Honestly, this is a hard one. I booked a stay for about 2 days. The service was great but the outside of the hotel just looked old and worn and the road to the hotel was in terrible condition. The room had a funny smell, the ceiling had bad stains and i wasnt sure if it was mold or not. The desk looked old and was piling apart. And the window curtain had holes. The bathroom was excellent tho really clean and it was quiet. The place just looked like it was old and wasn't properly taken care of. I didnt end up staying as i didnt feel comfortable being there or leaving my friend there.

I rarely write reviews. I booked this hotel based on the price and the reviews. I’m not really sure how people are rating this place so high. It has an updated laminate floor but that’s about it. The room I had was run down. No usable electrical outlets except by the HVAC unit on the floor. I had to pull the tattered curtain back to plug in my phone charger and the coffee maker. The bed was good but I observed some hair on the side of the bed I did not sleep on. Not sure it was mine. I was getting ready the next morning and observed a spider crawling down the wall in addition to the gunk around the toilet and baseboards. Random stains in random spots. I would probably stay here again versus spending $200+ on a room but there are definitely better rooms worth the low $100 range.

Absolutely disgusting hotel. We booked thinking the name of the hotel would host a lot of families for the university…….. there’s no way. It felt like a super cheap motel, and every chair in the lobby is stained with filth. I didn’t even feel comfortable touching anything. But I thought maybe it’s just the public areas. First, there isn’t someone in person who checks you in. You go to a kiosk where someone on camera checks you in. Then the one employee of the entire building comes to give you your key. She had the worst attitude for no reason. Then we finish booking and they tell us they can’t print a key but they’ll let us in and to leave our room UNLOCKED……. No way am I bringing my stuff in this hotel with an unlocked door. It also had a door connecting to the other room which we were unaware of. We leave to get dinner and they call us and tell us our room has been changed and asking us why we left ours unlocked…….. WHAT????? The room was DISGUSTING. It smelled like old water and chemicals. There were burn marks on the door lock, and in the bathroom tub. I felt so unsafe as a woman. I felt so unsafe as a human. I immediately said we need to leave. The online pictures are nothing like the rooms. There was dust and crumbs everywhere. I’m just an average person. I don’t strive to have the best but wow this was seriously so bad. Just an awful experience overall and they refused to give us a refund

TL/DR: Good value, clean room, quiet, breakfast needs improvement. I stayed one night, a Saturday. The exterior has seen better days, and the appearance of a nightclub (Club 13) attached to the hotel was not a positive sign. The club said 'Open' but I never saw anyone there. The lobby area is large and clean, with both a fake fireplace and 2 fountains. A bit odd, perhaps, but it was clean, well-lit, and large. Check-in was uneventful (a good sign). The hallway had a slightly musty smell. But it was mid-summer, and hot and humid. There was a large box fan running at the end of the hall, so it appeared management was making an effort to address the mustiness. On the other hand, my room (106) was clean, spacious, and had a small fridge / freezer, microwave, and large screen TV. Wifi is included, and worked flawlessly. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean, and supplied with sufficient towels and toiletries. The heating / cooling is an in-wall until that worked fine, although its temperature setting did not seem to correlate with the room temperature. That was only a slight inconvenience, however. I had trouble operating the Dish TV remote. It did not seem to be connected to the Dish TV receiver, as the remote would register my button presses, but the receiver did not respond. I did not call the front desk for assistance, however, as I didn't really care about getting it working. Breakfast was disappointing. Options were corn flakes (no other choices), waffles, oatmeal, and / or toast (wheat and white). I saw honey packets, but don't recall if there were jelly packets or not. Keurig coffee maker was a plus. Beverage choices also included milk, oat milk, and orange juice (I think).

