Coffee is just perfect, that’s all we need after school. I got the latte and my friends schoolmates had the monkeycinno . Cute too isn’t it ? We never had time to try the food but everything looks delicious.

Very cute place and the staff is super kind. They did mess up my drink order but they were quick to fix it and apologize. The space screams cozy but not like grandma cozy that often makes you wonder how old and dusty the furniture is. More like cozy and clean! Sat at a table with a buddy. The mugs were perfect size and the pastry’s looked great! I will be coming back to try more things. But I got a drip coffee that was great and didn’t need any milk or sugar. It was nicely roasted and brewed. Next time I will be trying the espresso. Highly suggest if you are in the area.

The cutest little coffee shop in Harlem. It is so hipster and the owner is so sweet. He tried to draw my dog which he welcomed in. The place felt so magical and the vibe is so calm and positive. I recommend stopping by!!! They only have food on certain days and pastries throughout the week.

their iced teas are so interesting, delicious, and flavorful — not just flavored water like a lot of places (which i also enjoy). i’ve been to a lot of nyc cafes, and i have decided that this one is my favorite. the vibes are absolutely impeccable and the atmosphere is so perfect. one of the pictures i posted is one of my lockscreens. cannot overstate enough how much you NEED to go here <3

ok... I can't comment on the food yet, but as Arnold would say... "I'll be back." Real chill vibe, nice owner, seemingly happy staff (I don't know for sure, but dude seems genuinely happy to work here). It's a great coffee experience, and more of the eventual change that's been coming to Harlem. Complaining about gentrification is like complaints about the sunrise. You can embrace, enjoy the light, and find ways to grow, or you can long for the restful night to continue. Things they are a changing.

Beautiful and tasty place, sadly not work friendly. - No Wifi! Perfect place to enjoy a good coffee, but not to work. The place hast it all, even places to plug in, but interestingly no wifi. I get the point of making it more as a stop to drink a coffee and chat, but do not agree much with forcing it to be just a place to “read a book, make a friend, as they express it in a board! To me it even looks stingy the fact that is a bit more expensive that other coffees around and still do not offer free wifi, I believe that should be a courtesy from any place in nowadays world. Cannot complain about the coffee and food, definitely tasty, but sad I needed to figure out late there was not internet to work and payed for a second coffee somewhere else. I wish there was a sign in Google maps to check the internet availability in advance.

The Monkey Cup has a rare quality. The coffee and baristas are outstanding, in terms of both coffee quality and friendliness, making it my #1 go-to cafe. The “Down Under” is my fave. The pastries and Venezuelan Arepa’s are sooo good. The cafe design (inside & out) and music, give a warm and inviting, relaxed vibe, a haven amongst the Manhattan hustle.

Ive been here quite a few times and I enjoyed each visit. The service, the atmosphere, and the coffee are all a 10/10. I usually see this one tall man with glasses working on bar and he’s super nice and preps the drinks to perfection! Keep in mind that this isn't Dunkin or Starbucks where your drinks will be done quick, you have to be patient if you want a good cup of coffee here. I would know, I work at a cafe too!

Such a cute and friendly place. The monkey in the mocha is delightful. Good gentle oat milk mocha. No food aside from pastries during the week so I’ll go back on the weekend to try that. I loved the green ceiling with lights - very magical vibe. There isn’t wifi but lots of people still worked on their laptops so there’s a good mix of work and relaxing.

EDIT: The owner reached out to me and not only corrected my drink, but took the time to connect and that goes a long way. I live around the corner, I’ve been here exactly three times in the five months I’ve lived here. I’m combining all my visits in one review. The drip coffee is not my favorite, but I get it, they can’t please everyone. My mocha was tasty but wasn’t hot, it was very warm. Guess what? The owner was right here and corrected it. I don’t like to return drinks but he reminded me that I need to if I don’t get something the way I like it or want it. It’s very charming, and there are no cafes in this little stretch. If you are looking for wi-fi there is no wi-fi. I am pointing this out in case anyone needs wifi.

Just came here this morning! I really like the interior aesthetic of this coffee shop. The coffee was solid (got a cappuccino and the Kyoto Monkey) and the pastries were very high quality (got the spinach and feta croissant and the coconut pineapple twist). There was a wait for the arepas, so I hope to try them next time.

Today I tried a Spanish Latte for the first time ever and I'm so glad that I did! It was amazing! Thank you to the barista for taking the time to introduce me to this delicious drink! Overall, I had a great experience at The Monkey Cup! And I must've chose the right spot because even though the place is large with lots of tables, chairs, armchairs, and stools, I was lucky to snag a seat - the place was packed with customers! People socializing, working on laptops, enjoying pastries! Clearly, this is a very popular local attraction! This was a cool spot with great coffee and food options! I'll definitely return when in the area again!

This is a very cute coffee shop in South Harlem. Just moving into the neighborhood and am so happy it is here. Great ambience, friendly people, judgement free zone atmosphere. Highly recommend. Coffee is also very good!

We got a mocha and an iced caramel latte. They were delicious. The shop is beautiful with a very boho relaxed atmosphere. The music isn’t too loud and it allows you to have conversation. The service was very friendly and fast and coffee presentation is spot on gorgeous. Wish they had couches!!!!

Visiting from out of town, and made a cute little trek down Powell to try what I’d hoped to be some fresh arepas and a well made latte. Upon entering, you step into a lovely treehouse hideaway, with the a tree wall with book branches, an ivy lined ceiling draped with Edison bulbs. As luck would have it they were out of arepas but Leo was so sweet and warm with delivering the disappointing update, suggested an alternative pastry, and made the best matcha latte I’ve had in a while, with an adorable “sorry” message on it. What they lacked in arepas they made up for with charm, warmth and a quality product! I enjoyed the turkey Swiss croissant I got and will definitely be back. Oh and there’s no WiFi in order to promote reading and conversation, so if you’re coming to set up a temporary workshop this may not be your best bet. Come anyway though! take a brain break, eat, drink, breathe and then go to another dimension a dozen coffee shops with WiFi but probably not as dope a vibe! ✌🏾

One of my favorite coffee shops in Harlem ! I love the smell of their delicious roasted coffee when I enter ! They have a pretty large seating area and I was always welcomed with a smile. Good location as well, close to everything ! Coffee comes in a cup or a mug 🤗
