What an awful fall from grace. Was one of the better Brains pubs in Cardiff. Now it's gone downhill fast. Probably due to a clueless manager and staff that seem to be in a coma. Add dreadful (unesserary) generic music and it's a recipe for disaster. Such a shame. 😞

One of the best pubs I've ever been to. The staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you. The atmosphere is amazing. They are very knowledgeable about the area.

I was looking forward to going back here after a few years away from Cardiff, but unfortunately we walked in then walked back out. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday evening, and at the bar all the casks were off (glasses covering the pulls) except one. We asked if it was on and we just got a blunt "no" from the person working there as if we'd been idiots for asking. The kegs on were okay but it was the usual kegs on offer everywhere. I remember the Cambrian Tap having some of the best and original/local beer available, not just the usual big brewery kegs. So we left and went somewhere with a warmer welcome. I hate leaving 1* reviews for places I like so I've made it 3* but I'm really hoping it's just a one off experience.

Was in Cardiff for my first ever rugby match and visited The Cambrian - what an experience! Spent Friday night in the pub, the staff were amazing and there was a great atmosphere. So, we made our way to the pub again after the rugby on the Saturday night and had an even better evening and the bar staff even remembered us and what we'd been drinking from the night before. 100% recommend this place for anyone visiting Cardiff. You won't be disappointed. Thank you Claire and Brian for keeping a great pub and looking after us during our visit. See you again very soon

Had a couple of drinks midweek on an evening. Nice setting with a good range of drinks, plenty of beers on draught. Got very busy later on with a couple of pub crawls and hen party, only one bar staff but coped well.

Great pub with a great atmosphere, really enjoyed visiting the Cambrian Tap when I was last in town. Really nice, warm and welcoming staff. There was a great selection of spirits and beers too. Will definitely be coming back and recommended this pub to anyone who is looking for a good pub to go too.

Amazing old traditional pub, new manager doing a great job . great selection of drinks available for all ages and tastes, probably the best Guinness in Cardiff, close to the stadium great day out for the rugby. Well done to all the staff

A decent spot nearby to Central station which has a simple range of drinks at affordable prices. I can definitely g et bused to a pint for £4.05! The pub itself is fairly small and has a bit of seating outside too. I liked the booths inside in particular. Definitely worth stopping off if you are heading to the station or for a first drop off when arriving.

I cannot believe how one member of staff is being abused. She is left on her own to serve about 30 people. The other 'white' people who were serving till this lovely lady came on shift dispersed. Disgusting beyond belief. Abuse of staff.

Super pub, limited opening hours, but worth the wait. 3 ales on the bar, and a pleasing atmosphere.

Quick end of the evening pint in a nice little pub. Can’t fault the location, really is in a prime spot. Very good selection of drinks, everyone seemed happy. Wasn’t badly priced either.

Nice craft beer pub. Good layout, with quite a few comfy booths. Great range of beers & cheers, at good city centre prices.

Really enjoyed this place. We ended up here on a concert day because everywhere else was so busy but to be honest we couldn't have been happier. Grabbed a spot in the sun outside and watched the throngs of people go by. Good choice of well served beers, decent toilets and the staff were friendly too

Small'ish pub (used to be Kitty Flyn's), interesting bar food (good pie selection). Good selection of ales (beers change regularly - but beware of short measures though - especially on the flight of beers offer). Some of the staff could really make more of an effort.

Decent beer and wine - good prices. A bit scruffy inside, very basic pub.

Lovely pub in the heart of Cardiff. Good selection of beers on tap and friendly staff.

Changed so much since covid. Gone is the vast beer selection, in is the karaoke with its volume at max so you can't talk to the person next to you.

👍👍 Great Jamaican food, we had a great time! I highly recommend the bottomless brunch, our waitress, Lucy, was very attentive and we had a great chat about nights out in Cardiff! The bar staff's cocktails were beautiful, too!
