending a stay here.

We had an excellent stay here. Gentle staff and a very good breakfast. They have super comfortable room and a soft bed. The hotel is located a few blocks from the citysighseeing bus stop. We always ride uber to other locations. if you're going to walk around the neighborhood, always go with someone else and avoid walking at night. Very close we found a place called “Honest Chocolate”. If you like chocolate and coffee, you must know that place as well.

I'd highly recommend staying at Rouge on Rose. It's perfectly located in the scenic Bo-Kaap area, and within walking distance to trendy bars and restaurants in Waterkant, or to the city centre. The rooms are always clean and very spacious. Internet works great, and the breakfasts are a real treat. The staff is very welcoming in making you feel at home with tips, local facts, while spicing it up with their positivity and warm-hearted humour. Big thanks to the whole Team at Rouge on Rose and I hope we see each other again very soon.

Top boutique hotel in Bokaap. Though the entrance is kind of small, the rooms are spacious, very well designer and offer a luxury stay. The reception is warmhearted. Definitely a good idea for a stay when visiting The Cape

Outstanding stay at this most excellent boutique hotel in Cape Town. The staff was most excellent, and Ursula, the owner, bent over backwards with recommendations and assistance. The room was super-comfortable, and smartly appointed. Will return next time I’m in Cape Town!

We can hands down say that our trip wouldn’t have been the same if it hadn’t been for Michele and his staff. The breakfast was made to order every morning and the coffee was phenomenal. The location is great because you’re in historic BoKaap but surrounded by tons of bars and restaurants. We will only look to stay in B&B’s after this hospitable experience!

All round excellent place to stay. Owner made sure everything was exactly as we wanted it, and even offered us free private parking. Comfy, cozy, charming. With the most delicious home-cooked breakfast, with options for all 3 of us. Get the soufflé omelette- so good! Thank you, Michell and staff, for a brilliant stay ♥️

A lovely little hotel that we stayed for 3 nights at the start of our honeymoon. The room was great, and the staff were really helpful in recommending where to go to eat, and places to visit at the V&A Waterfront.

I didn't stay here, but would like to share a positive experience. Marcel assisted us greatly with a vehicle that was broken into and went to great lengths to recover stolen goods at great personal risk

We stayed here for our honeymoon and we couldn’t recommend it enough. Michel, Jeanot and all the staff were so friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had the best stay. The room was amazing, the hotels location is well positioned and the breakfast was fantastic. If we are back in Cape Town we will certainly stay again! Thank you for an unforgettable few days!
