By the time I visited in December 2022 they lift were not working so the only option to go up is by truck. Surprisingly it only takes 25min to get to the top and the ride is exhilarating! The drivers are very experienced and they know their way up and down in a road that is in relatively good condition. I highly recommend you go all the way to the Humboldt Hotel at the top of the mountain, walk around the area and enjoy the wonderful view of Caracas and La Guaira with the Caribbean Sea. Get a nice strawberry with cream and then head down to Galipan by either walking 20min or taking one of the trucks down (for an extra fee). Galipan is a wonderful little town where you can ride a horse, grab one of their famous cachapas or pernil dishes before you head back to Caracas. The same trucks you pay to take you up will also departure from Galipan so you don’t have to go back up for the return.

A wonderful 15 min gondola ride (3.5 KM) takes you from the base station to the top. The incline is fairly steep and you gain altitude of about 2000m. As you go up, you would be able to see the Caracas skyline in all its glory besides a sudden change in the weather - from the humid base camp to the chill lighter climes at the top. There is a walkway with cafe's and view points at the top. The mountain visit is worth 3-4 hours of your day for sure. It was a great place to visit whilst I was visiting Venezuela and gave me a great new perspective of the lovely country. (P.N - These are based on an older experience).
