We only stayed for one night. Friendly staff. Lovely room, mattress was very comfortable. Love how they have kept the old fashioned feel to it, in the sitting room. The breakfast was lovely, service very good. Good selection of cereal, juices and Welsh cakes. Shame the bar was closed, not sure why. Would have been nice to have a drink in the bar. Or have some dinner or snacks as we arrived late and were starving, We were recommended a lovely Italian restaurant five minutes walk away, which was really good. Parking has space for about 10 cars in the car park, but we found a space.

Really nice well priced non chain hotel. Good parking (an issue I find in Cardiff) and near decent restaurants.

Maybe 4 stars but on the whole a good stay. For a good price and walk able to the city centre. Room was large but we're disturbed a few times by Squeaky floor boards above and doors opening outside but I think this comes to be expected with an old converted house. The staff were super friendly. Especialy at breakfast. Unfortunately haven't mastered a drippy poached egg though! Also has a private car park but advised to arrive early as it can fill up.

Absolutely outstanding hotel with amazing service. Impeccably clean throughout (and I own a cleaning business so that's saying something!) The food was beautiful, staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was beautiful. Thank you to all the staff, you made our stay so relaxed and comfortable. We have already booked again! Always book direct with the hotel, they will better the price than on a booking website! Well done and definitely FIVE STAR SERVICE!

I really liked staying here for a night, and will come back to it. I liked the idea of the breakfast, which is Welsh menu by the way. Nice attendants wait to take your order and serve you freshly made food. It's so good that you've to sign the hours you'd like to have breakfast the night before, that way the kitchen and attendants will be hands-on with your order. It also cuts down food wastage. I really enjoyed the night here.

Great bed and breakfast hotel shame the bar was shut . Breakfast was amazing , the fresh fruit salad was delicious. Helen was a lovely lady . Cardiff centre a bus ride away x Room was clean and big enough for two people . Plenty of toiletries and clean towels .

We had a weekend stay. Very good breakfast. Room was ok but needs updating especially the bathroom which was an add on and not done very well. I had booked a room with bath which was confirmed but given a room with a shower and no explanation or apology etc given. I have emailed since to give them feedback but no response. The bar was still closed which was disappointing and generally the hotel didn't feel like it should from the photos. Nice location and local facilities though nearby.

Perfect location for seeing all the sights in Cardiff on foot, very comfortable clean room, great breakfast to start your day, stressfree for parking and very helpful friendly staff. Special thanks to Carl for all the local info, and a lost book returned. This made our first visit to Cardiff really enjoyable. Highly recommended.

A great stay, the hotel is in a wonderful location, right by the park and river and on a very pretty road. There is limited parking so we had to go on the road but we were able to find a space right by the hotel. The rooms were very spacious and the hotel itself has some beautiful features like the stained glass in the dining room and lounge. We stayed two days and will be back next time we come to Cardiff!

Stayed here on a work visit to Cardiff. It's quite a trek from the centre and after about 9pm I couldn't find anywhere local for a bite to eat. The hotel restaurant is not currently open, not is there bar. Nice and close to the beautiful castle park, but if you are a lone female you might not enjoy the walk to the hotel as you skirt the edge of the park along quite dark streets for an extended period. Amazing building and friendly staff but all a bit dated and a right faff checking in. Feels quite expensive for what you get. Can't really recommend I'm afraid as there are cheaper and better equipped hotels in the centre...

The hotel was characterful in a nice area and convenient to the city centre. On arrival the staff were friendly. The King room was slightly disappointing as it was quite small and the shower room although adequate was very compact. There was a broken tap on the wash basin and the shower could have done with a clean to get rid of the mould around the seals etc. The mattress protector was stained and needed changing. The breakfast was lovely and the dining room staff were friendly and polite. The bar that was mentioned on the website didn’t appear to be open. On our last morning when we awoke there was no power in our room. There was no telephone to contact reception and when a call was made by mobile phone to the hotels main number there was no reply. When my partner went to the reception area there was no one to be seen. When he returned later the receptionist was aware there was no power in the rooms on our floor but all he could suggest was that we waited until it got lighter. My partner explained that we wished to use a hairdryer but the receptionist dismissed that comment. We fully understand that it was no one’s fault that the power had gone off and that an electrician had been called but we were very disappointed that we were not offered an alternative room or at least the use of a room with working electric sockets. We took it upon ourselves to go downstairs to the lounge to enable the use of the hairdryer. On checking out there was no apology for the inconvenience caused and we felt this was very unprofessional and poor customer service 😞

