Tintagel is a lovely, beautiful house built in 1891 with a beautiful Dutch Cape architecture. The house is located in a central, safe and beautiful area of the Gardens area of Capetown. It is home to lovely staff members, rich history and beautiful food and rooms. It's interior is from the Victorian era and had beautiful artwork as well. The gardens are perfect for summer breakfast and lunch where I enjoyed many meals over my 7 day stay. It has a pear tree that's as old as the house. I was particularly impressed by the interaction the staff had with the guests every day. It made it feel like home. Ivan, Ethan and Sean are very helpful in planning tours as well as giving information to guests on how to navigate the town. It is located near a few restaurants and a beautiful gemstone shop called Afrogem for any guests seeking souvenirs or gifts. The rooms are very comfortable, homely and clean. The breakfast is amazing. Lots of fresh fruits, great coffee and all kinds of cereals. I had the privilege of having Maltabella porridge that the owner recommended as one of his childhood breakfast meals. The rooms are set in a way to offer comfort and serenity away from the bustle of the city and one can enjoy a book at the porch while enjoying a view of the table mountains after many touristy events. Definitely worth checking it out. Everyday, they raise the flags of the various guests at the facility to give a sense of welcome and familiarity. I highly recommend the place and will definitely visit in the future. Thanks for a lovely time.

We had an amazing stay for 3 nights at Tintagel guesthouse. The house is very beautiful and unique. The room was inviting, clean and convenient. The bed was super comfortable! The staff was amazing. Utah was there to greet us every time we went in and first thing every morning. He's an incredibly nice person and was also very helpful in recommending places to eat and visit, tips about safety and just everything we needed. The location is great and safe. Breakfasts were great as well.

Lovely 4 night stay at Tintagel! We felt incredibly welcomed from the moment Shawn was there to greet us late at night after a long day of travel. The guesthouse is lovely and incredibly conveniently located, the showers are hot, the bed is comfy, the owners and staff knowledgeable and friendly. What more could you want? Great english-style breakfast every morning too! Thanks to all at Tintagel, would love to revisit during better weather to enjoy their courtyard.

Would have given more stars if it would have been possible. We had a lovely stay at Tintagel. The Guesthouse is gorgeous and feels very homey. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The owner helped us daily with planning our tours in the area! Both staff and the owner make you feel very comfortable around the house. They are friendly, help you with everything they can and are always up for a nice chat!

I give 100 stars out of 5 stars. If you’re staying in another place in Cape Town, you’re doing it wrong. Tintagel is a truly unique place. The photos don’t even live up to it. It’s a Victorian townhouse that has been decorated with utmost care. The quality of everything, the interior design, and the charm are all exceptional. It’s centrally located next to Kloof St that has some of the city’s best restaurants and bars. Yet, the place is a quiet oasis where you feel save and can relax. There’s also parking available on the premises. This place became our home in Cape Town, while the owner and manager were like family to us. During our travels, we faced complications due to covid-19 and we got the fullest support and flexibility from Tintagel that one could imagine. This is a 5-star guesthouse with a familial, caring service that you won’t get anywhere else.

The BEST Hotel i have ever experienced. 1. The location is right at the klopf street, but still very quit. 2. The guesthouse itself is unbelievably beautiful. You feel like a queen in a castle. The building was rebuild by the architect and owner Ivan. I have never been in such a unique place ever before. 3. You feel like you are home. It is a place full of warmth and support. We had the unfortunate situation to been stuck in southafrica due to COVID and we came back to this guesthouse every single day after our flights were several time cancelled. They have welcomed us like family. 4. I would always come back to this place and would never even think about going to another hotel. 5. Big thank you to Ivan and Utah the owner and hotel Manager. They are the nicest and most helpful people. We were really sad to leave this place. We wish you all the best and I hope many other people get to experience a stay at your unique place.

Very clean rooms. Both the owner and staff are very friendly. We felt at home and enjoyed our stay. Always got recommendations of where to go for supper and places to visit. Walking distance from everything you need while visiting Cape Town.

Tintagel is discretely tucked away - an unassuming cottage that opens into a fabulous selection of spaces and outdoor nooks for quietly elegant rest and relaxation for the discerning traveler. Enjoy. mapmyway.co.za

Just stayed at Tintagel for 5 nights. We are pensioners so when we first arrived we were both a bit concerned about the area being such a young vibey place. Both Utah and Ivan were such nice people so there was no need for concern. They treated us so well. Our room was great with an excellent bed and white crisp linen. Nice touch was the sherry decanter and the daily chocolates. Thank you. Clarke was a little darling too getting the M-net back for us on the TV. Also good was the parking right outside the B & B. It is a busy area but we got value for money in a spotlessly clean well run comfortable place right in the heart of C.Town. Maureen and Eddie Barry - Johannesburg

What a gorgeous house that is full of history. Beautiful trees outside... And inside! But the highlight is the staff who are just wonderful people. They are also very helpful. Great location, safe, easily walkable area with lots of bars and restaurants etc

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Tintagel! The hosts were warm and friendly, and the building itself was lovely with historic furniture and high ceilings. We particularly enjoyed sitting outside beneath the trellises. The room was spacious and comfortable, although we didn't spend a lot of time here as being in the city the location was great for travelling around

Fabulously comfortable boutique hotel, in a great location, really incredible breakfast buffet included. (fruit, cereal & joghurt, cheese, etc.) Bacon & Egg (or scrambled egg) on toast is included too . . ..

Service was great. Both Shaun and Utah were superb, making us feel welcome and giving us lots of tips on the area. For example, Table Mountain cable car was closed due to strong winds, and Utah recommended us to do a hike at Newlands Forest. Shaun put up the Singapore flag for our stay and updated us on load shedding timings. The rooms were very nice and homely. Other 5 star hotels we stayed at didn't have adaptor sockets, but Tintagel had them. Hot water was readily available, and the whole vibe was old in a very charming, beautiful way. Breakfast was great, with yoghurt, fruits, muesli, juice and water, coffee/tea, eggs, bacon and mushrooms. The location was perfectly close to many attractions, especially Bo Kaap and several highly rated hotels. My group of 6 friends and I would definitely recommend Tintagel to anyone visiting Cape Town.
