Had a late lunch here with my friend . For starters we had chicken strips , I thought it would just be strips , however it's strips and chips with 2 sauces . The chicken strips is rather nice and crispy . A fresh lemon is served with it as well . Just a lovely taste when is squeezed over the strips. For the main meal I had the bootlegger double burger , and a gourmet shake , peanut butter and brownie . The shake is made with actual brownie and had a chucky piece In it. It was great . The burger and chips was not bad . Burger actually reminded me of a big Mac in its layout and bun . Not a bad experience , will visit again .

The coffee was delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Their hospitality made the coffee experience so much more personal.

I have often gone to Bootleggers in Green Point, was a fan. Will now not go back. The Waitrose are lovely but the lady and young man behind the counter? No thanks, no greeting and no personality at all. I was feeling unwell so ordered an earl grey tea, take away. The gentleman behind the counter made the tea in a tea pot, which is understandable as it has to draw, the young lady questioned why he was doing that, he explained that the tea needed to draw, her response was pour it into the takeaway cup as the teapot was taking up space. So I was given my tea. Got to my car and had a sip, just milk and water no taste of tea whatsoever! I go back in and said that the tea was weak, do you know what they did? They pulled the tea bag out of the tea pot and dumped it in my cup!! Terrible customer service. Maybe management should listen to the staff who clearly know what they are doing.

More Slowleggers than Bootleggers I was there with a friend early morning and there were no other people in the restaurant so we assumed that our food will come quicker than usual. Our coffee took a while to be made then the waitress told me that 30 minutes after we sat down that they couldn't make my flapjacks because they haven't made their batter for the day yet, so I ordered an omelet just like the friend I came with did, yet they took another 30 minutes to make 2 omelets and then they gave us the wrong bread. After waiting an hour we had to leave and then our food only came so we had to eat in under 10 minutes as we had to leave to be at another place. The next week I returned to buy a take-away coffee and then they didn't have change for me so they had to ask 2 other staff members for change for me and I waited a while for my coffee to be made. The food is great and all, but it's not worth the pitstop if you have to be somewhere on time.

Bootleggers coffee is amazzzziinnggg. Their coffee is creamy and smooth. I love the vibes. You’re able to read, do homework or just get away from a busy day. Today I ordered the breakfast wrap with a hot americano ☕️.

After doing the Women's Spar race ..my friend..husband and i stopped at the ever so popular Bootleggers . It was our very first visit and we were so excited to get some proper coffee and something to eat. 🤗However our experience was disappointing ..the opposite of what of what we expected. We waited a while but understood it looked like there was not enough staff. Our cuppachinos came to us cold ..we gulped it up not wanting to complain. I tried to mention it to the manager who just explained about how coffee shouldn't be too hot..and how people in the old days sipped out of saucers🤔..i thought the customer could decide whether their coffee should be hot or cold anyways ..maybe the food would make up for the cold coffee. My bootbun was stale my friend and husbands food was cold😳 Being hungry we downed the food ..paid with tip included and left not to ever return or refer anyone. I felt bad because i insisted on stopping at Bootleggers for the best coffee experience as advertised.

Busy gem of a coffee shop or should i say restaurant as it is more than just a coffee shop. It has great coffee, with wide variety of hot drinks, fresh juices, cold drinks but best of all a variety of food items to enjoy. From typical South African favorites such as egg benedict (which was yummy), sausage and eggs (however you want it i.e. scrambled, sunny side up, poached), to smoothies, wraps, burger options and many other interesting meals. Checkout the online menu. I was super impressed with this Seapoint/ Three Achor Bay venue as it was fully halaal and we could enjoy any meal off the menu. The meals were very good portions and very tasty too. We had the eggs benedict meal with added beef sausage and another egg meal, the Omega Smash (poached eggs, smashed avo, salmon trout, olive infused dressing on a nice sourdough bread). We very much enjoyed the meals and i specifically loved my huge mug off bootlegger coffee (complimented my meal nicely). Quick note, seemed busy in the morning and we had to queue, but it was manageable and well worth the wait. Would highly recommend. Reasonable prices, good portions, great tasting meals and a lekker coffee too.

This place reiterated why I steer clear of halal coffee shops. My first time back in 2 years, I took a group of friends and I was appalled at the service. We waited 45min for our food early on a SATURDAY morning (not yet peak time so only 3 other tables were occupied) without any update or check in from waitress. When thd first meal arrived- the eggs were done incorrectly, after specially iterating the importance of a fully cooked egg for a pregnant person. Additionally we had to ask waitress to bring ALL the meals at the same time (not sure why we had to instruct something so basic and obvious). Not going back in a hurry!

A lovely bootbun. I deconstructed it and really enjoyed the different items. My waiter Blessing was pleasant and attentive. Meal was good value.

My father in-law and his friends visited this branch and the service was really disappointing. Not only did they wait an unreasonable amount of time (about an hour) for their order to come, but when their food eventually arrived, it was cold and the eggs were rubbery in texture. They ended up leaving as the food was near inedible. Additionally, customers who had arrived later than them received their food before them. It is unacceptable to wait this long for a paid meal, only to then receive food of this quality. Would not recommend.

