Great for budget. Near the sea waves. Chapmans peak drive a walking and cycling distance

Perfectly located with beach access and walking distance to stores and restaurants. Very neat rooms and living space. More suited for the younger, more adventurous, as the living space is shared with other guests.

My vehicle was safely parked behind the locked gate and a short walk to the main building. I was lucky to be the only person in the dormatary, which had en suite hot shower and toilet. The shared kitchens seem to have everything I needed, including free tea and coffee. Entrance is bit hidden on Northshore drive. There was DSTV in the communal lounge

WiFi wasn't working while I was there, just one day though. Rooms did not have proper lockup facilities for laptops etc, but it was safe and it is cheaper. Hout Bay is amazing, so this place does give us the opportunity to visit on a budget. I suggest having your own car!

Great place to stay in an amazing location. The crew is the kindest, the rooms are spacious and clean and the facilities are perfect. We could have wished for nothing more.

I had to request clean sheets for the beds on arrival which was changed. The dust was lying in heaps in the corner of the room. The goup staying at the facilty at the same time was extremely loud when they arrived at night past ten. There was a man and women standing right in front of our door room that night, that was having an argument. The noise and argument upset my children tremendously and we couldnt wait for morning to leave. Definately not a good experience and I feel that management should better manage the facilty with regards to issue above. Overall nice view. With our experience, definately not worth the money to have paid for the upset of my family, especially my children!

Convenient location but if the winds are howling, the sand will be blowing all night and on your car! Only inconvenience is that the entrance is around the other side of the building where you park

Clean and neat place. I've stayed here multiple times before and the atmosphere is great. Close to everything and what a great view of the Harbour.

Communication very bad. Booked a room and week in advance. They cancelled a day before our stay.

There are all conditions for a comfortable stay - there is a refrigerator, TV, tea/coffee making facilities, a safe, a terrace, a kitchen equipped with a microwave, a gas stove, a toaster. Cleaning - every day. You can take a walk around the grounds and in the garden. Each guest will have internet access, you can upload photos, send a file or call your family by video. If you have a car, you can leave it in the parking lot. If you get there on your own, they will help you arrange a transfer. Within walking distance of the beach, shopping centers,seafood market, restaurants, cafes, public transport. If you are traveling to Cape Town alone and want to meet people, Hout Bay Backpackers is the best choice. In addition, South African hiking, by and large, is concentrated in the Western Cape Province, in the vicinity of Cape Town, here. My gratitude to the staff of the hostel, especially the manager Tristan, for solving the non-standard situation with payment and language problems. This place is awesome. With balconies showcasing a view of the sea/beach (which is right across the road), a shared kitchen, lounge, and dining area, it feels so comfortable and well equipped. The dorm I slept in was so clean, and the bed was comfortable. There is a sliding door leading out to a shared balcony, and there's a nice bathroom. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for something affordable, and simple, but decent. Thank you Hout Bay Backpackers! I hope to come again soon.

You simply won't find a better backpacker in SA. Location, views, friendly and flexible staff, clean rooms, facilities, and pure comfort. Congrats! Will indeed recommend and visit again. Value for money? Unquestionable!

I hope to have more stable WiFi here but this place not for internet surfing. Good place and location around.
