I
have
become
aware
of
the
contents
of
a
post
on
this
platform
by
my
former
patient,
Ms
PM,
whom
I
treated
3
years
ago
in
2018.
Whilst
I
would
not
usually
post
comment
on
open
platforms,
on
the
basis
of
patient
privilege,
given
that
this
appears
to
have
been
substantially
waived,
by
Ms
P
M
and
my
professionalism
is
being
questioned
in
the
public
domain,
I
have
no
option
but
to
respond
here.
The
aim
of
my
response
is
to
try
and
address
her
grievances
and
provide
some
insight
into
decision-making,
at
the
time.
I
will
refrain
from
disclosing
personal
information
regarding
treatment,
diagnosis,
or
condition.
Many
of
the
allegations
referred
to
in
the
post
are
factually
inaccurate.
Any
conduct
on
my
part
was
carried
out
with
her
best
interests
in
mind.
I
do
not
take
lightly
my
ethical
duties
in
the
medical
profession,
and
am
committed,
at
all
times,
to
the
management
of
each
and
every
patient
with
their
well-being
and
progress
at
the
forefront.
At
times,
I
am
required
to
take
certain
steps
to
uphold
my
ethical
duty
towards
the
public
at
large
as
well,
and
this
case
was
no
different.
I
take
grave
exception
to
your
unsupported
claims
that
I
have
in
any
way
behaved
unprofessionally.
In
essence,
I
did
not
disclose
any
confidential
information
to
any
party
without
consent.
I
also
did
not
“force”
her
to
take
any
steps
that
were
not
discussed
with
her,
or
that
were
not
in
her
best
interests.
-
I
did
meet
with
the
employer,
on
request.
-
This
was
done
with
consent,
which
was
given
freely
and
voluntarily.
We
openly
discussed
my
doing
so,
and
there
was
no
coercion,
whatsoever.
-
During
my
discussions
with
the
employer,
I
did
not
divulge
any
information
outside
the
scope
of
that
which
you
consented
to
my
disclosing,
at
the
time.
I
sincerely
hope
that
this
clarifies
my
position.
I
wish
her
all
the
best.
Kind
regards,
Dr