Had breakfast on 2 occasions whilst visiting the area. Had the Bootegger and coffee on both occasions. Breakfast was high quality and very tasty. Coffee was also great. Friendly staff. Definitely need to try here for breakfast and your coffee fix

Just stares, no welcoming and greetings at 12h23 Sunday 05/Mar. Couldn’t go inside yet, as the floor was filthy, albeit sweeping works had commenced but mini piles of filth left the gathered against a pillar and next to tables/chairs. I sat outside for 6min before someone came to attend to me, had less than 10patrons in-house. The table adjacent mine had leftover (crockery and all) from the previous patron. Also alerted the waitress attending to me and she left it there still (clutching menus), oh well. She cleared it much this later Went back to peek into the main restaurant, it was still filthy still, shamefully. Manager, Blessing, came up but wasn’t interested to listen and resolve, although he begged me not to post this review. If only he didn’t make excuses: “we were very busy”. Team eventually finished sweeping works, after I offered to sweep and help out myself. I was blessed to learn from an maintenance engineering 7 course from many moons ago, that a dirty floor means a poorly run operation/plant/office. And sure this is poorly run, unfortunately I didn't bother ordering food but my company who came in later ordered a light meal. Manager offered to waive my drink from the bill, but I insisted bill be reprinted and I was blessed to pay in full. Still this coffee shop doesn’t have any muffins (from my last 4-5visits since 2020), they run out here, so why have them on the menu offering still?! Even after speaking to Management, Blessing, service was poor although he tried to make a mark... Come on, I should have gone to the taxi rank rather. At least I would have enjoyed myself and connected with the service providers (people), despite the conditions! I am blessed to be able to meet future company/guests at home, and get what I deserve for almost free: cleanliness, warmth, smiles, friendliness, peace, comfort, safety et all. I am up for excellence, service, friendliness, efficiency, cleanliness, and this establishment is not up for it - sadly! Bless you as you improve in staff training, change culture, keep up to known healthy and safety standards & procedures, and imbibing the values of hospitality, quality etc. Trust me, a winning culture is more valuable than the Rands received - at this seemingly very profitable establishment. I forgive you and bless you. Thank you

The worst breakfast experience yesterday 18 March ‘23. We waited more than an hour for the first plate of food to arrive and thereafter another plate every 15 mins later. The waitress was stressing but did not explain the reason for the long wait until we asked and the excuse was that they were short staffed! Yes we were a group of 12 people but why do you accept a booking if you cannot manage the numbers?! And the place was not that busy. The seeming manageress/ hostess was in the background looking moody and unapproachable and avoiding all eye contact. No manager came over to check in throughout the time we were there. The food - the chicken mayo hot press sandwich was rock hard, I nearly broke a tooth, same with the avo on toast.. the coffee was cold and the oats was so poor- served with cheap jam. We arrived there for breakfast and left there at lunch time! A total let down that the only halaal Bootlegger is such a disappointment! You won’t be seeing us again.

Food was generally mediocre. Open burger had no taste. Sweet potato fries were not done. Open tuna sandwich was good. But not much tuna. Double burger was OK. Normal Fries were very good. Would not buy food here again.

On Friday, 26th August, 2022 @ around 10h00 my friend from KZN and I (from Gauteng) decided to have Breakfast at the Halaal Bootlegger in Seapoint, Cape Town. Being a Muslim this Venue appealed to me and it was also close to our Bantry Bay Timeshare Unit. Firstly, we waited at the Entrance for quite a while before we were acknowledged and shown to a table. We waited forever for Menu's and it took just as long to serve the Tea and Coffee that we ordered upon entering. Eventually, our orders were taken but the 'lethargic' Waitress got it all wrong. I asked for two Eggs turned over and I got Scrambled Eggs instead. The Cherry Tomatoes and the Mushrooms, left much to be desired. Half were raw and the other half were scorched to a cinder. The Sausage was scored and bitter. The cold Sourdough Toast was rock hard.My friends Toasted Cheese Sandwich was two slices of unevenly toasted bread with some gooey melted cheese flowing out of the bread. I asked for some Butter for my toast and requests to two waitresses later the butter was served and my toast was already ice-cold by then. The Sugar and Sweetner on the table was minimal and we had to request more, only to be greeted with a 'grunt'. As our Parking Meter limit was fast approaching we requested our Bill. Same story, it took ages to be presented for payment. One could have understood the slow service if the Restaurant was full, but besides the two of us there were no more than another four patrons. In conclusion, we will not be visiting a Bootlegger Restaurant anytime soon.

Had a stunning breakfast. Since lost the photos sadly so no pictures but had brilliant stack of flapjacks which were a little on the dense side but overall delicious. Bottlegger pricing is never cheap, it's for the hipster vibe and wannabe fancy feel were the fanciest part is the higher price you pay. Vibe was solid enough. Red Cappuccino needed honey and honey was poured before drink given and not told of this so should be forwarned

Avoid at all cost!!!!! Came here for some lunch but was extremely disappointed and walked out. Service was slow even though it wasn’t busy. Waited over 25 minutes before asking where our food was as other tables who came in after us had their food. When the food came up it was cold, egg was hard boiled instead of running and everything looked like it had been sitting in the kitchen for ages. Refused to eat the food and sent it back much to the staffs disgust! The manager on duty came over to take our money for the drinks. I had to inform him that if his customers were not happy it surly it was his best interest to find out why and offer an apology !!!!! Only then did he ask what the problem was. Avoid! There’s better independents or better Bootleggers about.

Two hour wait for food to be told that their flapjack mix wasn’t right. Hardly any filling on the Chicken Mayo sandwiches. Been here about 6 times and only had one pleasant meal. Definitely not going back.

I guess during the day, they prefer white customers only. We were blatantly ignored by the white waitress when we walked in. She then proceeded to assist a group of white people behind us, who promptly told her that we had been waiting ahead of them. She turned to us without the same welcome the white group was offered and barely listened to us before returning to them. Fortunately the non-white staff attended to us with a smile and offered to assist. We thanked them however we were not interested in dining at this establishment after the initial experience. Will try again during the evening with the rest of the brown capetonians...

We stumbled on this gem of a place & we are so glad we did. Service and food was on point. The waitress Rati was amazing, efficient & so professional. The store was immaculate, and all the food was very tasty. We definitely will be back.
