I took my two year old to Emergency for a fractured arm and sat there for 3.5 hours without her being seen to. She was in pain and couldn't move the arm. There was only one doctor available and seeing to patients and after we saw the doctor, it took another 3 hours to get X-rays done and her arm seen to. So 6.5 hours for a 2 year old to get her arm seen to at a PRIVATE HOSPITAL. I would probably had better service at Red Cross for a fraction of the cost.

Monday 16 May 2022. The most appalling patient care I have ever experienced. My 34 year old daughter suffering from severe nausea and dehydration since the previous night. She needed a drip with anti nausea and electrolytes. Already compromised because she had Covid 2 weeks before. There were 3 other patients in the emergency room. The nurse who interviewed her told me to wait outside and then gave zero feedback to either of us. My daughter was told to go back to the waiting area expecting to be examined by a doctor shortly. A receptionist took down details for admission and we proceeded to sit for over an hour. Eventually we decided to go elsewhere. I wish we had looked at some of these reviews before going there. Would never go back

Dear family of patients at Constantiaberg. I will never admit any of my family to this hospital. My sister is in the high care unit and some of the nursing staff have the rudest and arrogant attitude I have ever seen! So much for being professional and serving sick patients. Please see my detailed post on "HelloPeter" . Various family members have complained to the management of the hospital about the nursing staff and their attitude and unprofessionalism and lack of empathy but to no avail. One nurse even got as cocky as to shove her name tag in my face and say "my name is Mabel Ayuk so you can know it when you complain". Such an arrogant nurse is left to look after my family member. I am reporting the various incidents to the medical council. My sister has told me that she is not happy with this nurse' attitude, yet she continues to look after my sister. This type of cocky behaviour is unacceptable in the medical profession. So much for "high care".

My mother had a stroke and ubered herself and my sister to Constantiaberg this past Monday. Was seen by Dr John Gardiner who dismissed her stating her symptoms were stress related, and not a stroke. No more tests were ordered and she was sent home. When she called a nurse to ask about the Prednisone they advised her to take, the nurse was extremely rude to her. Last night we took her to kingsbury who confirmed it was indeed a stroke. We will be investigating this situation, once I have all the details.

In recent years, I've basically only visited people there, not having been hospitalized myself. Once took my daughter there and at the time, they base emergencies on colour codes with what is more urgent, so it took a while before she was seen to. But the service was good and professional.

Billing & patient confidentiality from accounts is an absolute joke. Upon booking surgery, MC provide an overly ambitious estimate, thousands of rands above the actual cost. Patients are forced to pay prior to being admitted. No problem! 1. Now what if your estimate was high and your procedure didnโ€™t cost that much? You can consider that an unwilling donation to the facility. No you do not get a building named after you. They get to keep your money and you fill out a refund form. 2. What if you paid cash and would like money back in kind same day? No, the second you pay cash there is a direct bat channel to beam your money at 6 am to the bank for services not yet rendered (says the customer services man in the extra small suit). Thats right - you pay them, they deposit your money instantaneously for services not yet rendered and donโ€™t refund you if they over estimated. Did i mention that all of my private hospitalization info was sent to someone else in my organization and they had to forward it to me? No apologies from the hospital. Just everyday shenanigans! I do hope South Africa develops a better standard for โ€œprivate hospitalsโ€

My husband had severe discomfort due to urine retention. The medical staff were friendly and helped him immediately. The sister was very professional. The clinic was clean and well organised. The Dr was very helpful and assisted in getting him the treatment he needed.

I have stayed over in a couple of hospitals in Cape Town, and I have to mention that my experience at Constantiaberg was hands down the best hospital. The nursing staff were so caring and gentle. The theater and recovery staff were amazing and warm. Not once did I feel like anyone was too busy or too stressed to see to my needs. You were all delightful, friendly and warm. I will always try and ensure that any further hospital visits will be at constantiaberg! Thank you!

