I've becoming here since it first opened in 1997 and although there's been a lot of changes it's still a good place to come for a film, bowling or a simple bite to eat. There are a couple of empty units but still plenty of food options. 6 hours free parking, when you buy something in the centre, is certainly welcome and it's a short stroll to the Cardiff Bay basin. One moan is the state of the rear entrance, rubbish and weeds everywhere!

The place is clean and tidy and has multiple businesses onsite. There are many choices on food outlets, such as Indian, Chinese and Burger restaurant. A place to go bowling and places to have a quiet drink and also a casino. The place is well worth visiting and going to see a film in the Odeon.

Up to 6 hour free parking if you are using the cinema. You must remember to put your car registration in at a console just before you go in to where the individual cinemas are. The cinema itself is almost all automated now. Hardly any staff to speak to. Only two staff taking popcorn and drinks orders. Well only one really. One takes your order and then sends you to the other end of the counter where another makes up your order. A slow stupid system. I missed the start of the film waiting for my order to be made. Both male toilet cisterns were blocked and out of order. Not nice.

Beautiful meal in Bella Italia. Lovely, welcoming staff. We had a meal from the set menu before going to the Wales Millennium Centre. Delicious meal, will definitely go again.

I love this place. Arcades are fun, but the prizes are not worth it. A small bag of sweets is like 30 tickets. Then you need at least 500 to get something decent, like stress toy or small kids toy. 750 for board games. The list goes on. Bowling is affordable. Wait can depend on day and time. Parking is FREE (6 hours). Must register. Have 3 places to eat inside (pub/fastfood/restaurant) with a dessert section in the middle of the walkway.

To be honest we used the Red Dragon Centre more as a cut through to get us to Cardiff front from our Travelodge Hotel than actually using it for activities. It is quite an impressive complex, with a cinema, arcades, eateries etc and also Capital Radio studio although I must say that even though it was all lit up there was nobody in there in the numerous times we passed through. Also there are a few units left to rot. When we booked our trip back in January we we looking to book a meal at Bella Italia.... But in the meantime is closed down. Other units are doing the same so maybe in these challenging times, rents are too high. It will be a shame if others go as the centre is a lovely place and even more so at night with all the lovely lighting. There is a massive car park at the front but couldn't say about fees as we were staying at the Travelodge so it was free

I had a great time going here when I went on a trip to Cardiff with my school! The cinema was very spacious and large, up until then I'd never seen such a giant screen! I throughly enjoyed bowling here and I was charmed by the decorations and the lights! Excellent place to visit if you're looking for a nice place to watch a movie or relax and bowl! I have no problems with this place besides the prices! The cinema and bowling alley charge quite high prices for food, drinks and other items from what I've seen! Other than that it was a very satisfactory visit!

Great place. Relatively small but there is bowling and cinema and restaurants and currently free parking for up to 6 hours which is great!

Its A bit dated in there and the kids only get 60 seconds on a game at £1 at a time and then off of it and there upset you'd want to have a good £40 pounds just for games for to put a smile on there faces if it was a 5 minute thing on each game I wouldn't mind but it's crazy for the poor kids ! Then it's 30 minutes on the bowling! Not good you'd want ahour at least in the place still looks the same as it did 15 years ago when I first went in there It needs modernising ASAP My grandkids enjoyed it but it could have been better ! All in all it passed a fee hours away with my grandkids

Works Very well as a date night Center or even a family fun night or day center fun for all ages. Great selection of food and even more selection to eat with a 5min walk outside and sometimes you might catch an event happening in the Ovilbasin like at the moment thier is a fun fair and padding area for youngsters and across the bay is an inflatable assault course in the water.

It's s tidy set up but so much there us expensive . £3.80 for 2 capri sun's? Gone are the days that a child can go enjoy themselves on 15-20 pound . ....my late granparents told me dvrn though thighs were tight back in the day they could afford to go to the cinema have snacks and have change . ......while things have gone up . I think much of it is greed .

Lots of restaurants inside, best value is the Greene King, Tavern if you need lots of drink. Otherwise the Chinese buffet is the good choice. The Japanese buffet is by the gate. Drinks are pricey though.

Perfect cinema experience (almost, as staff forgot to prepare one food order), beautiful place, clean and tidy. However as we came out of main entrance, 2 people were smoking right in front of entrance less than 2 meters away from door. Are there designated smoking areas for such public places?

Love this place. It's got different types of restaurants, pubs, bowling alley with a small arcade, red dragon radio base and an Odeon cinema, which has an I Max screen. Loads of parking area with disabled parking. Very popular place.

We often use this location whenever we're staying at the Travelodge next door. With a little bit of everything, it's nice and easy to grab a bit to eat or have a few drinks. Or use the Arcade and watch a movie with the family on those cold and rainy days. Sadly on our last visit, the choice of eateries seemed to be reduced by either being closed or an empty unit.

We visit here often, but have had quite a few access issues with my Assistance Dog so just look out for that if you go. Security haven’t been informed of the equalities act unfortunately and have deemed we needed paperwork and registration which is illegal. Highly recommend the bowling and cinema though ❤️

Went to Spice Route in the Red Dragon Centre. It was the epitome of average. It may be a buffet but for the quality, I found it incredibly overpriced. Id have liked to give 2.5 stars but that wasn't an option and 2 seemed a little too harsh.

The centre looked great with it all lit up and the grass animal sculptures. Clean and tidy with plenty of food and drink options or a short walk to the Bay itself. Free parking is great for up to 6 hours, so we bowled and had a meal with no worries.

