I went to this place to enjoy a lovely afternoon with their coffee and chocolate cheesecake! All their chocolates are handcrafted with high quality and organic ingredients! Definitely love their cheesecake with nuts to add a bit crunchy, and then in the middle is the soft, creamy filling and at the bottom is the chocolate. Not too sweet and it just matched with their coffee so much! I also bought an 80% dark chocolate as souvenirs! Definitely worth it! Bookmark this place if you visiting Cape Town! Its a GEM! Not only coffee and chocolate, it also has a bubble bar and another bar inside this magical place!

I went for a chocolate tasting at Honest Chocolate Cafe. I was greeted very friendly and the service was fast! The tasting was great with a variety of chocolates to taste, all made inhouse. It was a very pleasant experience and would recommend to do a tasting if you have the time. You also get a free slab of your favourite chocolate 🍫

My son is a chocolate-lover!!! So when he heard about hot chocolate and chocolate cake... he wanted to go!!! We specially picked the coldest day in CT to enjoy this chocolate cafe. When you walk into the shop, you can smell the chocolate aroma in the room. Their chocolate and cake displays are set up so nicely, and I love their menu on the wall. Everything is chocolate and more chocolate. We ordered their hot chocolate (as mentioned, it was a coldish day) and a double dark chocolate cake. My son ate all the cake without sharing, and I drank the hot chocolate. They used real unsweetened chocolate to make the hot chocolate, so it wasn't to my son's taste. I did add some sugar, but it was still very strong chocolate taste. My only regret was not trying more chocolate options like their brownies or the chocolate bunny chow. Definitely next time and buying their chocolate slabs. It is a bit pricey, but you can't argue because they do use good quality chocolate to make their drinks and confectioneries. I gave them a 4-star, but not because it was not good. Their cake was tasty (not too sweet, not too heavy, or too rich). The sponge was less moist, and the hot chocolate was just not creamy or warm enough for me. They brought the food and took the order correctly but there was not much service (you order, they bring and that is it.) And the place is cozy and they got that 'alley look and feel to the place'... you just want people to sit longer and use the space more to have that vibe to the place.

We stumbled upon this cafe one evening while heading to The Gin Cafe. Since it was late, I didn’t try the coffee but we had several desserts. I ordered a caramel chocolate cheesecake and the banana bread ice cream volcano. They were both divine! It’s definitely a place to stop in for delicious treats and the service was so friendly. A great gem of a place.

The small chocolate shop is a coffee, sorry chocolate shop with the most delicious eats, treats and hot or cold drinks. It's a great spot, love the vibe and atmosphere. Staff are great and friendly. I'm gonna be controversial and say its not transgender friendly, not because of staff, other patrons made it quite clear they didn't appreciate my presence or want to see me there. Perhaps if people weren't so judgemental about appearance they wouldn't project their insecurity onto others.

There's a lot more here than meets the eye, with lots of space. As many other reviewers have mentioned, pretty much everything that could be made from chocolate: drinks, cake, muffins, truffles, chocolate slabs, chocolates proper, and, of course "probably" the best brownies in the world. My son has been telling me about this little place he found. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but I was pleasantly surprised once we entered! The Honest Chocolate Café,Wale Street, Cape Town, serves delicious baked goods and drinks made from dark chocolate. You have to try as much as possible! I left feeling like I’ve overloaded on chocolate but it was truly worth it! Love the little courtyard with the rustic walls.

It’s your choice - and it’s a hard choice if you don’t wanna get a sugar-shock! We tried also milkshake (with a mashed brownie inside), which has been quite the best milkshake I ever had. This is hands down the best vegan restaurant I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. The atmosphere is incredible, from the cozy inside with lots of animal decorations and signs, to the outside with beautiful artwork and a very nice outdoor dining setup with heaters and a big tent. The people who work there are wonderful. You can tell they care about animals, great food and providing the best customer service around. The food- where do I begin?! It's the best food I've eaten in my entire life, even pre-vegan days. They have put their heart and soul into the restaurant and the menu and it shows. If you get the chance to go, take it! No restaurant will ever compare. Many have one aspect or another, but Oh My Soul has covered all the bases with an enjoyable experience and delicious food!

I really like the vibe of the place. Vert rustic and earthly. The overall quality of the food was quite good. Didn't care for how sweet the wingz were as I was expecting a more savory profile. Would have been five stars but the portions for sides is quite small and I find their cocktails to be overpriced for a restaurant of this genre. I pay 15 for drinks that include a rooftop, 4 and 5 star dining, or some other memorable dining experience such as live instrumentation. This restaurant while cute isn't a fancy enough place in my opinion to warrant the price they charge for adult beverages. That part left a sour taste in my mouth which would mostly make me pass on dining again as libations are a part of my enjoyment when out socializing. Too many other options that offer more complete dining experiences at competitive pricing. Disappointing but it's quite a place if you're into chic and trendy.

Hands down the best Vegan restaurant in the greater Charlotte area. With not a lot of vegan options in Charlotte, this restaurant is a true gem for both vegans and non-vegans who want to try something new and different. I also love that the owners who are from South Africa infuse their culture in the dishes and atmosphere of the restaurant.

