My most favourite spot forso de-stress nature time. Great hike spot that offers so much for every fitness level. Suited for casual walks with dogs or a trail run if you'reup for it. I love the fact that it is very shaded and has beautiful streams and greenery.

A beautiful forest with several trails. It's dog friendly but you must have a permit otherwise you at risk of getting fined when the wardens do checks. Several little streams after the rains. Wear good walking shoes as shine of the paths are rocky and slippery. The forest provides lovely tree shade but there are parts that are open. Take water, hat and don't forget sunscreen.

This used to be a great spot for family day out, to let the kids go play in the river, but now if you go walk there I would suggest walking in groups of 4+ as higher up in the forest the criminals like to rob/attack you (they seem to have moved lower down in the past few months) Still a great place to escape into nature though as it's so beautiful there still.

Beautiful trail, very clean, most amazing views. Gets very busy around 9am so I'd advise an early start and a nice big group of people. It is dog friendly too

Lovely in shaded nature. Quite and wholesome. The contour path follows the curves of Table Mountain all the way from Tafelberg Road past the cable car station to Constantia Nek. You can take your dog along, on a leash untill (+- 5 minutes from parking area) high ground and then they can roam free. Pick up #2 is the rule. The Newlands Forest section is particularly well maintained with its wooden boardwalks and elevated picnic area amongst the trees. (The hiking trail not to be confused with the Newlands Forest picnic area which is a different public area next to the Newlands Forest Hiking trail parking area) Dogs enjoy splashing in the stream running through the woods and they may drink their fill from the stream. SANPARK fire fighters operate from the close by Heliport. Basic ablution facilities available. TAKE NOTE: Occasional fairy sightings πŸ€ͺπŸ§šπŸ»β€β™€ There are countless hiking trails to explore. A very good and solid golden rule, NEVER go it alone.😊

This is such a lovely hiking trail, in that, it's easy to do and the views are out Of this world. But most of all, the coolness of the forest is refreshing.

We walked up to the blockhouse. The views are stunning!! Path was a bit steep, but I'm just unfit. It was really worth it going up. If you're unfit like me just take it slow and rest if you feel you need to. I will definitely be trying it again. It's a nice hike and downhill back to the car was much faster. We went in a group, I felt safe.