Lovely clean fresh hospital. Very friendly caring staff. My late mom was in the oncology section and they took the utmost care of her. Always with love and compassion. Now my aunt has been there recently, and looked after with care. My car is on auto and knows the way. Thank u so much

ER doctors and nurses were exceptional! A painful & injured ankle and we were dealt with professionally and with care. Even as the ER got busier we were given the same care as when we arrived. From the administrative front desk staff to the triage nurses and the Doctors I highly commend this hospitals out patient process and care. That said stay healthy so you can avoid them ! ๐Ÿ˜…

As a mom who is in different hospital many times a year because of my childโ€™s condition I must say that this one is the best by far! The staff is friendly, well groomed, efficient, respectful to patients (no unnecessary loudness and chit chatting that Iโ€™ve experienced elsewhere). They go out of their way to make sure patients (and parents) are comfortable. The cleaning staff is also working around the clock ensuring that the place is spotless. The doctor prolonged our stay and it didnโ€™t even bother us because we felt at home here. The food is also very nice and offers a wide variety. Thereโ€™s a little coffee shop on the ground floor thatโ€™s also serving fresh meals if you prefer. Well done to the team and management of this hospital. My Joburg people can learn a lot from you ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

My fiance had to go in for a minor op yesterday at 06:45. Initially , front desk and temperature taking was a breeze. I was told to accompany him to waiting area and wait with him. Then followed admission. We were told by front desk to have a seat in the waiting area, someone will assist us. A rude lady come to us, asking if he was to be admitted. She rudely said "Next time you come here you need to sit somewhere else so that we know who to help next. You cant just sit anywhere you feel like." We were taken aback as we were not told this at front desk ? Front desk told me to come pick him at at 11:00. I was back at 10:55. A Mediclinic employee was directing the line at the entrance, and yelling about the wind blowing everything on her desk every time the door opens up. I asked if my Fiance was ready to be picked up. She rudely made a scene about the operation and asked why would I even think that it would be done by 11, there's no way. She said I should think for myself that an Operation and recovery cant be done in 4 hours.I informed her that this very same desk told be to come at 11. She made this scene in front of a whole line of people. All the while redirecting the line and completely ignoring me at times, disregarding me at other times and interrupting me every time she felt the need to talk to someone about the wind. The staff in the ward is no different, and they left him there for 4 and a half hours after he was told to be discharged. We left at 18:15. Staff seems to be a big issue in your facility. And there will not be a next time. Staff have a big chip on their shoulders, and are very cocky. Save yourself a lot of stress, and rather visit one of the Netcare hospitals in your area.

I was admitted to Mediclinic Constiaberg via ER on Saturday 21st July 2019 with pneumonia. The ER Department was exceptional. In particular I would like to Thank Dr. Johnson and the staff for their rapid assessment of my condition, blood tests and x-rays and admission to the Medical Ward by 4pm. I remained in care for 9 days and was provided the very best medical and nursing care in every way. Continual monitoring by friendly and concerned nursing and medical staff checking on my comfort and recovery. An excellent catering service providing a varied and tasty Specialised Menu menu at my request. All meals delivered Hot and on time by the most cheerful and accommodating staff. Wonderful Physiotherapy staff with excellent practical and sensible advice on easing my discomfort and speeding my recovery. I loved our walks together Cassie. Thanks for my move to a beautiful room overlooking the garden, immaculately clean and with wonderful, patient-friendly bathroom and an abundance of towels and hygiene requirements. My Thanks to Dr. Ramchandre my attending Physician who was a true Healer in every sense of the word, committed to my care and well-being. Finally my biggest Thanks to "Team" Constantiaberg Mediclinic for working as a cohesive unit from admission to discharge, every single member of staff giving of their best with good cheer and a smile - that is the True Spirit of Healing and Recovery.

Spent 3 hours in waiting area on Sunday and was dismissed on 2 occasions by 2 lead nurses. Sister Miller who didn't follow up on a query my wife made pertaining my treatment and another nurse who found it OK to have altercation with my wife in the waiting area. My folder was just chucked in waiting area and wasn't attended to until the guy/receptionist tells me to follow the sister's instructions. The guy seemed puzzled as to why my folder was lying in the middle of nowhere... The doctor Terblanche gave me little to no idea with regard to my diagnosis and the treatment I received I basically had to get the diagnosis and understanding of what I underwent on Google. The reputation what Constantia Medi clinic had to what its now is the most extreme opposite... What a Horrid experience! My recommendation your medical aid funds will be better spent at Kingsbury.

