First time visiting, was very nice. The restaurant is very homely and comfy. Food was excellent, I had the beef burger avo and bacon was divine. Owner even comes around and chats to the guests. Definitely be back

Had my 21st here, and it was so epic! I had never had a meal here and was told to trust the steak blindly and I did...and would recommend it any day! Veggies were just superb! Loved the service here as well, the team here is amazing. It feels like my little secret restaurant hidden in Rondebosch where I'll run for beautiful chats and excellent meals. All my expectations were met and surpassed!

Went for dinner on a ‘voucher site deal’ and was told to choose one meal from a limited menu to qualify. This should not have been the case. Service was average and food was moderately good. Regular customers were well treated.

Baby chicken was amazing and more than enough to eat.Highly recommend.Waitress was outstanding.

Friendly and attentive service! We had a rump steak and the pork loin ribs, and both were cooked to perfection. Very tasty and good portion sizes. The baked cheesecake for dessert also hit the spot. Will definitely go back!

Went here for an easy supper as I live nearby. It's been open for a couple of years now and serves typical South African food, nothing exciting or fancy but done reasonably well. Service was stretched with only one person on the floor and the decor a little drab and DIY. This part of town is crying out for something great and unique, so yet another mediocre 'do a bit of everything' establishment is a little disappointing. That said, I'll probably go back but with expectations firmly in line with what's on offer.

Great impromptu dinner at Al’s place tonight. Superb meaty ribs and a sweet ending with a perfectly set crème brûle with a berry coulis twist. Topped by personable and attentive service from Alex and fun and fantastic conversation with Al. Made Monday night dinner feel like a Friday!

Always enjoy being there. We try to go there for a New Years eve dinner. Have not been there since Covid. Were back this year and it was like nothing had changed.

What an awesome restaurant. Old school charm, with Al doing the rounds and making you feel at home. Made my wife's birthday extra special Pricing was also very good and the food was top notch. Highly recommend.

We went to Al"s Place for the first time for Dinner, and we had the Peri Peri Baby Chicken and the Ribs. Best Peri Peri Chicken I have had in a long time, and the Ribs were great, falling off the bone and the fries (chips) are the best we have ever had. Really glad we live close by, as Al"s Place will definitely be one of our regular choices to visit.

We went to Al’s Place restaurant last night for the first time, the food and service were excellent, dessert also delicious, this cozy restaurant has left the best impressions, will definitely go back.

The service and food were excellent. Vegetarian options are limited. Allen, the owner and chef, personally told us about the veg options and ingredients. We had the linguini with roast vegetables. The portion was generous and delicious. The meals are a bit pricey but worth it. Will go back.

This is a wonderful intimate homely family restaurant. You arrive as a stranger and leave as a friend. The staff are fantastic, the service good, the food portions good size. Food well cooked and served hot. Highly recommend this restaurant, if you arrive after seven pm it would be a good idea to make a booking.

Relaxed environment, cool 'Al' photos on the walls, the most delicious complimentary spinach and butternut side dish I've ever had, and I enjoyed my pizza too. Definitely going back for more. And the waitress was really nice too. You can use the Entertainer app there.

Al's Place is a very homely restaurant tucked away in Rondebosch. The service was excellent and they made you feel like you're part of the family. They are attentive and the food is top class. I'd definitely recommend Al's Place

Although this restaurant is not as busy as it used to be, Al still gives excellent service. Very friendly guy who loves to chat up a storm with his regular customers. Food is served within 10 minutes and it is deliciously fresh. Lovely atmosphere with music or you can watch the sports channel on tv. Highly recommend Al's Place for a nice dinner.
