Cardiff City... oh oh , what an amazing place to be in😍😍... I have been in first time in 2015, I visited many other cities, but I decided to live in Cardiff and do my PhD at Cardiff University. People are so friendly, the atmosphere is amazing , everything is easy access, every single place I be in Cardiff I feel very comfortable. What I mostly like about Cardiff as a city is the flat ground because I really hate highly ground ... Also, they increasing development in terms of students accommodations makes students very happy as there are lots of availability and prize ranges ... Cardiff University is an awesome institution, I really like how they quickly moved teaching from Face to Fave to online in the difficult times of COVID-19... the University has taken as much precautions as possible to keep everyone safe and keep progressing education matters.... just so happy to be in Cardiff, believe me you would never regret to be here.

My partner did his Engineering degree here and loved it. Cardiff is cold and windy, but has many nice areas and great shopping. The university itself was good (according to him) but the awards ceremony long!

International student don't choose this university because here most of the teachers are racists and also they don't care about us. Once you paid the full fees that's all everything is over. All they need is our money so international students please don't join Cardiff University it's my humble request 🙏.

Great place to study and research as a PhD student! It’ll be better to lift the entry requirement so that the ranking will be higher.

As a parent I am so disapointed that my eldest who attends Cardiff University has almost all lectures and seminars online and is only entitled to something like one 45min face to face session once a fortnight and even some of these are online. Also quality of the recorded lectures are poor in that many are just a lecturer reading a PowerPoint and others where audio is poor quality and hard to understand. Questions asked to lecturers when stuck were met with 'please ask the student shared area this question'. I really do not understand why Cardiff Uni is taking this path, while other unis are not. As a scientist I understand the pandemic and support limiting unneccesary contact when needed. However I feel that when schools are open Uni students should have face to face as pre pandemic Cardiff Uni is not. In comparison Swansea Uni History course lectures said the lectures and seminars will all be face to face next year (gov rules allowing ) as this is best for the students. Cardiff has said online is likely to continue. I will not allow my other child to attend Cardiff and If my child could move Uni's without restarting I would opt for that. I feel that may 9 grand tuition fees are wasted and the Uni is saving money hand over foot and the value for money I am getting is shocking.

Absolutely shocking uni. Left my son alone and without support during and after the pandemic. Tutoring is non existent, pastoral care….absent. Service from the uni and affiliated organisations is simply not there and the quality of teaching (on my son’s engineering course) is laughable. I would strongly Recommend that you seek alternative universities or try degree apprenticeships. Simply not worth the money. Literally the whole staff team works from home (yeah right) and your fees go straight in the principles pocket.

I graduated not long ago and I have loved every second of being in Cardiff University. Amazing staff who go out their way to help you. Top quality teaching too. There are loads of clubs and projects to join such as the student mentoring scheme and you can get career advice from the careers team who also run a career mentoring programme that matches you with an industry professional. Plenty of opportunities to learn a language with Languages for all. A really lovely place and a beautiful city. Going to start my masters here this month too.

Terrible and pathetic university, cannot moderate the tone of communication with students... Because of this lowlife shameless University's blunder a young student lost her precious life .... All students current and future should stay away from this despicable institution and opt for better study options... This place must shut down, period!!!!

The bioscience department are so lovely and accommodating to students. The university has so many different groups like student connect, student support set up to help with any query or problem you might have. Amazing experience!

A walk around the campus is a lovely way to while a few hours. Some of the architecture is gorgeous and there's a lovely little park in the middle of the main campus. Very close to the city centre yet very relaxed.

Fantastic open day at Cardiff Uni with polite, friendly and helpful students and knowledgeable staff The therapeutic radiography course team were so welcoming and Lynn Mundy arranged a visit to the Velindre cancer centre for my daughter prior to the open day. This was very much appreciated - a big thank you to you all!

Having lived and worked in/around Brighton for most of my life I moved to Cardiff to work at the university and don't regret the move for a second. The university harbours world leading research in neurological disorders now partnered with the recently established Medicines Discovery Institute to bring novel drugs to the market. Cardiff itself is fantastic, all the benefits and convenience of a capital city without the over crowded, faceless meleé of London which now has infected Brighton.

