👍 Very nice place, simple but friendly. Good service. The server explained the different dishes to us and helped us choose what to order. We has beef tripe with bread and chakalaka, and hard chicken with pap. I loved everything, my wife not so much… 😄 Reasonable prices. Highly recommend it. So it was a definite must visit for me...African Food, pap and Tripe was the order of the day. Food was amazing, the staff absolutely amazing, including background music. The place, still walking distance from VnA...for me, it's pride of how nice the place looks and feels. A def hang out spot. The missing star was cause one of the meals on the menu wasn't there...wors and beef. So made it difficult for one of the ladies to order a platter. But absolutely love Pitsos

This is a taste of mzansi! I had mutton mogodu (tripe), it was really nice, but not the best I've had. The dombolo (steamed bread) was DELICIOUS, it brought everything together when mixed with the chakalaka and mogodu 😍 There's an option to sit inside or outside, and they bring warm water with soap in a bowl to wash your hands. You could bring your family, but it feels more like a place suited for friends to just chill, eat and drink cause they don't really have kid friendly meals or drinks.

I found heaven on earth. A place to go to truly experience South African vibe in a safe and beautiful place. The staff friendly service gives the place that extra thing for you to want to come back

I think the location on google maps is not quite accurate, the food was amazing however. Great beef stew, tender meat and flavourful oily stew. The Chakalaka was nice as well. Would beg again!

Went there on Heritage day,it was fully booked and they had live performance. I resorted to getting a take away. The food was so nice! Ordered the Braai platter with Pap and Atcher.

Been to Pitso's 5 or 6 times in the past two years and lately the standard of service has dropped significantly. The food is still good, although last time I was there last week with friends the food was very salty. The service from the staff was below par. We were told items were not available but 10 minutes later we saw other tables getting such items. The bowls we were given to wash hands from were leaking. They were also playing gospel music very very loud (we couldn't even hear each other) for a Sunday and it was too cold to sit outside. I wish there was platform they posted which menu items are available for the day, because you get there at 60% of the menu is not available. The venue is at a good location and serves so I hope the service will improve soon.

If you're a local I would recommend calling them first before making your way. The menus on all occasions have been incomplete. They never seem to have stock of meat. Nama price ayadura for ukudla. The quantity is gormet size. The positives are the vibes, good people and good music, they are very accommodating. All in all, it's a good place for tourists especially.

The food is the saving grace of the restaurant, absolutely enjoyed the tripe and samp, portions are on the smaller side. The service however was not great, waiter gave us the menu without explaining anything and said we would call her when are ready to order, which was difficult to do from the corner we sat at, at no point during the meal did she check in. The music was too loud and made having a conversation at a restaurant difficult.

I'm visiting from the U.S. and needed better help with the menu. However I think my server was a teen, so I don't hold it against her. My accent is obvious. I just wished an adult came over to talk and described the food. I was eating Pap with a knife and fork, and nobody stopped me!

Amazing and friendly service, very welcoming atmosphere. Food looks delectable. If you go crazy for Tripe, this is the place for you.

This was my first time trying South African food and I loved the Pitso experience. I had the platter with 4 meat types and 3 starch types with a chakalaka extra. The food, service and atmosphere were all great, thanks to the good music and lovely staff. Prices were also reasonable. Highly recommend

The food am not happy shame at all, what a disappointment...I was super excited to taste that kasi vibe food but yhoo turns out to be other way around...Firstly Smiley was not clean and raw, samp super salty, mogodu salty, meat hard to bite and chakalaka yhoo that was just grated carrots tasteless...the only thing we could eat was steam bread, what a waste of money. Would I go back, definitely I would I think I came at wrong time and they just opened, I was first customer but I believe they can do better.

A great introduction to S African cuisine. Our host was fantastic, walking us through the menu. Many of the meat dishes were a little too adventurous for us, but enjoyed beef, steamed bread, pap and chakalaka.

The space was amazing and the food even better. For some of us who grew up in the township but don't have time to go there as much Pitso's has just the food to remind you of the great old times with their heartily cooked food. Definitely going back. Absolutely loved everything about it.

The food was just what I was looking for. It taste so delicious and it reminded me of home cooked meals because it was exactly the same. There was also some BBQ yoh I enjoyed every bit of it.

Drove all the way from Stellenbosch to come eat African food yesterday.. we arrived at the restaurant just before 4 pm.. we ordered Pap and Mogodu and guess what? We've been promised a pap from that time until just before 7pm...all we got was stories after stories,we had to leave the restaurant hungry and cold....I will never visit that place again...

I had a disappointing experience 👎. I usually eat Pitso food at the old biscuit mill therefore I was expecting the food to be just as good at the restaurant. The food was not as tasty, spinach was so salty, my food was cold . They didn't have most of the food I wanted to order. The waitress/waiters are not professional they don't seem to know how to handle customers. I hope they can address these issues

Best original South African food restaurant in the country by far. Staff treat every customer as top priority.
