Fun place for a meal. Took the family. It worked out as well. Had the rib rack. Delicious. Riblets are good as well. The Alfredo chicken dish was good as well.

Like ya it could have been better. They put cilantro on my tacos when I asked not to. But I had empathy for all staff as they were working with no chef. And they did their best in this crazy world so ya, I remained polite and I still feel like giving 4 stars. Every dog has its day. Ave..... 11/06/23...I'm a food and service reviewer. I give honest objective review.. This place has downhill fast. Behind the bar is disgusting. It hasn't been clean in weeks. The same drink splatter has been on the bar wall for weeks now .. Service is awful. The staff hardly greet and speak to their customers. The food is not fresh. Frozen deep fried and microwaved. I won't be surprised If this business is the next to shut down in Carbondale Illinois. Absolutely disgusting!!!!

Stopped in with spouse for an afternoon bite to eat an cocktails. No one greeted us for 10 mins. The young lady apologized and advised that it wasn't her section, that the waitress working that section abruptly departed the store allegelly citing an emergency. The manager wasn't aware that we had even walked in. There were two gentlemen having lunch who had to call the manager on the phone to get her attention. They 'd advised that they received their food and hadn't seen a waitrist for an hour. My wife and I waited at least 15 minutes before waited and 20 mins before being served. I explained to the Manager that this was unacceptable and the wrost dinning experienced we ever had at Applebees. It was horrible. Not to mention there was no bartender to serve cocktails. We even had to get up and get our napkins. Shame on Applebee. Whether chain or franchise someone drop the ball om this one.

Had a great experience here when I was on a date with my husband, food was delicious & hot. The host and waiter were friendly and fast. We were seated right away. Prices were affordable. Will visit again.

I don't normally Write reviews; But I felt that this one was important. We were on our way home to missouri when we stop there for dinner on our way through. When we got there we were seated right away. I We were not acknowledged for at least ten minutes. Finally our waitress came over and took our drink order. . It took twenty minutes to get our salads and appetizers. That was totally unacceptable.. Finally I had to flag someone down we hadn't seen our waitress. So I said excuse me to another waitress sge was just passing the our table. She didn't even look at us she just continued to walk away. There was another waitress standing nearby trainsing someone. she heard me say excuse me. She turned around and said yes can I help you. So I continued to tell her that we were from outer town and we were very hungry and we stopped in to applebee's because it's 1of our favorite places to eat. I said it's been nearly twenty minutes since our waitress took our order. We should have had our salads by now and our appetizer. Finally another Twenty five minutes came on waitress came by and said they're putting new fries in for you. I imagine because our food had been sitting there. The best thing about our experience there was that when our dinner did come it was hot and it was good. We were sitting very close to the bar area where we could hear our waitress talk. She told a manager You do know that i'm off my shift and shouldn't be taking tables. I feel as though that is something that someone should not have said in front of customers. that should have been said in private with that manager. To me that was very unprofessional. I also feel as though a manger should have come to our table and explain what was going on. Applebee's is one of my family and I's favorite place to eat unfortunately. We won't be back to that applebees. I hope no one else goes through something like this when they are visiting another state.

Carbondale Applebee's needs new staff. I saw a server bussing tables when there were 2 parties waiting to be seated. Our server brought my boyfriends drink separate from mine. She was telling everyone there were only 2 servers like it was busy. There were only 6 tables! I handled more tables, alone, on a regular basis. They had 2 cooks and 2 servers. We handled 12+ tables with one cook and one server when the bars closed, EVERY weekend. Hard to watch these untrained and unfriendly employees struggle to handle a DEAD restaurant. No smiles, constantly running in circles. Never checking their tables. Truly laughable!

All you can eat boneless wings are delicious!!! Server was awesome!!! She made sure we had plenty to drink and kept the food coming!!!

The food was pretty good. Chicken quesadillas were awesome. The restaurant was a little short handed but service was still good

Service should have received no stars but it wasn’t an option. I was sat at a table, other tables seated after me were waited on first, so I moved to the bar after 10 minutes. Better service but not much better. I started choking on a piece of food, and was coughing. It finally went down after almost throwing up. Everybody looked at me weird. One guy got up and moved. Don’t come here if you need help when choking.

I don't really understand why there is never any business is here, the food was awesome, the service was great, I mean it does need to be updated because it's still kind of 80s but everything was really good. Price is good. I recommend going.

update. We gave it another shot and it was excellent this time. Amanda was a great server. Food was cold, took 45 mins to even get the food, just horrible experience all around.