Hospitals are not places most of us want to go to, especially when it is an emergency, so hard to review based on need. That said Mediclinic like most big corporates needs to address DEI training for its staff and particularly starting with those in reception and administration and taking down admissions. This process did not come across as LGBTIQA+ aware at all, at the Emergency Admission. Rating is based on that experience.

If there was zero I would give it. The emergency room service is unbelievably none existent. We have been seating in the waiting room for over an hour. On 12.10.23. There are no patients patien yet theno service. How can a private service work like this. Does management care. It's better to shut down that to not care about patients time. Appalling

I recently spent 12 days as patient after undergoing a mastectomy. I can honestly say that I was treated with the utmost respect and care from each and every member of the staff. Starting with the pre admission department, the porters who transported me to and fro, the nursing staff, the catering staff and the cleaners. I could find no fault with anything. Bravo ladies and gents of Constantiaberg

i would like to thank Dr Miller, and Dr Gregory, and his specialized team, the nurses in the High Care Unit, and in ICU , and B Ward, the Physiotherapists, the cleaning staff, the carers, I would name a few, but feel it would be unfair. I was cared for and nurtured with Love, and I am so so happy for all of you who took the time to talk t me, prayed with me, and you did what you loved. i would love to come give each one a big Hug someday and just hold your hands and say thank you.. I was in Hospital for almost 3 Months and what an experience it was, being on life support and paralyzed, thought I would never get off the oxygen, but here I am today alive and well, because of your motivation and love Thank you, Thank you...I will come and greet soon.

Emergency room not an emergency room. Arrived with chest pain last night only to find a sign 2 to 3 hour waiting time. Really bad for an emergency room, this kind of waiting time is for government hospitals. Nonetheless we drove to Rondebosch Medical center where I was attended to immediately. Definitely won't be using Constantia Mediclinic again. Last time a friend of mine had a heart attack, he was turned away saying we don't deal with heart attacks. Without even checking on him. Really terrible

Not somewhere you want to be visiting however somewhere you want to know is there if you need them. I unfortunately had to visit the ER after a light motorcycle accident. It was fairly โ€œquick" for an ER visit as there was no other emergencies at the time. The system and process was smooth and efficient. The place was clean and the staff were very professional yet not too serious which helps under the circumstances.

Absolutely ridiculous. Have to wait 4 hours in ER to get 2 stitches. Nurses just say that a doctor will be with you every 30 mins but no doctor arrives. Ridiculous for an emergency unit. Avoid this place if you have a medical emergency

I took my 2 year old son to the ER on Saturday morning for allergy-related symptoms, he was later admitted for acute anaphylaxis. The ER was busy and yet we did not have to wait long, triage signs were clearly posted and we were attended to accordingly. On arrival, he was immediately seen by a very helpful nurse (Sandile) and taken to a room where my daughter and I were allowed to wait with him. The ER doctor (I did not get her name, unfortunately) was great with him and me, even though he would thrash and cry at times making her job difficult - she was patient, kind and so reassuring - so were all but one of the nurses (didn't get her name either but she was really the only negative factor). The front desk staff handling the admissions were similarly fantastic. A-Ward staff were brilliant and so was Dr Wewege - very reassuring and handling a potentially fatal incident with the necessary urgency and efficiency and making our stay a comfortable one. My son is much, much better today due to the swift care he received. Thank you - my faith in this facility is further restored with this visit. I also need to just comment positively on the Neuroscience division - my daughter has been admitted there several times for her epilepsy and they are always unfailingly brilliant, in every way (Dr Butler and his staff are amazing) - I happened across a couple of current Neuro patients there while taking a rest in the garden and they echoed these sentiments. It is unfortunate that it is usually just a few "rotten eggs" who are singularly unsuited to deal with the ill and infirm, who give places like these a bad name.

