Very welcoming cafe. Looked perfect for what we were after. Modern but with a traditional twist. Good size menu. Not bad but something wasn't quite right....coffee was a little cold, maybe the plates were too big but it looked like they were trying fill the plate and so spread the food out. Would recommend dropping the paninis and going for pancakes or waffles for the sweet tooths...not bad but didn't match up to expectations.

Truly delicious full English breakfast and vegetarian breakfast. A little expensive but great quality food and large portions too! The fact that Bentley's was heaving whilst other cafes on the same street were extremely quiet speaks for itself. Highly recommended.

Brilliant. Independently owned and far far better quality food than the chain of Loungers (Juno lounge) down the road. Very very friendly staff and a homely feeling when you're talking to them. Lovely people, great business

What a lovely find...half term treat...lush food...busy and good atmosphere. One thing Is be better if they used there blender out the back kitchen maybe. Very loud. Superb otherwise.

Lovely cafe with a classic decor. Service is great with plenty of seating inside. Staff is very nice and friendly. We had omelette and a full English breakfast with coffee and tea. Everything was delicious and very well presented. Overall five stars and highly recommend a visit.

A very nice cafe, well priced and decent food....the inside has a rustic look....Very quick service, even though it was busy. Food came out in good time as well. The owner went around, making sure everything was OK, which it was. Food wasn't ridiculously greasy, cooked to a decent standard....Worth the visit if you want an all-day breakfast.

This a cracking little local independent cafe. I happened across it by happy accident on a Sunday afternoon and am very pleased to have done so. The portions and ingredient proportions are generous and delicious - I had eaten the cheese on toast before it dawned on me to do a photo and review. Very friendly as well - I will return and would recommend. It’s also open longer hours and more days than many of the other Wellfield Road options.

I don’t normally leave reviews but after our bad experience today I was so annoyed I had to say something. So we are fairly regular customers having discovered Bentleys a couple of months ago, and even took some friends who were visiting recently when we all fancied a breakfast. I popped in this afternoon with my husband, and as usual we both tried to order breakfast, with a couple of tweaks. My husband has digestive problems and things like tomatoes and toast trigger that. Also, I dislike sausages, so as usual we intended to swap these things as we have done before with no problem. Indeed we have seen other customers do exactly the same on a number of occasions. Well my husband went to the counter and that’s when things went downhill. Normally the staff are smiley and accommodating, but today he was met by a dark haired young lady who looked like there was a bad smell under her nose and she was somehow doing us a favour. On asking, as usual, to swap these items she looked really annoyed, huffed and puffed, said she couldn’t, but then sort of relented when my husband pushed it. But, horror of horrors, he dared to ask to swap the toast or tomato for an egg! She said we couldn’t, and when he explained he had done this many times before, she stated the egg costs more than the toast or tomato! But here’s the thing, we have always been told the swaps are meat for meat and non meat for non meat. My husband would happily have paid a bit extra but her attitude was so bad we walked out. Look here’s the thing, a business has every right to decide how it sells its products, and if the clear policy was no swapping, then fair enough. But the problem here was this person’s horrible attitude and the we never previously had any problems swapping. Yes this is a first world problem for sure, and it’s only a cooked breakfast after all, but the attitude is what got us, and it is so unnecessary because they have now lost two regular customers. We gave three stars as the food is normally good, but this server really needs to jump on the customer service train before it leaves the station! Hey ho.

My wife and I have visited here a number of times now. The Bentley's Breakfast always hits the spot and the smoothies are delicious. Lots of choices for food and drink, all competitively priced. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, would recommend

Had a great first experience at Bentley's Cafe. I ordered a set breakfast and a latte, the breakfast was one of the best I've had in Cardiff, bacon was done well to my liking and overall not an oily/greasy breakfast that some cafes tend to serve up. The latte was nice and presented well. They have a great menu, with lots of different food choices for breakfast and lunch/early dinner. Also they had a great choice of cold drinks, smoothies and milkshakes. We visited on a Saturday morning before it became busy and the cafe was well staffed and the service was great. We can certainly see why it is a popular cafe, and it will be our go to from now on for a nice breakfast.

Been here a few times, mostly for an all day breakfast. Today we tried the tuna salad and the avocado salad - healthier option. All round - excellent! Would highly recommend. Great food and exemplary customer service.

First time here. My partner had a full English breakfast and it was served hot and with friendly service. I had a latte and it was very nice. Will definitely visit again soon and would recommend

It’s not easy to have a table during Friday lunchtime means that the restaurant is so popular. Food is cook for order and coffee is great.

We walked 20 minutes here from Mercure hotel in Cardiff, it is a very welcoming cafe. You are seated professionally like a restaurant, the service was excellent. Modern decor with a traditional twist. The menu size was perfect with good options. Only minor downside maybe the plates were too big but it looked like they were trying fill the plate and so spread the food out. The food quality was good, very tasty. The prices are slightly higher than elsewhere. The smoothies were amazing !! Will definitely come back.

Lovely food, friendly, helpful service, clean and tidy place. Reasonable too. Hubby always gets a huge brekky and he really enjoys it, but equally, if you only want a coffee, or a small bite, the lovely people who work there are happy to serve you with that too.

Great food at a really good price

I was thoroughly looking forward to my first visit back to Bentleys after they shut down. I enjoyed the decor and modern look after the refurb, but unfortunately that was the only thing I enjoyed. The breakfast items were all of a worse quality than Bentleys of the past, and my mix falafel / halloumi wrap was tasty on the first bite then as soon as any air started cooling it, the taste changed for the worse. The chips were bland and a bit cardboard-y A can of drink or a small yazoo for £2.50 is really only acceptable when the food quality is not such a poor standard. I was also disheartened by the staff, the host/waitress gave us a tired smile for a split second to welcome us then seemed very unhappy to be working there, bringing down the atmosphere. Then when a customer she recognised entered, it was all smiles and high energy. So, there is definitely a selective atmosphere created for each customer. I am going to recommend to all of my friends who used to frequent Bentleys not to bother as it is just nowhere near as good as it used to be, and even if I were to not compare it to its predecessor, it is just a sub-par cafe to me now. Overall, I wish it was better and I wish I could rate it higher. I intend to try the place again as it seems many other people have had a positive experience there. Maybe it was just a bad Monday morning for the staff on shift.

We came across this lovely cafe last Saturday afternoon after a walk around Roath park. We had 2 coffees, one with oatmilk plus a slice of strawberry cheesecake & a vegan chocolate slice...all absolutely delicious! Staff were very friendly & accommodating ( especially when I informed the manager that the LADIES needed toilet roll !) Highly recommended, will definitely visit again ! 🙂

Fairly overpriced for the quality of ingredients. Despite the speed of it coming to my table, half of it was cold and portion sizes were quite small. Eggs overcooked. And for some reason they feel the need to put everything in separate little bowls on the plate.. Very average coffee. Friendly staff Will not go again unfortunately
