Awesume food and super friendly staff, our waiter explained the menu perfectly, gave some tips and even made some jokes in between. The view is spectacular, you can enjoy camps bay while eating some curry food. The restaurant was clean and very professional, the pricing is a little bit high but for some reason considering the great service it felt fair. Keep up the great work and the awesume food well done👍🏻

Ordered samooss, it tasted extremely floury, the pur used was of a horrible quality. I could’ve rather spent the R70 for the 4 samoosas at the corner shop, samoosas dripped in oil and felt as if it was reheated in a microwave. Ordered two chicken and two “lamb”, only to discover that “lamb” is mince, according to The Raj. Dishes are not well priced, as quality of food is extremely flavourless for a so called Indian specialty restaurant. Interior is very well designed and decor is exceptional. The food, which is the main attraction, is of an extremely low quality and not worth the money at all. Rice is an added extra for a meal, which should be free, given the price being charged. I am no stranger to food that is a bit pricy, but the quality should match the price. I definitely would not be returning and not be recommending them to any of my colleagues, friends and families.

For location , this place deserves 5 star. For quality and quantity, 3 star. Overpriced when considering the quality and quantity of food and also the fact that the curries are not accompanied by rice. The per person dinning experience here is over R200( one drink, and one curry with either rice or bread). The staff is friendly and very welcoming.

Our go to place for Indian food. Never disappointed and the beautiful view of the ocean is totally magestic.The manager Leslie was totally hands on all over the place.

We wanted authentic Indian and we had the best experience at this restaurant. The food was top-notch. Our waiter, Alex, looked well after us and was very entertaining and friendly. Compliments to the chef, the Rogan Josh is unforgettable with the garlic and butter naan. Will definitely come back again!

The Raj is set on the strip along Camps Bay beach. The food was good yet not great. The server was friendly and attentive and the order was served within a reasonable time.

Four of us had dinner on Tuesday 14November 2023. The restaurant did not have the smells normally associated with Indian food. The music was too loudly and thankfully the volume was decreased upon request. The food was awful - tasteless, bland and without any aroma and fragrance. We complained and were given two complimentary desserts - also awful. Not recommended.

I really enjoyed our food experience at The Raj. The prices were ok and the alcoholic beverage prices were also affordable. The location is fantastic and close to all the vibrant surrounding spots. The butter chicked and samosas were to die for with amazing authentic flavours. I will recommend them if your in the area and in the mood for some lovely Indian cuisine.

Great setting opposite the beach. Food is excellent. Portions are large. Somewhat pricey, but par for the course due to the setting.

Had lunch today. Chris was amazing the cappuccino was delicious, great foam to coffee ratio. Food was also very yummy. Medium butter chicken is a bit on the hot side but manageable. It make sense why Raj has been trading successfully in Camps Bay since forever. Food is of high quality and the view looking onto the beach is priceless.

Great place for lunch in the midday heat. From the first minutes my husband and I felt welcome thanks to Emri's attention and professionalism. He gave great advice on the rich menu. The food was superbly prepared and beautifully presented. Thanks for the hospitality! Such impressions are not forgotten. 🌹

The most disappointing chicken Korma I’ve had in a very long while. All that can be tasted is onion. It’s basically an onion soup with chicken in it. The search for a good Indian restaurant continues. A real miss

During our Gate1 tour of South Africa, We visited The Raj at the waterfront on November 10,2023; and were extremely impressed with the food and and the ambiance of the place since we were only interested in a vegetarian menu, I was pleasantly surprised and we ordered sag aloo and tadka dal with tandoori roti and rice. Besides the food we met the Manager Mr. Dorian and thoroughly enjoyed talking to him. The place in this waterfront location couldn’t ask for a better location. The restaurant is less than one year in this location but is part of 14 restaurants throughout South Africa. The service was good even tithe server Mike was new at the job. We will certainly visit this place again when we are in town

No sure why the rating is so low but it is completely wrong. The food, service and vibe are all 10/10. We have come to this restaurant 3 times in our one week trip to Cape Town. We love Indian food and we are picky about it. We went to another restaurant which was very highly rated and compared to that, The Raj is so much better in every way. Highly recommend this place and ignore the low rating!

The lamb korma and lamb roganjosh were very tasty. Rice fluffy and naan yummy. The samosas were also good. Service was great
