The food is excellent but service need to be improved, it takes ages for the food to get ordered and served. One of the waitress couldn't understand us and made mistake on our order after explaining 3 times. Anyway, the food is nice, hopefully the service will be better next time.

Brought here by friends for dinner. Amazing authentic atmosphere throughout the restaurant. A very beautiful, rustic, Italian feel, and friendly staff. The food matched the ambiance. Adequate portions, and no skimping on the quality either. The wait was a little long, but the restaurant was busy to be fair. Would highly recommend if you want some genuinely beautiful Italian food. Will definitely visit again!

Would give 10 stars if I could. All the other reviews are correct as it was very good food and good value. We were a big table with all sorts of odd requests regarding the food from fussy eaters and nothing was a problem.

Hands down the best restaurant in Carlow. They provide an excellent dinning experience Amazing wines, food and service. The Staff are a pleasure to deal with, very amicable extremely knowledgeable and make good recommendations and make sure you are well looked after. My favorite proper Italian restaurant in Carlow.

An absolute gem, but further more a travel elevator. As you step into Caffè 500, it is clear that you are in Italy, and to be more specific in a small town square if a village close to the sea. Their antipasti are the right start, the shared platter of cured meats and cheese it is what you would really order in a pizzeria in Italy, but if you want the full experience try the home made Arancini. Now you are ready for the masterpiece LA PIZZA, no matter which topping you will choose, the dough is just perfectly proof and so light. Before you go make sure that you try a dessert, we tried Panna Cotta and Tiramisu, although we were full we enjoyed any small bite and would have been a mistake not taken it. Value for money and affordable price. The wine list is absolutely a perfect match to the food experience. Well done guys we will be back soon

I love Italy and have been there many times. The first time I ate here I was surprised how authentic the cuisine was. As far as I'm concerned it's the closest thing to genuine Italian cuisine I've ever had outside Italy. Service is excellent to say the least and the staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. The decor is unique and comfortable and gives the restaurant a lovely atmosphere. Toilets are immaculate (big thing for me in restaurants). Prices are very reasonable. One of the best casual restaurants in Carlow imo. I'd highly recommend going here.

We went on Bank Holiday and we didn’t expect for this place to be working, but we were lucky! We had as a starter one platter of prosciutto and cheese for 1 person that had enough for both of us and then we ordered pizza and tagliatelle e funghi. It was delicious!! Waiting staff helpful and nice. Place was clean and nicely decorated.

I just love it here. The food is authentic, delicious and reasonably priced. The thin based pizzas are top class. I highly recommend the Pizza 500, Spaghetti Anatraciana and Pasta Al Salmone. The service is always really wonderful. John-Luca is a gem and always so kind, warm and welcoming to my little boy and I. He goes above and beyond. The restaurant is clean and the toilets are always spotless too. Easily the best casual dining experience in Carlow. Unusually their takeaways are equally as good as eating in. Cons- The wine list could be better and one lady with short dark hair who works there is consistently grumpy and rude. So much so that were it not for this lady I would have given 5 stars.

Can't compliment this place enough. Food was out of this world and the portions are huge. We had a party of 8 and everyone loved their food. No complaints, 5 stars for this gem of an Italian restaurant. I would recommend it to all.

I’ve traveled to many a town and have had some wonderful Italian food over the years and this little restaurant in Carlow ranks high on the list. On a Thursday night, they were packed, and after tasting the ravioli I could tell why. Looking forward to being in Carlow again to sample other offerings on the menu.

My wife and I have been at Caffé 500 a few times now, and although we haven't tried anything else other than pizza, we can easily say that it is the best pizza around. Service is always fantastic and the atmosphere is excellent. If you love Italian food like we do, then look no further, you won't be disappointed.

I had a Panuozzo Parmigiana... I cannot wait to come back and have It again. So delicious! The staff Is very kind and professional, the service Is great and the Place looks like an italian Little Village. Top in Carlow, be sure you don't miss It. ❤️

I've visited Caffé 500 6 times now and ordered a different dish each time. The food has been perfect and service is excellent. Ive brought my 10yo daughter, who is a fussy eater, and theyve accomodated her order perfectly each time and made her feel very special around ordering and service.

Best Italian resturant I have ever been to. Food and coffee is amazing. Staff are lovely and very helpful. 100% recommend trying it out! Plenty of gluten free options too.

Always enjoy our experience here. Large portions for me, so I always ask for a doggy bag. Pasta is just as good the next day 😋

Is a wonderful place to eat Italian food, all the plates are delicious, the pasta, pizzas and desserts are exquisite,. The staff is always very kind and we definitely back as soon as we can. A highly recommend place to visit if you're in Carlow.

This little Italian is simply fantastic. We were lucky to get a table as we hadn't booked. We were just passing through Carlow and definitely was not expecting such a great feed. The pizzas are so so good, the pasta dish huge and delicious. 2 adults and 2 young kids and couldn't recommend this place enough.

5 stars for cafe 500 every time from me .I was there again last night,excellent ingredients, menu, wine and service. True mom and pop Italian restaurant. Great selection of starters,. Fabulous combinations on their pizzas, Anna zia pizza is beautiful!

Excellent Italian food. Pizzas are superb but their ravioli is just delicious. Reasonably priced wine makes the experience even better. Will definitely return and next time I'll bring friends to enjoy the buzz and the food.

It's a small restaurant so booking would be essential. Great Italian ambience/decor. Good menu though limited child options. Food was very good and staff were great. Very reasonably priced. If you like Italian give it a visit!

Worst service. Food was decent but your staff or you lied about what time your restaurant closes and about a table being reserved but actually it was free. Next time try being little honest with your customers. Goes long way in respecting them and impression they take away.

This an authentic Italian eating, and drinking, experience in the heart of Carlow Town. The food is exquisite and the service is prompt and very friendly. You get a great feed for very good value. The espresso at the end was divine. Can't wait to return. Ci vediamo!