Terrible experience at Dr Nadia Naude gynaecologist. Does not listen and very dismissive, I had to follow up twice for blood test results (a week later each time - Pathcare take 2-3 days tops and are very good). Forgot to tick additional blood test boxes on the form (and blamed Pathcare but it was her carelessness) so I had to go back to Pathcare. Nearly missed a small cyst on the ultrasound. No bedside manner and no emoathy. Avoid avoid avoid!!!

Absolutely incompetent covid measures. DO NOT BRING YOUR SICK LOVED ONES HERE. My girlfriend was recently admitted for Irritable bowel syndrome issues, they put her in an isolation ward until her covid tests come out negative, which is understandable. But guess what they did? They brought an old woman next morning with a wheezing Cough (a very indicative sign of Covid) and put her in the SAME ROOM as my High-Risk girlfriend. The old woman was NOT WEARING A MASK, yet the staff continued to lie on the phone and said she was. If my girlfriend gets infected with covid-19, Mediclinic Constantiaberg is responsible for it. We expect more from you due to the fact that you're a private clinic and that we pay 25k for a night there. Absolutely disgraceful.

Brought my mother into ER, as she suffered an asthma attack on Saturday, Nov 23. Wow, the staff in ER were fantastic - from the receptionist, to triage staff, to nursing staff, to the staff drawing blood, taking x-rays, the porters - everyone, was kind in their dealings with my mother, polite and friendly and made the experience for my mother an overall pleasant one. Thank you!

I am really dissapointed in the level of care provided by your nursing staff. Everything is such an effort for them. I really will not reccomend this hospital to anyone. The hospital has excellent doctors/surgeons but the aftercare of patients is really lacking. I am specifically referring to the orthopedic ward where most of the elderly people are.

DO NOT GO TO THIS EMERGENCY ROOM. Having gone to the emergency room twice now with loved ones, I can safely say I will never ever come back. Leaving a head wound (subdural hematoma) for over 2 hours. Charging us an arm and a leg for zero service. This place has no ethics. Needless to say the hippocratic oath has left the building. It is a broken system with overwhelmed nurses and doctors. hire more people, clean up your act, lives are at stake.

My daughter went to casualty as she had serious nausea and diarrhoea and vomiting. She waited 2 hours in reception then another two hours on the bed for attention. Not one person interacted with her to check the severity or on her status. Eventually they left with no medical attention. I find this very disturbing. She is still not well and we are trying to treat her with over the counter meds. I am very disappointed by this and sincere hope management improve their service

My husband was admitted to emergency vomiting blood. Never saw a doctor, only nursing staff, although an account was issued by a doctor. Seems private doctors are working in the emergency ward and also nursing staff who have a casual attitude. DONT BOTHER writing a review as although the hospital says they'll come back to you, THEY DONT!!!!

So the doctors/surgeons I had all took their jobs seriously and did a good job. I'm happy with the nurses in the day and night care sections. What left a bad taste was the lady recieving me at the front desk. Everything was going fine and we were chatting and vibing and filling the info out. Then the way she started interacting with me went to a place I found uncomfortable, she started laughing at me for me being forgetful (it was incredibly early in the morning, I had barely slept and was also anxious about my surgery), which was okaaay... but then she went over and started laughing at me to another lady at the front desk and to another patient that had come in at the same time as me. She wanted that patient to escort me to the daycare section as she didn't believe I would be able to find it on my own. Kind of like I was a child or mentally impaired or something. It made me uncomfortable, embarrassed and angry. I wish I had confronted her in the moment and I potentially wouldn't need to write this review. I'm not sure if she was trying to be mean, but it did seem like she had an empathy blind spot and needed to be worked on.

