An area of outstanding Natural Beauty. A must see, beautiful open area for hikes, a lovely drive, the beaches, wildlife. The views from Cape Point Lighthouse are extremly beautiful. It was very windy which was fun as the view point from the lighthouse is at the highest point. You can get the funicular cart from the car park to the nearly the top , then a staircase for the final section.

Now, you are talking about spectacular views and experiences. Breath taking sites. The climb up the mountain to the light house is well worth it. But you have to be fit, it's not for everyone. But once you reach the top, it's awesome, and the wind is so strong that you have to hold on to your hat and glasses. The trek to the ocean is a little tedious and dangerous. One old couple had to be rescued. But the experience is not something you would want to miss. Remember YOLO. THE ride to the Cape of Good Hope was very scenic.

You can almost call it a life-changing experience. The views will sweep you off your feet, and you'll get to breathe in some of the freshest air you've ever tasted. Wonderful experience, a floral kingdom. I will be sure to go back.

A satellite view of the Cape Point would mesmerize you, from the tip point resembling dagger, and the incredible views of the two sides of an ocean as a meeting place of where cold and warm waves collide. The National Park is rich with fauna with a natural setting developed by millions of years of erosion. Cape Point forms part of the Table Mountain National Park, daring visitors with it’s hiking trails, it is one of the most important natural station for sailors, offering a lighthouse built to show the way.

What a beautiful national park, with scenery to die for... The ocean front is kept clean and one can see that visitors to the park respect the nature and keeps it clean. There is a restaurant where you can buy some eats and cold drinks, but the views beats all of this. You are welcome to take your own picnic basket and enjoy lunch by the seaside. Entry for SA citizens are R90 per adult.

The staff is very polite and friendly. The Funicular was very good and spectacular. The walks by the old lighthouse are amazing. The views are too beautiful for words. It is really the Cape of Good Hope and a meeting place with our loving God. 👍❤️🇮🇹😉🙏

Absolutely stunning breathtaking sea views, beautiful natures view. The sea breezes to the top of the mountain. Enjoyed the ride with the cart (funicular) to the top of the mountain. However it still remains a mistery where Indian and Atlantic Oceans meets, I thought it would be visible to eye🤩 Make sure to bring a warm jacket to the top...

So beautiful nature reserve for everyone weather you love to hike, walk, cycle, run etc. splendid views and natural beauty all around. There are various hiking trails from easy to moderate and upto 20km in length. There are also overnight huts in this reserve which need to be booked in advance. You gonna love the views all around and if you love photography, this place is for you to capture the moments.

Excellent and great place to bring entire family and overseas guests. Amazing views and plenty to see and explore. That long ride in, gives you the opportunity to see ostriches and the family of baboons. It’s a great hiking and overnight place. Enjoyed the cable car up to the light house but came too late to enjoy the restaurant and the gift shop. Very pricey for entire family and overseas guests.

It's great for tourists; however, if you are a local (South Africa), it can get quite expensive as is the restaurant and per person just for the day. On the contrary, this stunning Reserve offers extraordinary hikes with hidden coastal pools, beaches, rock pools, picnic spots, and more. You can hike for days as there is an overnight hiking trail with huts, running water, and electricity. There are also great monuments and landscape structures that are also to be seen with a wide range of indigenous wildlife from springbuck to osterages

Price for South African citizens, makes it affordable to visit. Wear comfortably shoes, as there is a steep walk to the top. You can however take the funicular, if you are not able to walk well. Be aware that the baboons walk around freely, so keep your food well hidden.

Beautiful - you could spend a whole day exploring. Felt expensive at 400R for an international visitor but it's worth it for a whole day. Lots of nice spots for picnics.

It's a long way to get there, but it's definitely worth it. The views are beyond breathtaking, and ofcourse, you cannot visit the Cape Point without visiting the Cape of Good Hope. There are restrooms, souvenir shops, a cafe, and a restaurant and for the brave, a hiking trail. It is truly an iconic place to visit.

Situated at the bottom point of South Africa and Africa in total, lies the majestic and breath taking views of the Cape Point National Park. The park is in great condition and the premises are maintained extremely well. Once entering the park, you drive a few kilometers through some slightly winding roads (but please be on the look out for wildlife - such as baboons). The speed limit is 40km/hour so I strongly suggest you stick to it. Once you get up to the point, you will be welcomed by an amazing team, where you have the option to hike the trail up to the point or to take the tram (if you are not active, I strongly suggesting paying the money for the tram because it’s a steep hike). I promise you when you get to the top of Cape Point, your mind will be blown by the exquisite views. If you find yourself in Cape Town, as a local or a tourist this is just one of those things you have to at least do once in your life time.

So beautiful and well maintained. Just wish there was a discounted rate for locals for the tram as it's all very tourist orientated. Even the "restaurant" is very expensive. 5 stars for the beautiful nature though. Absolutely loved taking in the sights and will go back again.

Where the 2 oceans meet. Sadly it was too windy and the sea extremely choppy so the line was not visible . Lots of tourists on the day and so many different sites to swim , picnic, braai or just sit and absorb the natural beauty surrounding you. There's quite a few baboons and 4 legged creatures around so be cautious 😁 Best to bring your water bottle and suitable snacks if you spending a few hours there as the shop there had the bare minimum on that day. The Flying Dutchman is R80 per person to go up to the top or you have the option of walking up the winding path for free. There's a quaint tourist shop with all types of memorabilia to choose from as you exit from the top to make your way down. Prices are quite reasonable considering the items on display.