Not really as described. Staff were pleasant but not amazingly accommodating. Paid for a king size room. Very small room. The bathroom was absolutely tiny giving off Harry Potter vibes. Bathroom was nothing like to ones pictured. Which is a shame as it is the reason I selected this hotel, felt like it has been falsely advertised. Not 100% sure if the bed was as king size. It was comfy but it didn’t feel it, potentially cause the room was so small. The TV in the room was really old and impossible to watch anything, too old to even cast your phone to. I asked if there were vegan breakfast options before I arrived. I was assured there was and just to ask the staff in the morning. First morning I got down I asked, he stated you can eat whatever you can on the menu = beans on toast no butter. Not really great. I wouldn’t have minded as I’m aware some people find vegan food difficult but I was asking do I could bring something. On checking out I explained this to the man on reception and he replied “oh that’s a shame”. Not really helpful I didn’t eat breakfast on my second day. I was woke up 2 mornings in a row at 7:30am due to work going on in the next room, the builders were talking incredibly loudly. On the second day as I walked past they appeared to have realised they were in a hotel and had woke me up then started laughing. Real shame as there is a lot of potential. I attempted to talk to staff but didn’t really get much understanding. Won’t be staying here again if I’m in the area.

I stayed here May 24-25 for a night and it was a great stop in Cardiff. The hotel is located walking distance from the city centre and Cardiff castle. Check in was smooth even though we arrived later around 8pm. The room was nice with a soaker tub which I enjoyed. We got a full breakfast (pictured) the next day and it was really nice they had some gluten-free options for breakfast also as I am celiac so getting eggs and toast was lovely. Great value for money, and lovely staff! I wish we had a few more nights, we really enjoyed our time .

Really enjoyed our stay, room was clean, comfortable and had everything that was needed. Great breakfast too. Enjoyed the vintage feel and eco approach to the crockery. Large hotel with a warm and cozy feel.

We stayed there for two nights. Hotel itself was very nice, climatic - sth like in Agatha Christie’s novels, room was comfy. The only thing that could be better was the breakfast.

This 'old world' hotel is friendly and comfortable. It's in a neighborhood called Cathedral Road and it is a beautiful area of Cardiff. Just a short walk from the center of town.

Pleasant well appointed room, overlooked side street so little traffic noise. Top notch breakfast & helpful staff. Book direct on their website for better deals than the usual suspects.

The breakfast was lovely......... That was the only thing I could give a positive review for. The room was shoddy. The room door was always left unlocked after the room was serviced each day. Window frames need replacement. Mould on bathroom walls Out of date coffee sachets .. the coffee had hardened in them. The toilet brush bore signs of years of usage in the most unpleasant way. Next time we will go to Holiday Inn.

We stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 3* for a reason because there are no frills, but our room was comfortable, with a lovely shower, and the breakfasts are very good. A short walk to Cardiff City centre, and very close to the local parks, pubs, and restaurants. Staff are very professional are very professional and friendly.

Lovely private hotel in the upmarket Pontcanna area of Cardiff. The hotel is a not a modern layout, but that is part of the charm. Great staff, and a lovely cooked to order breakfast. Highly recommended, especially for the price.

Great hotel, in my opinion if should be a 4 star not a 3. Great breakfast, great staff, great location. Free parking, lovely atmosphere. This is my second visit and it was as good as the first. Just a hint, get a price off one of the booking sites and then give them a call, they'll either match if or better it. Thanks Lincoln Hotel for a great stay.

We had a lovely weekend at the Lincoln House Hotel. Ideally situated in a lovely area of Cardiff. Beautiful walk through a river lined park to the city centre. Hospitality was excellent, Breakfast was very nice with plenty of options, would recommend anyone to stay at the Lincoln. Great value for money

Breakfast was nice and the manager of the hotel was very friendly but that's where the positives stop. Room wasn't ready at booking in time and had to wait 30 minutes. On entering the room it was the worst i have ever stayed in,mould all around the walls and window sills, cracked bath and a broken toilet seat.literally felt sick when I went in the bathroom it was that dirty Luckily when i complained they had 1 room left which they did upgrade us to,but will definitely not be returning

Elegant building, great breakfast, good location, parking all good. Staff were polite but not overly friendly. Sadly the small things let the place down such as no water in room, scratchy toilet roll/tissues, had to ask them to turn heating on [Feb].

Our place to stay for a Welsh weekend with my love. Not far from the historical center and from the Sophia's park. Calm neighborhood if you love the silence. A lot of pubs and restaurants around the hotel. Service was top notch, we appreciated particularly the Welsh breakfast and the staff was very helpful and kind.

We stayed here for 5 nights. Nice big room and bathroom. The shower is a bit useless as the seal doesn't touch the tub and therefore after a shower, the floor is completely wet. House keeping is good but we weren't informed that they don't change the towels on Sundays (as they get a different company to do it), so ended up having to use the old towels that were already wet from previous use). Breakfast included and there is a variety of choices. For halal options there is smoked salmon, omelette, vegetarian Welsh breakfast (the veg sausage was basically just onions and I didn't like that) poached eggs on toasted muffins. Private parking available for 12 cars and it closes at 10.30pm or once it is full. The main road has no restrictions on parking so it's easier to park. Night time is usually full though so you may need to do a few laps until some cars move out.