Reception was helpful- however the doctors on duty were uncommunicative, rude and dismissive. No communication given to loved ones, and the family member I was with was completely brushed off being told she had no need to be at the emergency room (with a broken ankle in two places??) and that she should have known better. Also, overhearing how the doctors on duty were interacting with patients who had just come in with the ambulance was shockingly rude. I understand working in healthcare is incredibly demanding and stressful, but that does not excuse blatently rude and dissmissive behaviour when patients and family memebers are in serious distress. I would not recommend this emergency room if you are looking for clear answers and support.

Due to negligence, I left this hospital with a unstagable pressure sore, which these so called "professionals" treated by allowing my foot to flop over a pillow which then resulted in me having dropped foot. They then bill me and expect me to pay them for fixing the very problem they are responsible for. Doctors with bad communication skills and bedside manner. Not all, but mostly lazy nurses with bad attitudes. Do NOT opt for this place. It is a horrible hospital.

My mother was treated with the utmost care in this facility. From ER to the ward. The nurses have compassion and care. Dr Carr has taken extremely good care of my mother. He is extremely thorough and he cares for his patients. He has kept me up to date on my mothers progress daily. I would like to commend the nurses for their compassion and care. I have seen nurses being verbally abused and treated with so much disrespect from more than 1 patient. Never did any of them retaliate, they remained super professional in really unpleasant situations. Well done and thank you

My elderly mother was in a room with 3 other ladies and her cell phone was stolen in the early hours of the morning. The only people who would have had access was the staff!! When we lodged a complaint we were informed that they had discovered a group of 4 men wandering around the hospital on the security footage which is completely unacceptable!! We were moaned at for 2 visitors at the bed because of Covid but an unexplained group of 4 men walk around the hospital, outside of visiting hours unchecked?? The hospital have refused to replace the phone so my mom had a knee replacement and then the last piece of her independence taken away under their care!! Shocking!!!

Daughter was brought in at 8:30 and two hours later still waiting . Fainted due to fever and I had to ask for something. All bed occupied and 1 doctor. YOU pay silly money but the service sucks we will never come back and will rather drive further to get better service. Follow up to my previous comment -: after posting this yesterday the 31st May, we had someone from the Constantiaberg call this morning (1st June) and wanted a detailed explanation of what transpired during our visit yesterday, although the service during our stay was horrible I was very impressed with the follow up call and how serious they took this matter. Well done on good Customer Service ! .

Constantiaberg ER: If I could give minus stars I would. Avoid at all cost and go elsewhere. I am very sorry to have taken my already traumatized daughter there, suffering from head injuries from a seizure and consequently concussion... only to wait for 2.5 hours before she checked herself out to go home. Only *then* did a doctor appear to make her sign paperwork that she was leaving "against medical advice". What medical advice, exactly??? Prior to this we had a nurse examine an open wound with no gloves, a refusal to contact her neurologist to give her her epilepsy meds, an ignoring of her vomiting and continued nausea, resulting in her picking up a bin full of medical waste to catch her vomit!! Absolutely neglectful at best, medically negligent too. Her formal complaints were met with management protecting the staff, and denying some of the things that took place THAT I SAW WITH MY OWN eyes. Now we have to pay R2000 so they don't sic lawyers on us. Disgraceful conduct, I wish I had just let her go home and sleep, but being a responsible mom and knowing what concussion looks like, I thought she needed medical attention. Never again.

Disgusting service. My partner ended up walking out, whilst still recovering from anesthetic because no one brought her a wheelchair after 40 minutes and after it was asked 3 times. Found the wheelchairs at the front just sitting there after walking only 5 minutes from the day care. Waiting with her during recovering before this I did not get any glimpse of the kind of patient care one would expect from a private facility. Shame!

If I could rate them a zero, I would. On the 2nd July 2023 at around 8:20pm I entered the hospital. Did the triage and waited 4hrs until 12pm. No Dr seen me nor did they even come to meet and greet with me. How putrite is their service. They have a don't care attitude towards the sick and I'll. Not sure why they are even practicing. Probably for the money I guess, not for the love of helping others. I walked out, they just looked at me with a don't care attitude. I must say, the nurses were very helpful

If I could give minus stars I would do that!! Had the worst experience at the emergency unit Thursday, 25 April at 17:15. My 5 month old baby fell a meter high and hit her head on the tiles. No bleeding but still swollen, bruised head and knees. We arrived at the unit, after 2 hours a nurse came to check on us and said it could take 2 more hours for a Dr to see her. No private space to breastfeed and no sympathy from the staff. We eventually went to Melomed in Tokai at 8pm, they confirmed she has a concussion. Fast and reliable service with them. Who on earth let's a baby wait for hours for an emergency service??? Won't trust them ever again with my or my families live.

