SHOCKING
TREATMENT
I've
been
here
plenty
before,
and
have
recommended
Starlings
to
MANY
many
friends
and
guests
visiting
Cape
Town,
but
I
have
NEVER
been
treated
so
poorly
at
a
coffee
shop
for
being
a
remote
worker
in
my
life!
When
I
arrived,
I
checked
with
the
waitress
to
see
if
I
could
work
at
the
counter
until
a
table
became
available
as
I
wanted
to
have
breakfast
at
a
table
and
not
at
the
counter.
She
told
me
she
would
let
me
know
as
soon
as
a
table
became
available.
After
working
for
quite
a
while,
I
noticed
a
few
walk-ins
who'd
arrived
after
me
being
seated
at
tables.
I
spoke
to
a
2nd
waitress
to
remind
them
that
I
was
waiting
for
a
table
and
was
told
they
would
let
me
know...
Again,
after
seeing
people
being
seated
before
me,
I
asked
a
(3rd
person)
gentleman
if
I
could
please
be
seated
at
a
table.
He
asked
if
I
was
working,
to
which
I
replied
"Yes,
but
I'd
like
to
have
breakfast
at
a
table
and
not
sit
awkwardly
at
the
counter
and
eat".
I
was
told
that
because
I
am
working
I
am
not
allowed
to
sit
at
a
table
-
even
though
I
am
wanting
to
order
breakfast.
I
politely
paid
and
left.
On
exiting,
I
noticed
PLENTY
open
tables
available;
also
tables
with
people
sitting
on
their
own,
no
guest,
not
even
eating,
but
on
their
phone
simply
having
a
single
coffee.
I
can
vouch
for
their
food
because,
as
mentioned,
I've
been
here
plenty
times
before.
As
far
as
service
goes
and
how
they
treat
people,
absolutely
SHOCKING.
I
won't
be
back,
nor
will
I
be
sending
anyone
here
ever
again.
There
are
plenty
other
brilliant
coffee
shops
and
restaurants
in
Cape
Town
with
not
only
great
food,
but
excellent
service
and
friendly,
lovely
staff
as
well.