I should’ve just slept in my car. I didn’t expect 5 stars for the price. However, I paid for 2 nights. My husband and I woke up and went out to have breakfast . When we returned our key wouldn’t work. We had to wait over a hour before we were able to find a employee who was able to find someone else who could fix our key. There was hair in the shower as soon as we walked in. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Absolutely disgusting as hell...Don't stay here...Cleanliness was terrible, dirty bed linen, pubic hair in bathroom, tub, toilet, snot on wall floors waa disgusting, urine on toilet, mold on shower curtain, lights falling off wall, window wouldnt close all the way, floor was so sticky through out entire room when walking feet/socks stuck to it.Toilet paper even stuck to the main room floor..desk had sticky food on it When we checked into it the room these things was completely noticeable with the room, The noise level was all hours of the night NOTHING WAS DONE! They took no accountability refused to refund or offer a new room I was told we do no refund. The lady at the front desk when we checked out was extremely rude it was more important to gossip with the staff at the table then assist me. They say they have breakfast (hot) no they don't there orange juice was sunny delight. They advertise restaurant and food they DO NOT, We drove 11 hours an couldn't even sleep I had to go buy clorox wipes an clean up the entire room ourselves. Even bought cheep dollar general sheets for the bed. Never ever again. Place smells. We checked in at like 4am and they still charged us for 2 nights, No one is ever at the front deak but theres a phone you press a code on to get aomeone who i believe lives there cuz they come feom a room down the hall. Advertised pool but no pool...DISGUSTING AND RUDE PLACE!

The location is amazing, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the lobby is very cute and comfortable, and the rooms were amazing and comfortable. The only complaint is I wish the bathrooms were a bit more updated to match the rooms but other than that I had a very pleasant night and a really nice stay. I definitely think this hotel deserves better reviews. The breakfast was also a very normal/standard hotel breakfast and yummy!

It's quite a bit better than under previous "recent" owners. I just couldn't get that sad breakfast as when I picked up a packet of oatmeal (that was the GOOD option...)and having oats and dust fall to the counter and floor. Tiny little teeth had chewed holes in the packet, causing it to leak. The other packets seemed fine, though. So maybe I was just the lucky one...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at an affordable hotel that surpassed all my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted by a friendly and attentive staff that made me feel right at home. I'm thrilled to share my positive experience at this hotel, which not only offered excellent value for money but also boasted impressive amenities and a cozy atmosphere.

Very clean, very nice hotel. I had a great experience. The front desk guy, Dave, was an amazing host and out of this world helpful. I highly recommend this hotel! Five stars!

The hotel owner after I booked my reservation online, he refused me and my service animal, because he said my dog was barking last time I stayed there. He’s been demanded in violation of federal law to know why my animal was a service animal, and then denied us staying there. Per the hotel policy you to be worn twice if you have a noisy pet, and I was never warned. Nobody ever said anything. And then, after I booked the room and traveled, they refused to rent the room to me. The excuse he gave was because of my service animal. This placeviolated federal law and refused service to a service animal

I would have given this place a 4/5 stars originally, it was good quality for the price and the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. All was fine until 3am someone’s smoke alarm began to chirp for a battery change. The stay otherwise was great up until that.

Nice and clean place with good value for money. Check in staff and manager are helpful, made us feel like home. Breakfast surpassed continental breakfast standard. A pool would have been better but we were there for only for a day do didn't make a difference. Will visit again.

Rooms were clean lobby was beautiful, fresh towels, and sheets in the room. Only downside was free continental breakfast, they ran out of food around 730 8 o’clock and did not replace it. There was also $100 deposit on top of the $90 for the room. In the morning when we checked out, went to check the room before we left and because I had washed my face and got make up on a towel. They charged us $25 from our deposit for the towel. I find this quite ridiculous imagine if I would’ve taken a pillow how much that would’ve cost for $25 for a three dollar towel from Walmart it would’ve been $1000 for a pillow won’t stay there again unless absolutely have to

This was my second stay here, and it was just as enjoyable as the first one. This is my new favorite hotel in southern Illinois! The staff here is great and the manager, also named Sam, was an amazing guy! I highly recommend this hotel!