Great place. Non-South Africa citizens pay R300 for entry but it's worth the cost. There is plenty to do and make sure your camera is fully charged 😅. I would also recommend to bring a personal camera. There is a tram 🚊 that takes you up the mountain but you must pay a fee for it. You can pay for a one way or round-trip cost for the tram. There are plenty of shops and a Cafe restaurant there. There is a walking trail that takes you further to the edge of the mountain cliff but it's a 30 to 45 minutes walk on way. There are other sites there but the main attraction is where I went. It is pretty secured there and you can park your car without problems as I didn't have any problems. Security is there. There is a tour bus I saw there as well. The popular tour bus called hop on and hop off. Have fun!

This is the point where the Atlantic and Indian Ocean meet. You will find scenic trails to hike to the top of the mountains and views are amazing. This reserve is quite a drive in the place itself and to visit the lighthouse you will need to hike up the mountain or pay R140 adult return on the tram. Entrance is R90 SA residents. Overall beautiful experience.

Absolutely stunning, beautiful. Walkways well maintained. We took the funicular to the top. The climb to the lighthouse is quite steep but breathtaking. Hold onto hats, cellphones & glasses! 🙈Can easily spent the whole day there, driving around the reserve and going to the different attractions.

An Unforgettable Experience at Cape Point Cape Point is an absolute gem and a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to South Africa. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the breathtaking beauty that surrounds this place. The stunning rugged cliffs, crashing waves, and panoramic views kept me in awe throughout my visit. The well-maintained facilities, knowledgeable guides, and informative signage all contributed to making my experience at Cape Point truly memorable. The visitor center was well-equipped and provided a wealth of information about the history, wildlife, and natural wonders that make Cape Point so unique. The highlight of my visit was definitely reaching the Cape Point Lighthouse. The exhilarating hike up to the top was rewarded with awe-inspiring vistas that stretched as far as the eye could see. The sense of accomplishment and wonder as I stood at the edge of the African continent is something that I'll cherish forever. To make the most of my visit, I recommend taking the Flying Dutchman Funicular to the viewpoint, as it provides a convenient and enjoyable way to reach the top. Exploring the walking trails and taking in the diverse flora and fauna is an absolute must as well. Overall, my experience at Cape Point exceeded all expectations. The natural beauty, rich history, and incredible views are unparalleled. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, history buff, or simply seeking an awe-inspiring adventure, Cape Point should be at the top of your list. I can confidently give Cape Point a 5-star rating and highly recommend it to anyone visiting South Africa. Thank you, Cape Point, for an unforgettable experience!!!!

  • 4/5 Dewald van S. 1 year ago on Google
Great experience. Loved driving around also the walk up to the light house was great. I would suggest that the wooden pathway to the point needs to be upgraded to rather use the recycled plastic as that is more durable than the wood, as it is in need of an upgrade. The bathrooms was clean and fresh, the curio shops are fully stocked. The snack shop has a nice selection of items to choose from. The restaurant is lovely, but paying R40 for a small Sterri stumpy is clearly catering for tourists...

As always, this was a wonderful experience once we got inside. The entry procedures are painfully slow. The queue was not long but we waited for ages to get through the gates. But the reserve is beautiful and well worth the travel and waiting time. I would recommend arriving as it opens

Besides the unnecessary fee of entering an another fee to use the facility tramp to go up this place is absolutely stunning..the views.. the scenery. The peacefulness..amazing..not good to do this place on a overcast, cold or rainy day as u will not be able to take full advantage of the beauti...u may also opt not to use the tramp an walk up or down an check out all the forestry

What a wonderful park. Ran from the restaurant along the knife edge (Hoeriekwagga Trail) past the overnight huts down to the Buffelsbay road then down to the most SW corner of SA before ascending up the boardwalk and past great scenic vantage points back to the restaurant. Magnificent scenery.

Beautiful beaches and coastline. We hiked from the Cape of Good Hope to the old and then the new lighthouse. The lighthouse hikes are about 1,5 h in total and especially the hidden hike to the new lighthouse is worth it with a great view of the cliff and turquoise water

Always worth coming here when in Cape Town. It was very quiet this time possibly due to Covid. Apart from the Light house, don't miss other points to see within the park..e.g. Cape of Good Hope and Dias Beach. Views are spectacular.

  • 5/5 JS D. 3 years ago on Google
An amazing way to see Cape point with absolutely stunning views of the ocean. Just remember to take your South African ID book with otherwise you will pay R340 at the entry gate just to get into the reserve. We are from Port Elizabeth and of course my ID was at home so we had to pay my entry as an international traveler. Also this excludes the funicular ticket so keep in mind that you actually pay 2 fees. But have to say after all the confusion and shock of the entry fee, we were stunned at the awesome scenery at the top

A perennial favourite among locals and tourists alike. Prepare yourself for a long drive but also for some surprises if you stay the course! Fauna and flora, exquisite blue waters and long stretches of white beach await you. View the meeting of 2 oceans and 2 Diaz monuments. Pack a picnic basket because the restaurant is always full. One last thing - get there early.