Good place to spend a day out. Wide variety of international good food. Enjoyed my lunch and a coffee for £15.00. Bowling and multi screen Cinema are other attractions there.

Soulless tin hanger. Places to eat, a cinema complex and bowling. Fortunately lots of exit doors too.... So least you can get out and go somewhere nicer. Milton Keynes has a venue similar to this... It's called X-cape. Seems like it might be the best thing to do. Faux and dated already

Lovely happiness moments for me in the Red Dragon Centre. Enjoyed good snacks at the famous Five Guys Restaurant. Their potato chips are delicious and the food was very tasty.

  • 3/5 Glynis M. 3 months ago on Google New
A few eateries inside. The Five guys served good chips and a vegetarian bap of mushrooms, onions, cheese, lettuce and tomato. Enjoyed it . You type in car reg near the till for free parking.

Free parking, bowling, cinema, five guys, fab location, just a shame loads of establishments have closed down/change like the weather in there. It used to be a lot more popular and I used it all the time but I definitely use it much less now

Why doesn't the council invest some money in this area of the city. Really it's about time to update. There is huge potential in this area.

Good selection of food and drink by I was shocked at the cleanliness and general state of the toilet facilities at the bowling complex. Mostly broken facilities with soiled floors. If you need to use the facilities, I would go elsewhere. Great to have validated parking for customers though

Covid Guidance clear & in place, variety of entertainment and places to eat - clean and tidy, information throughout only negative from me was the Security Guard approached me in pretty rude manner & asked me why I was taking pictures then told me to stop !

Lovely Christmas lights up, very dreamy. The Red Dragon isn't perfect by any means, but if you want an easy nice out with bowling, cinema, food, pub and arcade games then it's great. Plenty of restaraunt choices to take your fancy. Empty units could do with filling so it's a little less 'lost' inside. Easy enough to go through the back exit to get down to the Bay too.

Was very quiet when visited mid afternoon one Friday. Has cinema, bowling alley. Numerous and varied restaurants. Parking free with validation from retail outlets. Ate at Five Guys where the staff were helpful and friendly and service excellent, food high quality

Half term in October, what do we do? I took my 3 teenage daughters aged 17, 15 and 12 to Hollywood bowling, in the Red Dragon Centre. We had booked it on-line and travelled there by train. The center is just 3 minutes walk from the Cardiff bay train station, but if you are travelling by car it has loads of parking spaces available including those for blue badge holders. Everything is easily accessible on one level and there is a Cinema, Hollywood Bowling and lots of different places to eat. After our game, my daughters and I ate at Five Guys which has a super tasty vegan sandwich with Grilled cheese, mushrooms lettuce and tomatoes. And super tasty fries 🍟. I would definitely recommend this place as it has everything under one roof. Both Five Guys and Hollywood Bowls have toilet facilities so l do not know if the centre has its own facilities available.

I suspect when this is buzzing with people in the evening it becomes a pretty invigorating place. We went to see a matinee, so quite quiet inside and out. Car parking - get your ticket and pay inside at the cinema. Lots of parking. Usual bunch of food outlets if that is what you like.

  • 4/5 Emily 2 years ago on Google
I just use the parking, good offer that you get 6 hrs free parking if you spend £6 inside - there's a Costa inside so we usually grab two coffees and then the parking is free :)

  • 4/5 Charlotte S. 1 year ago on Google
Lots to do in the red dragon centre, from boling to the cinema. A nice place to visit on a rainy day. There's lots of different restaurants to choose from inside if you fancied getting a meal whilst you're out.

  • 5/5 Caroline E (. 2 years ago on Google
There are a variety of different restaurants here , a bowling alley , coffee shops , a gym and a casino. The Odeon cinema are all within walking distance around the centre. I saw ' House of Gucci ' which I must say was very powerful and moving in so many ways , well worth a visit. Face masks are still to be worn and more importantly if you want free car parking , please remember to put your registration number in the numerous iPads around the Red Dragon Centre in each venue. A 5-minute walk from the Red Dragon Centre and there are more restaurants and bars , along with nearby hotels and the Millennium Centre. Cardiff city centre is a hop step and jump away with a local bus stop nearby and a 5-minute walk to the train station. Walking to the city centre will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

Good place. But remember if using facility ie cinema/or Costa etc remember to mention to staff of enter car req to qualify for free 6hr parking. Otherwise you pay.. Almost forgot myself and nearly paid £6.50 for 3.5hr approx. When didn't need to. After watching Batman film

Not very busy midweek in March. We wondered how the various outlets made any money. We thought the 10 pin bowling was too expensive so didn't try it. Easy free parking as long as you spend some money and validate your registration number.

Bowling was so much fun. When the game finished I felt rushed to eat my burger with staff watching over me to clean. Then went into the arcade and not many machines were working

Very quiet in the afternoons. Visit was to cinema. Warning - Cinema seems to have severe drain problems - very strong sulphurous blocked/leaky drain smell in corridor outside gents toilets by Screen 10.

Nice enertrment red dragon complex and food courts inx casino

  • 1/5 Antonio C. 2 years ago on Google
Services inside are nice as always. The Building management, lots less. Today I realized that all the ATM's outside charge £1.50 for every transaction. I want the choice of how to pay. If I have to pay 15% commissions over £10 withdrawal, it's a theft. Sorry but I will avoid it until you're somehow FORCING people to use cards. And I'll tell anyone I know.
