So my colleagues and I decided to go to Ocean Basket in Plumstead and we definitely had a great time and received exceptional service from our waiter in the first picture called Jayde. We would like to also commend his manager on duty Ethan for assisting Jayde with our drinks order. The food was absolutely amazing and I would definitely recommend anyone to this Ocean Basket.

Atmosphere was tranquil. Not crowd. Had the platter for 2. Disappointed in the hard rice and calamari tubes was salty. Definitely informed the manager so that other patrons will have a better experience. If you don't bring it to their attention they will be non the wiser and Ocean Basket will received bad publicity through word of mouth. The manager has apologized and thanked for bringing it to his attention and prepared a fresh portion of each himself.

Loved my prawn special, chips were great! My daughter loved her fish and chips. Delicious hake! Americano ☕ at the end of my meal was 💯 Service was excellent. I hope COVID calms down so they can operate fully again🙏 thank you, OB, for an enjoyable meal.

It was my 16th Wedding anniversary and prior to going I called the branch and spoke to such a polite gentleman by the name of Keagon. He assured me that he would keep a table ready for when we arrive. Our service we received was exceptional, the food was fantastic and it all ended off with Keagon arranging a special dessert treat for us. I was wowed by the service excellence. Clearly they take pride in their customers and ensuring that they produce service that is exceptional. Great job Keagon and team. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much to Ocean Basket Plumstead. Everything was truly perfect, from the food to the service to the atmosphere. Everything was really enjoyable. Most of all thank you to our waiter Joshua, an amazing host/waiter very kind and patient he made sure we were okay the entire time, his service made the already amazing food taste better. A honestly amazing experience 10/10 definitely going to be here more often.

This is a familiar place to myself and my family. We have not been here for a long time due to experimenting with new venues and taste sensations. # I must admit that my disappointment was visible to my family and we discussed it over our rather mediocre supper....... The food was well prepared but the fish very boxy, I am sure it was supermarket box crumbed pieces. The so called rolls was smaller than cocktail rolls (BUT THE BILL FULL SIZE) but i must be fair and admit it was baked well. The atmosphere must be brought in from home because the vibe of days gone by is no more "OCEAN BASKET".... #VERY DISSAPOINTED"! Please experience for yourself and correct me if needs be.

Went with a big group, terrible service waited over an hour for the food and no the place was empty not a lot of customers, I usually avoid this OB because I never had a good experience, thought it would maybe improve after they refurbished the place or got new owners maybe. After waiting so long for the food, before the food even came I could smell it, was definitely not fresh, didn’t taste fresh whatsoever. I would definitely avoid this OB it hasn’t been the first time I experienced this. Was also embarrassing having people from overseas eating with us.

Had a terrible experience at Ocean Basket Plumstead. We ordered a Full Deck platter it was extremely dissapointing. The fish was fried poorly, the calamari was battered even though we had asked for it to be prepared in the usually crumb coating. The mussels were extremely cold and the garlic butter sauce was split. We also ordered a side of calamari heads and it had a burnt taste We shared our disappointment in our meal with the manager and they took the fish and calamari to the kitchen. The manager then returned and advised us the fryers weren’t working correctly however they offered to replace our fried fish and calamari. We were then brought a mocktail to compensate for the poor food quality we received. We then asked the manager to charge us for the food that we had eaten on and refund us for the items they had returned to the kitchen. We were then told that they would only be able to refund 30% of our bill even though 80% of our food was essentially inedible. We could not fault the service of Megan, our waiter would constantly came to check up on us and out satisfaction of the food and service. However, we were extremely disappointed with the service received from Keagan the senior manager and Daniel (manager). Unfortunately Ocean Basket Plumstead will not be seeing us again.

Would not recommend the Plumstead branch unfortunately. Their food standards are not good. Food is not fresh and we never have a good experience. Our first time giving them a try after not ordering from the plumstead branch due to previous bad experience, and still, not happy with the quality of their food unfortunately. The whole meal is still in our fridge. We have complained and were provided with a sorry. Would just like to share our experience. We will not be making use of this branch unfortunately. Never a good experience.

Amazing service all around. Managers are excellent in explaining the waiting period and what we receive in the interim. Will definitely be back. Those who never worked in the restaurant trade doesn't understand the amount of pressure one is under, OB Plumstead continues to provide excellent food and service. 😊😊😊

I visited the Ocean Basket, Plumstead store this weekend and what a great experience. The staff was so welcoming and warm, the service was excellent, the food was fresh and the store was spotless. The manager (Reece) is superb, he constantly checked up with us and ensured we were enjoying ourselves. Thank you again Mr Reece. This is the best service I received at any Ocean Basket and I will definitely returning again.

Food was divine. Service from our waitress , lovely young lady, was exceptional. She is a gem. Restaurant was clean and neat. I really cannot fault anything except the little dinner rolls that get served at sit down. Two of our rolls were rock hard. They were taken away and were replaced by rolls we waited for fresh from the oven. Even in their fresh state they were not nice. I suggest you partner with Food Lovers down the and go back to the multi seed bread slices. Or just change the recipe of your existing buns. Other than that...Plumstead Ocean Basket stays a favourite. Change the rolls and I give you your 5 star rating you deserve. No pressure

Had the best time on Tuesday. The service was excellent and the sushi platter was so delicious. The new managers were very welcoming and made us feel right at home Will definitely be coming back!

I wanted to only give 4 stars because the service wasn't that great, waiting really long for service, and took around 40 minutes to get drinks with only a few tables occupied. BUT the food was absolutely amazing 👏 cooked to perfection and very tasty 😋. This branch has been through a very turbulent time in the past few years but I will definitely commend them on well prepared dishes and fairly reasonable prices. Will definitely be back!

My wife and I had our 16th Wedding anniversary yesterday and chosen to eat at Ocean basket Plumstead. My phone ahead and spome to Keagan to make sure that they will not be having Loadshedding. Keagan was very helpfull and friendly and as we arrived at the restaurant he knew exactly whi we were. We had an Awesome time with Awesome food! Even after our starter Sushi and Main meal Keagan arranged an wonderful Personalised desert for our Anniversary. Thank you so much to Keagan and the rest of the awesome staff at Ocean Basket Plumstead!!!

Food was good. Waited about 40 minutes for the food. But in that time they pushed a lot and i mean a lot of take away orders. I approached the manager and he said that the kitchen was not receiving orders and that their system was not working and that it was a technical issue. After approaching the manager food came. In addition, the manager was busy folding take away boxes instead of managing the place. We were at the restaurant for more than an hour and have seen plenty of other guests leave. The tables were not cleaned for the duration of our stay.