Iโ€™ve been to Mediclinic Constantiaberg for surgery twice and every time I leave so unsatisfied with the service. Especially from the nursing staff. Wow itโ€™s really bad. The first was a day surgery so I didnโ€™t have to spend the night. But the last one I had to spend the night. So unfortunate because the Doctors there are amazing but the people who need to take care of you through out your stay have horrible attitudes, in no hurry to help and not bothered at all. Like they donโ€™t want to be there. Thatโ€™s why I opted to give birth at Mediclinic Cape Town. Itโ€™s far but way better service. I only go here when referred by my Dr and the best Dr happenes to be there. And when I saw the bill. Iโ€™m like 50k for what??????

I have never given a Google review to a hospital before, but Constantiaberg Mediclinic has been outstanding for the shoulder operation I had to have. The ward nurses, theatre staff and tea ladies are kind, gentle, compassionate, professional and world class. Thank you๐Ÿ™

My sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at the emergency and surgical units at Constantiaberg for taking such good care of me this past Sunday and Monday. Everyone was professional, friendly, and displayed so much care. A special mention to the ladies at the Constantiaberg pharmacy, who after leaving my electronic device there unattended, was able to return it to me today after I thought it was lost or stolen. Thank you. ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿซถ

Was Admitted on the 15th September 2019 for 4 days in the medical award. I was impressed by how efficient the nurses and Dr's were, the staff were all friendly and helpful, and the ward was spotless and clean. Ironically this made my hospital stay pleasant. Thank You and keep it up

Nursing staff and general staff like catering etc are fantastic and very friendly. What is lacking is a an absolute lack of communication in aspects towards patients and families. What they forgetting is they dealing with people and emotions and its just as important to keep people informed as to treat patients needs. Unnecessary anxiety and stress in whats already a stressful environment.

I had a 5 hour surgical procedure done here and prior to my operation I read reviews and was really nervous about the staff, food & general care....BUT I was pleasantly surprised. The amazing staff working in the surgical staff were warm, friendly, helpful, gentle, attentive, with a joke here and there. To name a view unsung women who go way and.beyond their job with passion are : Nomalizo, Jean the night sister and Fundiswa Zongwana. You have renewed my faith in hospitals and that their are still awesome nurses who view their job as a calling/passion. Thank you Thank you Thank youโค๏ธ wish I could remember everyone's names, but your faces and kindness I will treasure. Shockingly understaffed EMERGENCY room of all things. I shudder at the thought that this is a private hospital in one of the best areas of the best city in SA and a person canโ€™t even get medical attention in reasonable time. Not good enough at all!

I went to Constantiaberg emergency room 2 weeks ago and arrived just before 12am with my son who suffered from sports injury. We sat for 1 an half hours before we were attended and he was in pain. Eventually he was attended to and when all was done I was told I would received a call the following day to arrange a MRI booking for my son as there could be internal injuries. I gave my number and my husbands no. and in the meantime I should contact the orthopedic surgeon. I then contacted the orthopedic surgeon the following day and was advised I should first do my MRI scan and get the results then make an appointment.. So i waited and 3 days later i still received no call for an appointment, I then took it upon myself to contact the radiology department at Constaniaberg where i was then assisted with an appointment for the following week. We have gone to the appointment last week Tuesday an to date we have not had any feedback. No process was explained to myself or my husband and it will be 3 weeks later and my son still has no idea how bad his knee injury. Very disappointing to have experienced such sloppy service from a private hospital. I will surely not be going back to this hospital and will definitely not recommend. As for the doctor on duty that night, he showed no empathy as he still questioned me when i requested a doctors note for my son to be kept at home the following day an keeping in mind we were discharged at 3am in the morning.

