The best thing about this place for me is the location and the interior decor . The ambience can go either way-Different strokes for different folks I went there for lunch on a sunny Friday afternoon, the terrace was packed and the service was okay but the food was underwhelming(or maybe my choices were) Had one of the gourmet loaves and that was a complete miss, wouldn’t recommend. The grilled beef fillet was really good though . The dessert (Death By Chocolate) was sweet and nice-edible. So yay for the vibe and nay for the food. I was disappointed when my wine glass came dripping water and looked dirty, but I guess given that it was so full I understand Definitely a great place for chilling and drinking.

Life Grand Cafe has become one of our firm favorite places to dine in Cape Town. Whether this be for lunch or dinner, or whether it be a beautiful sunny day or cold and cloudy. The restaurant can lend itself to a cosy feel with heaters and blankets, or one of open verandahs with refreshing sea breezes. It is advisable to book, as they are quite popular with locals and tourists. We've been three times recently, and on each occasion we were exceptionally pleased with the food quality, the service and atmosphere. Whether it be a fish, meat, burger or chicken option, we could not say which was a better dish! Their cocktails are also 👌. On the three occasions we were served by Frank (if I remember correctly). He was an incredible waiter who really elevated our dining experience each time. He had a great sense of humor and excellent customer service! One thing to keep in mind: this is Life Grand Cafe, and not The Grand (which sits just outside the Waterfront).

Absolutely enjoyed my time there. The food was amazing and the waiters did a great job. Love love loved it. You get to see the water and boats aesthetics nicely as well.

Variety and presentation of dishes was remarkable. If you love eating with your eyes and enjoy scenic setting Life Grand Cafe is a must. We enjoyed lunch with our daughters on Sunday

Hi there, A super busy place, many type of food on the menu. The busy vibe is good and bad depending on what you like. However, it doesn’t impact the service they provide. You want to order something, the waiters are everywhere. Bring a table of friends, but you’ll have to shout, but isn’t that part of the party? Enjoy it, cheers.

Bella😍i was blown away when i walked in Life Grand Cafe,the decor etc beautiful from the entrance to the seating area and the toilets Wow. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and the Manager Brandon gave us excellent service👌The food was the best! Bravo to the Chef! I simply loved the tuna ceviche, the prawns ,Fire pit platter and oh so choc dessert, everything! I highly recommend this restaurant❤ Thank you for the lovely experience xxx

Literally one of the best restaurants to eat at in the V&A Waterfront. I ordered the Beyond Meat Burger and the Cosmo Virgin cocktail.The food looked so delicious and tasted good as well. The prices are very good and staff is quite friendly and cheerful. It is the perfect restaurant to enjoy some quality food with an amazing view and atmosphere.

Stunning view at the pier’s edge . The chilli bacon pasta is one of my favourite dishes . Great sushi and other seafood dishes too. Staff are friendly and helpful. Perfect for a night out !

Service, while generally pleasant, can occasionally be inattentive, especially during peak hours. In summary, Life Grand Cafe is worth a visit for the views and atmosphere, but there's room for improvement in the realms of gastronomy and service. Especially when it comes to wines. There is a wide range of options, however tasting is not offered when ordering per bottle. This can be tricky when the vast majority of options are only offered by the bottle.

This is a very busy place on Saturday night. The service did their best considering the amount of people. It was very-very loud inside and hard to hear each other. Food was good. We ordered tuna and salmon poke, as well as root vegetables salad. All was very fresh and tasted good.

The views were spectacular, however it became very cold in the evening. I don't have much to say about this restaurant; I had a decent experience, but nothing I would do again.

Large variety of food and beverages. Good quality and value. The place is always very busy, we had to book a table a day prior to insure we got in. But it is loud, very loud.

It exceeded my expectation. The lamb shank was amazing as well as the chicken. The waiter who served us really went far and beyond.

A lovely experience, and if you sit on top you get to enjoy beautiful views of the harbour. Food was delicious and not too expensive, I ordered the chicken platter which was not entirely what I expected but not in a bad way, the lavash was not lavash but the bread was tasty. The livers was super rich and tasty, and the chit Ken drummettes is a showstopper. Not an everyday restaurant, but slightly cheaper than other up market restaurants but still delivers the something more special than mainstream feel.

It was beautiful at Life Grand Cafe and the meal was absolutely amazing. I had the T-bone and some white wine on my first trail. It was so amazing that I had to get some more when I was in the axis again. And the customer service was stellar, this is regardless of the crowd they always attend to. Someone tries to make a table available at every minute and you get your order in prompt. You could choice to dine in the restaurant or in any extensions around the reception.

It is a very lively restaurant located in a touristy area. It has lots of outdoor seating which allows you to enjoy the views and also the live performances that tend to take place nearby. The service was excellent for our first visit, as was the food and cocktails. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Very poor slow service. Food is good. Waitress forgot our salads. Long periods of time would go by with no sight of waitress. Was going to order dessert but she did not come to table for over 15 minutes after we'd finished our meals. Asked for the check and she vanished again. Had to get the manager involved. The Paella was okay. Pizza is good.