This is just my personal study experience may not comply to all current students or future students. The uni will never care about international students, especially the most headache visa issues, “zero sympathy”! I am still a registered student but they asked me leave the country within 3 days not even discuss with me in advance, because as they said I quote “this is what CAS asked”, when I first landed to the country the first news I heard is Mared Foulkes suicide because the Cardiff university marked her assessment score wrong and the school never learned from that, they just do whatever they want, so good luck for future student

Teachers spend lots of time on strike then covid came so there was another excuse not to teach. And the graduation ceremonies were an absolute mismanaged joke. Theyre very happy to take your money but show no commitment to student welfare (check out the first year dorms) A disgrace - like the state of the city.

Love Cardiff uni great supply of places to get lunch and great lecture halls, could do with more outside seating for students and more parking as the parking onsite is limited.

So many things wrong with this university. Do not go here if you want a university that cares about its students. I came from Psychology school as an undergrad and Business school as a Masters student. - Psychology in particular seem to not realise/ care that you are taking multiple modules and give you enough work in just one module to fill a whole half a year 🥲 - I’ve been at this uni for four years, spend god knows how much and now they’re giving me a ‘mass’ graduation where I don’t even get to walk across the stage and hear my name. - Business school made us wait nearly 4 months for final results (some of my peers needed these results for jobs etc) and then gave us the WRONG results. This has happened multiple times at this uni and has had tragic consequences. - At undergrad I had stressful deadlines, could often have several courseworks on the go and an exam timetable with exams one after the other when they could’ve been spread over 3 weeks. - During 2021 they were providing online teaching as much as they can even when gov guidelines said in-person was fine, they don’t seem to care that students are paying tonnes of money to get taught over zoom. I guess it saves them money - mental health services- should you ever need it- have a month long gap after the first appointment for you to ‘consider whether you still require the service’. after that you only get 4 more appointments… I could go on!

Great experience as a 1st year med student. Top standard for internship and friendly staff in Cardiff University. However, do beware of Dr. Rowan Hardy (University of Birmingham) who committed severe academic misconduct. So highly recommend here for great student experience!

This is a notable University with distinction. Availability of sufficient physical infrastructures with human resources is enough to speak volume about this citadel of learning. I live at a stone throw distance at Cathays Terrace to this University. A good heritage to Wales.

Love it enough to go back in september to study for my master's here, after graduating with my BA in 2020. The one thing that really holds the University back is that the provision of student support, particularly for mental health, is far too little - waiting lists are extremely long, the help you can get is very limited, etc. Staff on my course were wonderful at helping me through the death of my best friend and fellow coursemate and it is down to them that I didn't drop out and I finally got my 2:1... had the student wellbeing service actually got around to giving me counselling either of the 2 times I applied, my opinion might have been different, but everyone I know has had similar difficulties with them (not the staff, but with the extremely long waiting lists and very limited sessions per student)

Used the council chamber for a work function. The room was too hot, the chairs were uncomfortable. But the surroundings were pleasant and the staff were nice.

Apart from being very grubby, particularly the main building. I found the campus and it's students very friendly and positive. The Student Union is an excellent area with bar, function space and study pods.

Dear MBM or MSc Business Management students, I am sharing my experience at Cardiff Business School or (CARBS) to those in the know. which I hope will provide valuable insights for prospective students, especially international Students. One notable aspect is the large class sizes, often exceeding 200 students, which may not be to everyone's preference. A significant portion of the class, approximately 85-90%, is comprised of students from two countries, which may not reflect the diversity one might expect. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that some students face challenges with English communication While the staff's commitment to student success is evident, the large class size remains a drawback. It would be beneficial if the school considered restructuring the classes into smaller modules to enhance the learning experience. Although tutorials and workshops offer smaller group settings, a reduction in the main lecture size is preferable. Group work is a staple of the curriculum, designed to simulate real-life teamwork. Success in these activities can feel like a coin toss; you might find yourself part of a group where all members contribute equally, or you might end up with only 2-3 active participants. The school also provides career development opportunities like job fairs and sessions to enhance your CV and LinkedIn profile. While beneficial, it is unfortunate that some of these events often conflict with the MBM class schedule, which can be frustrating. to conclude, Cardiff Business School has amazing professors. However, it is important to know the they focus on financial gains more by admitting a large number of students, some of whom may lack the necessary academic background for a master's level class. Please consider these aspects before making a decision.

The staff are unhelpful to such an extent that is unbelievable, I have been nagging them for a deposit refund for over a year now despite having provided all the documents and explained my situation, I called them everyday for about a month now and unfortunately I had to be very rude to their staff in order for them to make a move. Their management is horrible.

They will not help first years at all with accommodation if you are accepted through clearing. Lots of first years are still looking for accommodation with only 2 weeks before freshers week. A terrible start to student life which they take no responsibility for.
