This Coffee place is amazingly GREAT! Coffees are really good, food is super nice and the people working there are very friendly and so careful. The best coffee place I've been to in SA. One of the best coffee I have ever had. Shift is located next to the canal, close to City Lodge. The service and ambiance is perfect. The music set the mood right over here. Service is at the finest. The outlet has a very industrial look and feel.

Had takeaway cafe lattes and croissants (out of this world - fresh, soft, buttery, scrumptious). Coffee delicious. Almost as good as Blue Door Coffee Roasters in Simonstown😄😄😉😉 That's good for competition 😍😍 Staff wonderful and friendly. Definitely come back here. Glad we found this coffee spot😍😍

Despite many options in the area, Shift has quickly become my local favourite. The staff are exceptional - welcoming, warm and funny. I feel at home when I arrive. It’s a great spot to work or chat, relaxed atmosphere and delicious coffee.

More than one visit recently and not sure I'll rush back. Had the Omelette, not the best I've had. The coffee's not bad. The carrot cake was good!

Shift has always been a great spot - relaxed environment, cool people working there and awesome coffee. I rate it amongst my favourite in the city and always make sure to stop by when I'm nearby. They make some really interesting and tasty coffee combinations and food, too.

Can only speak to what I ordered, but the eggs benedict was okay. I can make it better at home with way more flavour and creamier poached eggs, and I'm not an advanced cook. Also wasn't asked which toast for it to be on so they brought me a random one

The service was a bit slow and it took awhile for us to be acknowledged and seated, but it was an overall ok experience. The coffee and juices were good. We had the Americano and Pineapple Ginger juice. Also ordered the french toast and oatmeal. It's right on the strip of Main Road in Greenpoint, so you can see/hear the traffic going by, but it's also tucked away a bit so as to give an intimate vibe. There's also a random bird cage that sits in the outdoor seating area. I'm not sure what the story is behind that and I failed to ask. Anyway, this is not a bad place to try out if you're in the area.

Cosy atmosphere as it's hidden from the traffic and this way one can enjoy the busyness of the life outside while enjoying your morning coffee and a nice talk with friends ☕🍰

This is a great location to enjoy a coffee and something to eat! Shift's coffee is one of my favorite, and I often buy some grounded coffee for home. It's quite popular, and many people are often ordering takeaway coffees, so count on there being a bit of a queue. The service experienced the last month has varied and has not always been attentive. Sometimes, the waiters seem to argue amongst themselves. Sometimes, they are a little distracted and lacking energy. I've often seen the manager around, who seems to get involved when service starts lagging. The coffee barista has always been efficient, trying to manage the coffee orders, the billing, and the staff. Parking can often be found in the parking lot opposite the hotel.

5.0 for the coffee and a 4 for the food I would say. + coffee is great here! The coffee beans are high quality, the ratio of milk foam and coffee is ideal imo + cozy place + waiters are friendly and polite + they have a great menu with lots of breakfast dishes - the place seems to be always crowded and it takes a while to get the food. We’ve been here twice for breakfast and waited around 30-40 minutes both times - the food is good and tasty, but not the type of food I will remember after the end of the vacation (which is way I went for a 4 stars review instead of 5) - the oatmeal can be very different from one day to another. The first time it was rather solid and the 2nd time was full of milk. They don’t ask you how you would like to serve it so better you specify in advance if you have a preference 😁

Cool funky little spot on the main road , the chilli sauce looks aggressive en enticing yet is super mild which is disappointing in my case. The smoothie is very small, you can go down the road for a Far better and bigger one for the same price , sandwich bland , needs some spunk not just ingredients

A mess 3rd time, similar experience. Had to place my simple order 4 times with 3 different people. Took 15min + for a 2 basic coffees. Got the order wrong. Barista openly sneezed over cups. After all that, sub-standard coffee for Cape Town. Never again.

Shift espresso bar was a wonderful place . We goolgled and discovery this place. It's on the main road and the staff is pleasant & efficient. The food excellant , well prepared and the service is outstanding. The toilet facilities is situated in the adjacent hotel. Serves breakfast all day. Never to be disappointed if you choose to go there..

Best coffee, best service, best food and best management.. Don't go anywhere else! 10/5 if I could. Really worth the time and money. You won't regret the warm roasted cup they serve and the delicious dishes they pump out. Waiting time is hardly anything and the staff are always friendly. Local, foreign or foreign local, you need to have a sit down at this gem of a coffee shop.

A wonderful experience. A friend and I were looking for a place for lunch in Green Point and came across this restaurant. So glad we did. Every part of the experience was great. Service was professional, friendly, and attentive. The menu offered wonderful choices that made it hard to choose. The food was delicious and ample portions. The price was totally modest compared to other area restaurants. I highly recommend going here. You will be happy you did.
