Great place to go for a walk or a picnic. There is no entrance fee and there is some times a market on a weekend morning. The park also has a fence all the way around around which makes it feel a great deal safer than some others in the area. It is also well maintained, with the grass seemingly being cut regularly and no litter to be found which is refreshing. The views of table mountain are fantastic and from some angles you can see all the way to the sea.

This is a fenced and neat park where the kids can enjoy the playground and doggies can run around on nice green lawns off the leash! You have beautiful mountain views and you're pretty much alone as there are only very few people around. This park is probably best known to the local residents there and not as crowded as De Waal Park. Every Saturday from 8am to 2pm, there is the Mountain Market where the community sells authentic food, organic fruits and vegetables and some clothing and accessories. A great little market to go to on a Saturday morning with good vibes, friendly people and yummy food. Just make sure to bring along a picnic blanket or chairs. There are no tables or seating options at the park itself and it also doesn't have any public toilets.

Safe and gated park for all dogs , kids, and families to enjoy. They have Bliss Cafe food truck there for coffee and pastries everyday of the week. River running through the park and a board walk to enjoy.

Fantastic new Saturday market. Wonderful atmosphere under the trees. Plenty of grass to sit on or you can bring a picnic blanket. Quality food vendors with lots of fresh fruit and veggies on sale. The highlights for me were Nourishd Cafe fresh juices and True Nature plant based and vegan dahls and soups. Simply delicious and super healthy. There were great musicians playing too. Very chilled market. Amazing views of Table Mountain. Probably the most naturally picturesque market in Cape Town. Due to the year end festivities, the next marked is only on 15 January 2022.

Van Riebeeck Park is a pretty park, there are however a number of homeless people living in the park. A lot of them are friendly but there are a few who have been aggressive. The park and the attached sports field are great places for dog walks and training sessions.

Beautiful views of Table Mountain, Lions Head and looking the other way the City Bowl. There is an easy boardwalk past the old Cape Washhouses and also a stream running down. A gentle walk into thr Deer Park reserve.

Wow what a truly special park. A new discovery for me - the park was clean and very kid and dog friendly and has the most incredible view. A must for a family picnic or a romantic stroll with or without a dog!

Lots of trees, lots of gorgeous dogs. Very mellow ravine with crabs, tadpoles. Clean family outdoor venue to enjoy a picnic. Bring along an umbrella, blankets, cushions to relax. Well kept public space.

It's open during lockdown, although there are some characters hanging around there that made me feel unsafe. Some seem pretty harmless because it simply where they live, but others seem to have set up basecamp there for crime in the area during lockdown taking advantage of the situation, so just be alert.

A well kept park which has recently had a fence erected around it. Swings and jungle gyms for the kids and it has a small river running through the one side of it.

I sat with my feet in river and wondered how the slaves hiding out in the mountains hundreds of years ago might have used it for drinking, washing and cooking It's a breathtaking calm place

The oldest Olive Trees in the Country, Slaveroute relics and surrounded by an amphitheater of the mountain that rises out of the Sea. The gateway to Table Mountain.
