Went for lunch today after a recommendation, the food was delicious, and loads better than most pub grub. Homemade delicious and great value. Ruth served me and was lovely. If I didn't live in Bristol it would be my local

Stayed in a triple room which was a bit dated but comfy enough although the shower could have been better. Breakfast was excellent, had one meal at night which was top notch and staff were great.

The room was clean - inside - and the bed was comfy. It did take 5 minutes for the hot water in the shower to come through - and there was no window in the room. It did have a high level Velux roof-light - but as the room was hot, it was difficult to open without rain coming in! The staff were really friendly- but the decor was not great - to put it politely!

A bit of reminiscing for me, hasn't changed much but still lovely to have a drink and something to eat.... the kids loved their menu, one even said best dinner ever... only 4* because it hasn't updated, otherwise 5* treatment...

Staff were friendly, but literally the worst sleep (or lack of) we've ever experienced in an inn. Our room was dirty (blood stain on mattress, no bag in garbage can, coffee spilled down the wall, sticky and dusty tv remote, crusty carpet patches), inch thick pillows and the comforter covers wouldn't close so the blanket bunched up and fell out. Husband got a rash from the bedding. There's also no soundproofing so the bar downstairs and bars surrounding the inn (open until early morning) made it very loud in the room well into early morning hours. They have no parking and tell guests to park a block or two away and lug their luggage to the inn. They also advertise free wifi but tell you after you sign in that the internet doesn't reach third floor. No hot tap water and shower pressure was a trickle.

We used the restaurant at lunchtime as non guests. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional - friendly, helpful and great with the toddler in my group.

Recently stayed here for a few days to visit family/friends. This place a steeped in history and apparently has its own ghost who wanders around the hotel, but sadly I never felt her presence! It's a quirky place and our room though a tad dated was still spotless and clean. Everything worked, and had a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is included in the price and you can have cereal, toast etc or a traditional Ulster fry. We did on 2 occasions have a evening meal which along with a decent sized portion was excellent. Washed down with a proper pint of Guinness! Staff were always friendly and couldn't do enough for you. It's been many years since we've been in Carrick but would definitely stay here again.

I had the steak deal with my wife. Steaks (ribeye) were first class. We even raved about the flavour of the mushroom and tomato. All sides were also super...chunky chips, champ, skinny fries with garlic butter.

Food was good but lots of choices missing from menu as we were told they were closing over xmas making choice very limited.also we were put in the bar instead of restaurant so was very noisy naturally as full of xmas eve drinkers.

This review is soley for the Restuarant and not the rooms etc. Went here for a meal in the resturant on Friday 15th Dec 2023. 4 of us dining. Rang up and booked in for 7.15 pm, we turned up around 7pm and where taken to our table. Place did not seem overly busy. Staff where chatty and friendly and took a drinks order and left some menus. Nice of selection of food, with a mix of Christmas Fayre and Traditional food. Decor is very bland , dull and unexciting, I know it is a listed and historic building but my goodness, those chairs, what can I say. Throw them out and get some decent resturant seating in, they are the most horrible chairs I have ever seen and not nice to sit on. Thankfully that is where any bad points ended. My friends ordered the Home Made soup for starters and I ordered the Deep fried brie. They all said the soup was delicious and my Brie was lovely and a good portion. Next to the mains. I had the Short rib of beef and the rest had the Turkey and Ham, I must admit, the Short Rib of Beef melted away from the bone and was a pleasure to eat. All others said the Turkey and Ham was very nice indeed. For Deserts, we opted for 3 Apple Crumble with Whisky and Cinnamon and 1 Cheese Cake, Everything was perfect , Cheese Cake was one of those odd deconstructed types, but it was very much enjoyed. Overall food was really enjoyable and it had been a long time since I had been to Dobbins for a meal in the Resturant. Staff nice and friendly food good tasty portions and resonably priced, slightly, only slightly let down by the Decor and the seating.
