We booked online for 2p and 1 instructor (Pedro). Upon arrival the sea was too wild for our 1st experience, so on his advice we rescheduled. He gave a brief but clear instruction on the beach and off we went to water. It took me about 10 times, but I managed to stand and surf on the board. Amazing feeling. We also booked the photographer so we have at least proof of our achievements. Really satisfied with the friendly Pedro and exited about the result. I would certainly recommend Gecko surf school in Caparica. Enjoy!! And many thans Pedro!!

We took classes with a friend for a week and our experience was amazing. The staff was adorable, especially Pedro who greeted us with a smile every morning and was always there for us. A teacher really stood out from the others, Marco. He was exceptional, he pushed us to do our best, we wouldn’t stop the lesson until we were satisfied. He is very passionate about his work. I took several surfing lessons in the past but with Gecko Surf it was my best surfing experience and I progressed at an incomparable speed.

Great teachers, great Location, fair prices! Everything was perfect! We participated in two lessons in a row on two days and it was awesome. If you want to try surfing in Lisbon, go to Gecko surf school!!! Next time in Lisbon we will come back to Gecko! Parking (€) in front of the school, with available spots anytime.

Excellent boards. Excellent location. They seem to have the best waves right out the front of their shop. The guys working there gave us tips, showed us how to use the boards and get the most out of the day, and we didn't even ask for lessons! Really honest with the wave reports as well. Use them, hope we never lose them ❤️

Absolutely loved renting surf boards from gecko! The guys who were there were really helpful and funny and gave some great tips. We were able to swap boards throughout the day to suit our needs. Great vibes

I had an awesome experience with a one on one surf lesson. Pedro was really helpful in setting everything up and organizing the lesson. He went above and beyond to give me a great experience. His surf coach. Marco was really knowledgeable and helped me a lot in the water. He pushed me and taught me a few key pointers about surfing. I would recommend anyone visiting Costa Caparica to go to Gecko Surf school and rent or take lessons.

Pedro and his team were amazing with my 8 year old son who just started his surfing experience. He learned so much and gained lots of confidence after each lesson. Their friendly ways made him feel like a “real cool big boy surfer” and he fell in love with the sport. Thank you so much, we’ll be back as soon as we can!!

Best surf class I ever did. Marco was great explaining everything in the simplest way but professionally. Even if I’m not a beginner he was able to give me some useful tips on how to “read” the waves and improve my chances to catch the good one. Moreover, the entire class was in a chill mood, he was keeping everything simple and fun. Highly recommended!

We had a surf class with 5 people. It felt very safe going into the water after good instructions and training stand up on the board on the beach. Out instructor Marco was funny, easy going and made us all catch good waves. And it wasn’t so crowded as on other near by beaches which felt good. We got feedback in the water and me and my sister had a really good time. Can definitely recommend this surf school!

we had SO much fun! Our instructor was AMAZING. He helped me gain confidence( it was my first time) and he helped my brother( who had surfed many times) to fix his technique. They are very user friendly it terms of how experienced you are. Definitely recommend if you are interested in surfing or have been surfing before. they offer both private and group lessons, as well as individual equipment rental. 10/10 experience!!

I believe this is the best school in Caparica and probably in the whole Lisbon area. Instructors are helpful and friendly. All equipment is high-quality and in good condition. Recommended this place to all of my friends and everyone liked it.

Was lucky enough to have some few private sessions with Pedro. His vibe is just in perfect harmony with the ocean. He can read it so well that you can be sure he will make you take the best waves, even when the spot is crowded. The school is right in front of the beach, which makes things super easy. Looking forward to be back :)

Best way to feel & try surf for the first time in your life. Embrace yourself and the ocean. And your coach will handle you the key to this incredible universe. In my case - Pedro, happened to be the best soul therapist teamed up with the ocean itself :) Go there and enjoy!

My 8-year-old daughter took her first-ever surf lessons here in June/July 2020 and she had an awesome experience. Her Portuguese isn't that strong yet so she was nervous but Pedro was fantastic! His English is bomb -- his personality is laid back and genuine -- and he is a fantastic surf instructor! I can see he takes a lot of pride in showing others how to do this wonderful sport he loves. I plan to get my daughter into more surf lessons as the year goes on -- and I plan to organize my own first surf lesson, too! If you are considering Gecko Surf School, don't think about it any more....just go for it!!! You will be thrilled that you did! Gecko Surf School is awesome!!

Good coaching, good lessons. Great way of having your first surf experience. Also very flexible in planning. First day no waves, but no problem to reschedule. Easy to communicate with Pedro.

I had the best time with Gecko, Dario our instructor was extremely helpful and super easy going - he was cheering me on all the time and pushed me to get better! The waves were crazy but i felt really safe in their hands. They’re extremely generous with their teaching and time. Will definitely be taking their lessons again whenever I go back to Caparica!

It was my first lesson ever and I am happy we choose Gecko School. It was very cool! I didn’t even expect I like it so much. Eduardo took us from Cacilhas, provided us with necessary equipment and useful information. Instructors were helping a lot by teaching how to keep balance on the board. So, it wasn’t so difficult for me like I thought! Highly recommend you to try surfing, you will love it!

Awsome surf experience! We had a beginners Course with Pedro. Waves were little so we could choose to go or to do it another time or day, very flexible! We got rofessional and fun teaching of the basic surf principles and got to know a lot about surfing from Pedro and his colleagues. Very cool guys! After dry exercises we went into the water and got help if needed an caught some waves! Great time, thanks alot, we definitely recommend Ghecko surf school!

During our stay in Costa de Caparica my son and I took some surf lessons at Gecko's surf school. The surf instructors promised to get everyone standing on the board after just one session and they kept their promise! Thank you so much for the great experience! I'm very grateful for the patience of the surf instructors, they were very funny, spread a good mood and cheered every person standing on the board! One additional thing that's important to mention - there were always several instructors in the water, so it was ensured that every gets the help needed to get up on the board asap. Also a thanks to Pedro who took the photo to proof that I really got up on the board! 🏄‍♀️🙂 For everyone who wants to take some surf lessons I highly recommend the Gecko surf school!
