I have been there a couple of times now, and the first time was a disappointment. I ordered the Chicken Biryani, but what came was this humongous mountain of rice with a few small chicken pieces. The amount of rice was enough for 4 servings, but the chicken barely would suffice one. The rice itself however was flavoursome and after taking more than half my meal home, I was able to use other home-cooked meat with it. I also tried their Karak tea, which is one of the few places in Cardiff where it is available - a must try I would say! The second time was a quick visit and I ordered a Lamb Shish wrap which was really well flavoured and presented too (see picture!). I'd definitely come again to try the other more authentic Omani dishes.

Pretty good meal here, unfortunately they'd sold out of the dishes we wanted to try. Half a chicken was great, good flavour with crispy skin. Lamb shank was OK but a little bit dry and very heavy on the cumin. The curried broth (which was complimentary) was delicious, will definitely return to try the lamb Mandi in future. Prices are very low

I would love to recommend this halal Omani Resturant. All good food we had. People are nice and environment was very clean. Best was Omani Coffee MashAllah. The best thing is that serving was good in cheap price.

Tried Omani Food for the first time and very pleased with my decision. Very high quality food, fresh and tasty. Atmosphere and ambience are ideal for a telaxed lunch or dinner. Staff arr very kind and polite. Strongly recommend this place.

Amazing! Good price and very delicious food! My friend told me the seabass is the best in Cardiff, and she is right! So tasty. I strongly recommend it. The lemon mint drink is very refreshing. I love it too. The amount of food is so large that you may not be able to finish it yourself.

As you can see an empty plate and that's how it should be! The lamb shewa was one the tastiest dishes I've tried in Cardiff! The lamb was slow cooked to perfection and the spices complemented it beautifully. The rice was on point and so was the hospitality. 100% I will return to this place and try other dishes

Really delicious food and different flavours to other local restaurants with similar cuisine

We tried here after a friend recommended it. We were not disappointed at all. Great food, great staff and really well looked after throughout. We had Lamb Shewa, Lamb & Okra Stew and another lamb dish that was seasoned and cooked in spices. They all hit the mark really well and the portion sizes were just superb. The prices certainly did not break the bank. Would I recommend this place for something different to the other usual restaurants in City Road, Yes I would. Omani cuisine at its best. We will definitely be going again to try some of the other dishes on the menu. Thanks Mohamed for looking after us and guiding us through the menu.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted was delicious. Absolutely the best meal we had while in (Cardiff). Highly recommend!

Super duper delicious grilled whole seabass served with rice and salad. Excellent service, very kind waiter catered to my request for extra salad and less rice. Came with complimentary lentil soup.

This is the only restaurant that serves various Omani traditional dishes and meals in Cardiff and maybe in UK. Once you step inside, you feel like home. It's full of old Omani crafts and decorations. Food is very very delicious. They even serve Karak and other stuff. It definitely worths a visit. 😋👌

The most delicious Omani dishes in the UK. We tried different dishes and they are all very delicious. They taste like local Omani food you eat in Oman. Great success. The karak tea is very nice. The restaurant has nice traditional Omani dining rooms upstairs.

Amazing food and welcoming hospitality ! Some might force themselves to be put off by the setup, being mediocre by contemporary standards but walk in and past any prejudice if you enjoy food made well and with taste to savour. Family in tow, our service from the pony tailed Libyan to the owner's young son taking our order and questions on allergens and re arranhing the order after 10 minutes of it patiently left nothing but good feelings towards the establishment. Went in late for a working day so ended up being the last ones out. Will be visiting soon and often with friends and family. 👍🏼 I woould give it 4.5 but then for the money and the atmosphere it`s a total winner!

Great authentic Omani food. I've had quite a few dishes but my favourite has to be the Lamb Shuwa, something you normally cannot find anywhere outside of Oman.

Very delicious tasty food. We tried Mandi rice with Lamb Shewa , Chicken and Sea bass fish, they are all just perfect. The place is warm and spacious and the owner is very friendly. They have variety of options, Arabic Style Rice, Grills, Burgers and others. Will definitely go again.

Very poor service. We were visitors there and didn't know any good halal restaurants there. A local person guided us to go to this restaurant but we are disappointed by their services and food. We waited there for 40 mins to bring dishes. Every time, they used to give an excuse that they are having a lot of online orders but it was their job to manage their workload. We ordered biryani rice, kabsa rice, and mix meat grill plate with salad. It's just a name "biryani", at actual they were boiled rice added by yellow color. Kabsa rice was better. The soup wasn't good at all. I hope they have improved till now.

Best middle eastern food place in Cardiff! The food is amazing and so fresh! I am so happy I got the chance to try Omani cuisine as it’s unique and delicious. I definitely recommend the Lamb Mandy and the chai as the perfect combo!

A hidden gem on City Road. If you want authentic Omani cuisine don’t bother going anywhere else. Staff and the service at the restaurant was 10/10. Very friendly staff who navigated me through the menu to help me decide what to order. Would highly recommend. The lamb was beautifully cooked, soft and tender and was complemented very well by rice. Free complements such as soup and potatoes added even more joy to the experience- there very few places where you get this sort of dine in experience. I shall be visiting again soon!!

I have been to this place several times and it's never disappointed me with the quality of food and service. Sea bass, Karak tea, and Shawa are their signature dishes and my favourite as well.

The best restaurant with a lovely atmosphere that represents Oman and its history. The menu offers a wide range Omani dishes but the best dish was the Shuwa which I highly recommend to try.

Best kabsa and lamb meat ever😀so tasty rice and tasteful tender meat. Affordable prices and brilliant service. My senses directed me to this GREAT OMANI restaurant and absolutely they’re right. When have next visit to Cardiff I will pay another visit to this lovely restaurant.

We ordered a half lamb from this restaurant as 7 of us we attended. I have to say that the lamb was an outstanding for all of us. The service was excellent and the brother Khalid was very welcoming and he couldn't do more for us): we would definitely come back again to this a great place!!
