Lovely views from the beach and if you're lucky, you'll might see some seals come of the water around the fish market. That said, the beach had a nauseating smell presumably from a contaminated river that empties into it. Away from the beach though are lovely nautical themed restaurants and a couple of gift shops worth checking out. The not-so-cheap ice-cream stand serves cheap tasting frozen treats that are nonetheless fun to have in the summer heat. Finally, there's a boat ride that leaves the harbour for a sail around the bay just make sure to arrive before 1pm to book a spot!

A lovely beach! Parking is a bit limited during peak hours, but not bad. There are restrooms available, but you must bring your own toilet paper.

This is a typical fishers village with a nice beach and a fisherman’s wharf with local artisanal products, boats and restaurants to eat at. Local people playing a typical instrument is interesting but after a while was annoying. Seals are trained to take photos with tourists with someone acting as it’s β€œtrainer” asking for money after you take the photo.

Best and most beautiful beach around. Views are amazing, great place for some peace, serenity and just relaxation there are many little restaurants on or near the beach that are beautiful and great places to eat and drink at.

This is by far my best beach in Cape Town. Rarely very full, beautiful scenery and often the mountains block the wind a bit. The sunsets are amazing even if the water is often so cold I hardly ever swim there

Lots of pollution and broken glass. The tide pool is not human friendly anymore. They have not been maintaining this beach like they use to back in the days.

Good rest rooms, beach of crushed shell. Lots of shells, mermaid's money and sea glass for kiddies to collect. Very close to Sea Point. Doesn't get heaving busy.

Gorgeous beach, always a favourite. Situated close to a few seafood eateries. So definitely a must on your bucket list for Capetown. Unfortunately, swimming is still very much prohibited. But you can enjoy the view with an ice cream

You can park your car and sit in it if you so prefer looking over the ocean. There is a few quaint restaurants and pubs around this beach area too for a sundowner. Take a drive up Chapman's Peak for a view of the entire beach and harbour.

had a very nice time at this beach with my friend. we hung out by the parley container then walked down the white sand. there were some really weird jelly egg inflated things on the beach which was interesting and confusing, but amazing views as you can see from these couple of photos that i will post after i finish typing :) ty

Nice small beach to enjoy with friends or family. Limited space so won't feel full. Toilets on beach as well. Kids can play in rock pools. Shells everywhere so bring sandals.

Lived in the area for 6 months. It's a beach in Cape Town, they're all okay at best because of the cold water (although this particular beach has some of the warmer waters in CT I believe) and guaranteed wind at some point in the day - the wind generally picks up from 15:00/16:00 depending on the day and season. Unfortunately my wife and I didn't always feel safe at the beach. That being said, cool vibe, people generally friendly, some of the shops around there are cool (some pricey).

A really nice place for a beach walk , there are also sand dunes worth exploring . But be careful for ticks as you walk through the bush land. The arent too harmful except that they are plentiful and love getting on clothes and skin. We just gave our dog and ourselves a good bath after the hike and were fine.

South Africa's Hout Bay is a charming coastal suburb close to Cape Town. Hout Bay, which is well-known for its scenic surroundings and quaint village-like atmosphere, provides a delightful respite from the bustle of the city. The main draw of Hout Bay is its magnificent bay, which is framed by breathtakingly beautiful mountains that are covered in lush greenery. The bay itself is a haven for water sports enthusiasts, offering a variety of water activities like boating, fishing, and even the chance to see seals and dolphins. Fresh seafood can be found at the many restaurants and eateries lining the waterfront in the bustling Hout Bay Harbour, where you can learn about the local fishing culture. One of the highlights of Hout Bay is Chapman's Peak Drive, a picturesque route that follows the cliffs along the coast. The route is a favorite among both locals and visitors due to the breathtaking views of the ocean and the surrounding countryside that it offers. With craft fairs, quaint shops, and art galleries to explore, the town center of Hout Bay has a relaxed and artistic vibe. Visitors will feel comfortable as they stroll through the quaint streets thanks to the neighborhood's friendliness and welcoming atmosphere. The World of Birds Wildlife Sanctuary and Monkey Park in Hout Bay, which is home to numerous bird species and other animals, is a must-see location. Hout Bay does face some obstacles, though, just like any other place. Traffic congestion and crowding in some areas are possible during the busiest tourist seasons. When engaging in water activities, it's also wise to exercise caution with your possessions and be mindful of the environment. Overall, Hout Bay is a great vacation spot for those who love the outdoors, want to have an exciting experience, and want to unwind by the coast. While exploring the Cape Town region, it is a location worth visiting due to its beauty and distinctive charm.

Nestled between Chapman's Peak and Hout Bay Harbour this is a great walking beach. Very popular with dog walkers. If you are fortunate you can see the local Cape otters, dolphine and seals.

Tranquil, nice views and very calm waters makes this one if my favourite beaches to visit. With food places right on hand at the harbour makes it even better for a family outing.

Very beautiful beach. Everyday is different as the tide brings up all sorts onto the beach. From seaweed to litter....so depends on the tide what your expierence will be and this changes. Doggies are welcome on the one side. Often dolphins can be seen in the sea.

A beautiful white sand beach. The ocean water is naturally very cold so not pleasant for a swim, but a dream for a boat or yacht ride. The surrounding mountain views are encapsulating. The beach is also surrounded by many good restaurants and bars. In short, a must see.

Great when the tide comes in. (A pity the municipality got rid of several tons of shells some years back, which corroded the beach). There's a tidal pool in the right corner, which the tide cleans out and can feel like a chacuzzi and is a delight... And there is a small part of the beach where one can wade in for a dip, and some wave dunks. Also lovely to sunbath here, or have a private early morning beach to yourself. All sparkly and magical.
