Quaint, cosy, vibey lounge/club & tapas venue... Staff are friendly & music is great...not a large venue so it does get full quickly especially sat nights...which adds to the cosyness... There is not cover charge so that's an added bonus

Good music, but overpriced, bartenders will default to the expensive spirits so check what you're being given after you've ordered (*We want to stay all night not just have a couple of drinks and leave! ) Good vibe however, small venue get there early on saturdays

Attracted by the vibrant neon signage and busy balcony, we wondered into a surprisingly refreshing bar (which also doubles up as an eatery in the early evening). SoCal is fresh, vibey and not at all pretentious - something that's becoming increasingly rare in the city center. My favourite part of the experience was the diverse crowd and that when you first enter you expect to have to pay a cover charge or be glanced over to see if you fit the dress code... None of the above applies... Please don't change this approach! The bar prices are great and the music will get you in the mood for your next stop when the bar closes at midnight. Great place to start your night or enjoy an early one.

Socal is a bar/club in Cape Town. It is normally very full on First Thursdays as well as Saturdays. The interior is well decorated. The bouncers strictly control the number of guests - this makes sure it is never overcrowded which is great. The drinks are however, expensive. There is always great music playing and a good vibe

Good ambience and location, with nice music to dance to. However it can get crowded by the door, trying to get to the balcony, got my drink knocked out my hand, from people shoving in that area. Overall, a good experience though.

Amazing night life vibe in the heart of the city. Free entrance and great locals. Space is very limited and drinks are expensive.