Emergency unit undermined our urgent Covid-19 enquiry based on the condition of my parents who were very much out of shape, we do not play around with hospital visits. And the nursing staff treated us very condescendingly as if we were making a joke and didn't know what an emergency means. Very pathetic response I would have to say and honestly disgusted. This whole incident occurred at around 18:15. My father was taken in at that time and came out again after 3 hours, having nothing actually done, all they did was take his blood pressure and want to put him on a drip. He still hadn't been tested for covid even though his symptoms were in line with it. The staff on duty were working as if they had no patients to see to

My daughter Mine was admitted to the Neoroscience ward for her treatment of epilepsy for 21 days. Dr James Butler, Sebastian and rest of the nursing (day and night) staff was so helpful and friendly and very profesional, the service was exceptional, we like to thank them for everything - and hope them all the best! That is service with a smile.

The most extraordinary care at Mediclinic Constantiaberg... My sister Ronell Meintjes Harvey had to undergo brain surgery to remove a 5cm tumour to the right back side of her brain that was affecting her vision and movement. Dr Zayne Domingo took the time to explain everything in detail to us. We left his rooms in a much better state than when we entered. Dr Neil Moodley was the anethetist. My whole family agrees that never in our lives have we experienced such compassion and care. They kept us up to date via whatsup every hour as to what was happening during surgery. Where in your life have u ever heard of such a thing? Their care was phenomenal. The care displayed by the staff in the Critical Care Unit was also incredible. At the end of the day behind every surgeons knife there is a human being with a heart. Many times they are said to have no social skills or bedside manners...but this was not the case with Dr Domingo. He was incredible and the surgery was successful. She is surprising them with her progress and when I thanked the 2 of them they said that she is a strong woman and an inspiration to THEM. Just felt these 2 doctors needed recognition for the way they go beyond their call of duty. Humanity at its best. Xxx

I experienced consistent kindness, care and professionalism from the staff at ER to the day and night staff at C ward. Nurses, doctors, porters, radiologists, cleaning, catering and administrative staff were uniformly deserving of credit and thanks.

Took my 9month old baby to the emergency rooms he had a really high fever nurses were great the Dr I saw was incompetent check his throat and ears told us to give him neurofin (like we didn't do that already) and sent us home we spent a whole of 10 minutes there and it costed us R1300 because he was admitted we weren't covered and you pay separately for the Dr and the emergency services so almost R700 for the Dr to check his throat and ears and R600 for be weighed by a nurse and for him to sit on a bed. It's been a full day and still haven't heard back from the ear and throat checker (the Dr on duty) who said she would call to check in on the same day. Currently still struggling with my baby with a high fever and no answers but will rather wait to see his paeds then go back to this place.

Incredibly slow ER ward and care - only one doctor on duty with over a three hour wait time for care. Left us waiting with no information for hours, and waited hours for x-rays results. For emergency care this is terrible.

(Translated by Google) Now that it has been renovated, it looks like a 5-star hotel ... but it is a hospital so I evaluate patient care first ... My mom went to the emergency room for suspected death. After many blood tests, they discharged her and told her that she had a panic attack. The next day we asked for a copy of the exams and she had a lot of busted values, in fact there were many items with the ** therefore high risk. Now the After talking to our doctor, the hospital offered to redo and monitor the values โ€‹โ€‹clearly for free .... but that's not the point (Original) Ora che e' ristrutturato sembra un albergo a 5 stelle....ma e' un ospedale quindi valuto prima la cura del paziente...

Donโ€™t ever go to this hospital with a bleeding child. My daughter was bitten in the face by a dog. When we arrive at emergency we were made to wait in the waiting room until my wife questioned this. We were then taken to a room by a nurse with no patient skills told we will need a plastic surgeon Short story is as I am writing this we have been waiting over an hour now with no doctor seeing my daughter and no plastic surgeon called. Donโ€™t come here.

