Great way to enjoy both wine tasting and having lunch (if you’d like). The food is excellent and they have great recommendations for pairing their wines too. Definitely spoil yourself with some dessert! The staff are very friendly and helpful!

Lovely venue, been here several times and will keep coming back for more. They are by far the best price point for value for money fine dining. The view is incredible and the staff are always knowledgeable and friendly. Regulars are recognized and you do end up feeling special when the wait staff says "welcome back", or "happy to have you join us again". It really is the little things. And the big things of course, like quality meals and produce, delicious wine pairings, and flavours that keep your mouth salivating for more. The photos wont do it justice, but this is the ideal venue for date night, or special occasions. Do not let the affordability of their menu fool you.

Went for lunch, and we chose the set menu which is well worth it at R350 for a 3 course menu or R300 for the 2 course . I had the quail egg with toasted brioche bread and my partner had the salt an pepper squid . Both were presented well and very tasty . The squid was more my favorite though. Cooked perfectly not rubbery and light crispy batter . For mains we had the lamb shank and duck confiti. The shank was meaty and tasty however alittle dry a thicker sauce or gravy would have accompanied it better . The duck was a leg an thigh and tender and succulent . For dessert we both had the apple and berry crumble which was lovely. The berry is warm with a light crumble topping an served with blue berry ice cream . They have a huge selections of wines making their own . Views on the surrounding vineyards and mountains are both beautiful and majestic. They have wine tasting available and a small art gallery. The restaurant is not huge and not many tables which it make it perfect t for a relaxing meal . Service was friendly and professional.

This restaurant and wine cellar is one of my altime favorites- with its breathtaking views of the Paarl mountains and delicious fine dining food. We enjoyed the sirloin on the bone (fantastic), ostrich fillet and pork belly and ended the day with the dark chocolate dessert. Look forward to visit again

Really enjoyed this Restaurant and in Winter. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way. The young lady that served us on Friday 7th July at 14:00 was amazing. I just can't remember her name. Thank you

Imagine for a moment, blue skies, fields layed with various tones of green, seemingly unreal but absolutely is. This is Glen Carlou. Driving up your excitement will surely build for the views you'll enjoy while you dine here. If this is not enough the food is truly exceptional. We were 7 guests and were taken care of from the moment we stepped in the door. I must admit we had a surprise little guest but it was taken with grace and my niece was also added to our table setting in no time. A big thank you to our waitrons, a set of twins that had us chuckle with delight when we were confused as we already ordered drinks and our waiter came again to ask of we have our drinks order set. Let's get back on track! Lol! The food was beautiful and so flavourful. From the starting bread roll and amuse bouche. All we can say is if you have a taste for amazing food and breath taking views. This is the place for you. Pro tip: They had an entertainer special that allowed me to get 3 meals off! Absolute score! ;) I'll be back Glen Carlou! Xoxo

What a gorgeous find. Absolutely amazing views. Our wine expert Rey served us and was extremely efficient and knowledgeable. We had a lovely cheese board and did a wine tasting. We will definitely be back for lunch.

Lovely setting!! Attentive service. Unfortunately the food was disappointing overall but some things were decent. Tomato gaspatcho was strange, kingklip main smelt atrocious coming to the table but was okay when I got past the smell and tried eating it. The pork belly was good but the accompanying potato croquette was unpleasant and the nectarine was replaced with lightly seared cling peach which too was not good. The deserts were disappointing, Eaton mess with 2 tiny shards of meringue... Come on... Don't do that. Eaton mess is Eaton mess, this was sad. The peach dessert needed much more finesse, very basic. To be honest the amuse bouche (cheese croquette) was the best bite of food of the day.

I really like Glen Carlou, tried the liquorice and wine pairing, its good and unique The restaurant offers a 2 course at R300 or a 3 course at R350, this is really value for money since you cant really put a price on the view(go on a sunny day and sit outside!) I had the Beef Tartare starter, honestly one of the best Tartare I have had in Winelands. For main I had the Duck, I cannot fault this the meat fell of the bone and the potatoes were so tasty. Dessert I tried the Chocolate Delice, this was okay and perhaps the only let down of the meal, I would recommend trying a different dessert? The service is really good and staff are super friendly! I would recommend GC for a value for money lunch date!

THIS is Cape Winelans personified! Absolutely fantastic. Beautiful value for money and a treat to the senses! SPACE.. the tables are not squashed together and are nice a big. Best service in the Cape (and I don’t say the lightly). Food was exquisite with delicate flavours teasing the palate. We had their Pinot Noir, perfectly chilled with Sirloin for hubby and Shoulder of lamb for me. What a treat! Thank you so much!

Beautiful views, great food and service all add up to a wonderful lunch outing. Wines superlative too - if you don't know what to choose please ask for a tasting and it will be forthcoming! Highly recommended πŸ‘

We stumbled upon this gem by accident. It was getting a bit late and a few restaurants in the area are closed on Tuesdays. We were just blown away. The location is beautiful with great views over the farm. The menu is small but diverse. We started with a lovely amuse bouche. Hubby opted for the lamb loin which was delectable. The jus was exactly as it should be - dense, sticky & like caramel. I chose 2 starters : the duck liver mousse & the calamari. The duck looked like a painting and the flavours were spot on- creamy mousse, sweet strawbs, acidic fig. The calamari was served with a type of pickled slaw (didn't photograph the menu) which was different & complimented the fish. Only after these 2 local tourists left, did we realise that The Restaurant is highly acclaimed. Well deserved!