The staff are super friendly with a very great story about their origins. Really great vibes, especially if you are looking for a Covid pick me up. I told the owner, I knew the food was going to be good, but I had no idea it was going to be so great! The live music was awesome, too. Austin McNeil who was the feature live artist was amazing as well!!! It seems like a really great place to hang out at all day.

NONE of our food tasted good and we couldn't eat it any of it, only a small taste. We had to order a vegan meal from Burger King. It was my daughter's birthday and she was so disappointed. Not at all what we expected. Spent lots of money so won't be going back to spend more.

A great find. Quiet, tucked away courtyard and a variety of chocolate treats. The brownies lived up to their reputation and chocolate cake was excellent. Next time though I'll have plain coffee instead of mocha, it turns out that you can have too much chockie! Who would have known?

This cafe is for people with a sweet tooth. I had ordered some brownies and milkshakes. The milkshakes were very good, but got a little sickening towards the end because of how sweet it was. Other than that, I quite enjoyed my visit here. It’s a very casual environment, with indoor and outdoor seatings. I would say it’s a picture worthy place if you want to get some good dessert pictures!

I can't articulate how amazing this place is. The atmosphere, the food and drinks. I forgot to ask for their name ,but as I walked in, I asked the person at the counter to pick a drink for me. They picked an ice something chocolate. That tasted amazing, not too sweet nor thick. With two croissants 🥹hear me out, those croissants were "oh so heavenly." 10/10

Honest is a CBD gem. Suited for digital nomads, chocolate lovers and architectural enthusiasts, this cafe is an unexpectedly serene and picturesque, with wonderful Wi-Fi. Rather expensive, but the quality is comparable - I went for the iced chocolate with oat milk. The staff are relaxed and attentive, but moreso on the shy side. Overall, it gets a double thumbs up from me for its gorgeous setting, mellow team and divine drinks. Definitely recommend for friend dates or for a quiet afternoon catching up on work.

Been here on multiple occasions, and this is a true chocolate lovers cafe. They have a good variety of chocolate products from cakes and bars to milkshakes and coffees. Expect intense flavour, deep earthy cacao confectionary and skilled chocolate crafting. I don't enjoy chocolate milkshakes at all but particularly liked the milkshake I had at Honest. I could say it's the only chocolate milkshake I'll ever buy. The cafe itself is in a heritage building that has a very unique Cape Town feel and character. A beautiful, fuss free, simple space with a courtyard you'll definitely remember. Great on a warm summer day.

I have no complaints ,The Honest Chocolate Café’s Banana bread bunny chow was delicious! The ice cream on top was just the right amount of vanilla bean and not too sweet at all, the ganache atop it was wonderfully dark and just sweet enough to balance the whole dessert out. The spiced nut caramel tart was delicious; the crust was slightly crunchy and the caramel was not too sweet, but if ordering many desserts I would definitely recommend ordering a cup of tea with everything as the desserts do tend to be quiet rich. The pricing is not too expensive considering what you are getting. Overall this place is a must!

I used to like this place. There is a hidden garden in the back that is very quiet and peaceful. I used to big fan of their vegan chocolate cake but now you can only taste baking soda without chocalate. Coffee is moderately good.

This rustic little cafe has some epic chocolate desserts, all the gluten free options and vegan options are amazing! I really enjoy the relaxed ambiance, and the great cappuccino. If you come in a little later and chocolate isn’t really your thing, there is the ‘Secret Gin Bar’ in the back of the cafe. 😉

This is one of the most underrated places in Charlotte! The food is exceptional, the drinks are on point, and the service can’t be beat! The live music in the back of the restaurant is lovely, as well. They serve delicious gluten free food in addition to being a vegan restaurant. My husband and I love bringing friends here! The food was DELICIOUS! They have this kinda vegan rib thing omg it taste WOWOWOWOWOW GOOD OK. everything from the decor to the back patio was extremely pleasing and fantastic! This was our first time there and it won’t be our last. Good social distance protocols here and making a beautiful “backyard” area. A Plus! Prices are about what to expect eating healthy and moderately clean.

I cannot believe that I haven't heard more about this place. There is something delicious for every mood: burgers, comfort food, salads, breakfast, smoothies, cocktails, coffee, shakes, sweets, snacks and probably more. Every single staff member is consistently friendly, polite and helpful. We really love the good vibes of this place and the South African flavors. I really can't say enough good things.

We stopped here for breakfast this morning and I LOVED the tofu scramble 😃 it said creamy which made me question it but it was the perfect tofu scramble! Hubby got the French toast but he is a very plain eater so he wasn’t a fan of all the toppings on it but they were super accommodating and sweet! Would definitely come back. Only downfall is you have to eat outside right now with COVID and its a lil tough for us FL people in 35 degrees lol but that’s totally understandable ❤️

This is place so lovely. It’s small and petit but gives you the good feels. It’s a special little spot. The choc is great, it’s not my fave coffee. The look and feel is stunning and makes you feel at home.