The head of cardio is empathetic and even gives u his WhatsApp number to engage. It feels as if he runs a tight ship. Things get a bit tardy when he is not around. Some nurses overstep by making judgemental comments or even talk in the lifts about their colleagues which is uncomfortable

Severely understaffed. Went in for an emergency on Friday night that just required stitches, and sat waiting for someone to attend to me for 4 hours. The doctor was amazing, but it was clear that she was overworked and there were not enough doctors to help. Today (Monday), I had to go back for a follow up just to have a dressing change, for which I had an appointment made for 10:30am. Waited for an hour and half before telling them I had to leave, and the next appointment could only be made for Thursday. To have a plaster changed. Only one doctor on duty, and the waiting room was full of people. I myself am in the medical field, and I understand that you canโ€™t plan for the day and what is going to come in, but to have only one doctor on duty at a well-respected facility is ridiculous. I eventually left and told them that I would look after the wound myself. I cannot wait until Thursday to have a plaster changed. Very unsatisfied with the communication and lack of staff.

Got the best care here. One of the things that really impressed me were how friendly and efficient the staff were. I also want to thank Dr Van der Schyff who assisted with making sure I got taken care of when admitted. The hospital has free parking ( which is rare for a private hospital). The hospital is very clean and welcoming and offers a range of services.

The service wasnt terrible at the ER and the staff were friendly but I was just disappointed that my daughter was not admitted/ kept for further observation after I mentioned all her symptoms and had a note written by a doctor who said she should be admitted for possible viral pneumonia. She had a blood test and xray and I was sent home because results seemed clear despite me mentioning how lethargic she is with spiking fevers and that shes been coughing for a month. I was given a script for saline and pain meds which I was using however 2 days later I went to a GP because I was not happy with how she was and the GP immediately sent me to a different hospital, my daughter got admitted immediately for viral pneumonia and is now in high care severly sick on oxygen. I am so disappointed that this couldve been avoided. I was there on saturday and my daughter is now in hospital for almost a week because her condition got so much worse over those 2 days. My grandfather had the very same experience a month ago when they sent him home without detecting a bladder infection. He has passed on from this infection, im not saying its the hospitals fault im just saying that they need to be more thorough.

The issue with this emergency center is it was not designed for multiple emergencies all at once. This sentiment carries through to the low staffing of doctors and nurses, putting immense strain on the those who are on duty. When the long wait is over, the staff, are everything they should be, despite the pressures they are working under.

Worst casualty experience one can encounter. You'd probably be better off at government hospitals. Don't go there, go to Kingsbury. Charged us R800 to give panado and that took 3 hours to do. Charged us R2500 once because they "monitored" our son. My wife sat alone with our 1 year old at the time in the casualty unit. No one "monitored" them.

The treatment of my 89 year old grandmother was a disgrace. After colon cancer last year she was rushed to hospital after her inability to contain her bowels. Once there she was told they were busy and return later. She went home and a private ambulance had to be called to get her in. Upon admission she had a accident in the hospital bed, upon which the nurse shouted at her because they just made her bed and she could not return until she finished her bowels. An hour later she returned because she was humiliated for having no control. I am utterly disgusted at the indignity my grandmother had to endure. This is a private hospital! Further action will be taken!

What a shocking experience we just had at Constantiaberg medi clinic. A so-called private hospital. My daughter was vomiting uncontrollably with a terrible strep throat and pain and fever and the triage nurse said she couldnโ€™t say how long it would take for her to be put in a bed because there were no beds and 3 people in front of us. Then we heard the man behind us saying that his wife with similar symptoms had been waiting to be seen for several hours. Then my daughter started fainting and wanted to lie on the floor. The triage nurse again said there was nothing she could do and she again couldnโ€™t say how long it would take for my daughter to be attended to. The attitude of all staff was shocking but the triage nurse took first prize. We decided to leave and went straight to Kingsbury Hospital. Within 2 minutes my daughter was in a bed and 5 minutes later was on a drip. What amazing service. If you value your families health DO NOT GO TO CONSTANTIABERG MEDICLINIC.
