Great atmosphere. Efficient service and food was delicious. We got the steak tacos and they were perfect.

Great food, great atmosphere, great decoration and great style. This is a Mexicanized AMERICAN restaurant. There is nothing wrong with that. I'm not sure if the owner, chef, or cooks are Mexican, but the food was authentic, yet Modern. The authentic flavor was there, but it was also different. Authentic in the sense that it resembles Mexican street food, but unlike that street food it's not so cheap. To be honest it is some of the best Mexican food that I've had in the Area. The ambiance is great for a date or dinner with the family. The Spicy Pepino specialty drink was refreshing, and not so spicy. The queso, guac, and salsa with chips is also great. I tried ordering the carne asada tacos in a Spanish/Mexican accent and was corrected with its English/American pronunciation which was difficult to sit through. This restaurant did not receive a perfect score because the Authenticity of Mexican food and culture was good, but something felt like it was missing. However, I don't know what. So, let's just say a 4.5 is my official score. I am Mexican and grew up eating Mexican food in Mexico and on the West Coast.

Kind of interesting place to eat. Service was a little meh. Server did ok, but just was kind of off/odd? Maybe it was an off night? Not real smooth, almost like they were distracted or everyone was new. They have a nice thick queso dip for the chips and a very flavorful stone ground salsa. Serving sizes were ok, though some seemed a little light. The Callo de Hacha Tacos had very tender and succulent scallops chopped and mixed with cubed pork belly. Though the scallops were well prepared, the pork was tough and not as flavorful. I would have expected the belly to be almost the same consistency as the scallops, but no. The Camaron had very well prepared fried shrimp with a nice spicy chipotle sauce - though the cilantro was a little heavy. The Mexican Flag was quite interesting. Was not expecting the Mexican cream to be as sweet as it was, but it was a pretty good compliment to the tomatillo sauce. This dish was pretty good and decent serving size. I really liked the Tortilla Soup that was one of the side dishes. It is a nice creamy shredded chicken soup with great flavor that was robust but not overly spicy. It was probably one of the highlights of my meal.

Gonza offered an EXCELLENT experience and WONDERFUL food. First of all, the staff and manager were so kind and welcoming. We had an 8.30 reservation booked online and they closed at 9 (we didn't know and didn't expect a booking would be available so close to a closing time) and they were still so accommodating. We offered to leave and go elsewhere to not put too much work on them, but they kindly invited us to stay, gave us menus, and took our orders before the kitchen closed down for the night. I was also a little nervous about the food bc, well, closing-soon food isn't usually very good. But my food was DELICIOUS still. Enjoyed everything about coming here and would eat here again, albeit much earlier of course. Thank you to the Gonza staff. 💕💜

Salsa is one of the best I've had! Tacos were very good as well and they even improvised with a lettuce wrap since I'm on the healthy train right now 😁

Very good service at a good Mexican restaurant. The burrito is good but skip the chiliquilies. Chili rellenes was very good with plenty of chicken. Margaritas were very good

This is the place to go with your friends or family. The service is top notch and very responsive, also very helpful when deciding what to enjoy for lunch or dinner. Rating would have been 5 except for the portion size for the soup. The soup was delicious but we ordered a bowl and it was more like a cup, remember delicious but small. Luckily the rest of the meal was good portions and delicious. They also serve more than tequila and rum.

(4.5 ⭐) came here for dine in without a reservation we got the Al pastor ( tasty but which was more like carnitas with pineapple) , tortilla chicken soup ( which was delicious),and the ceviche of the day was a shrimp coconut dish. they served free chips n salsa on the table and were generally quick with service

Great ambiance, great service, good food. We saw many great meals come out, and the smells were amazing (fajitas). Portion size to price is the only negative at this restaurant.

While I've enjoyed a tasty dinner here in the past, my thought is that this place really caters to those who want to eat and drink while shooting the breeze or celebrating with friends or coworkers. This is reflected in both the prices and the need to make reservations. Still, an overall positive experience.

The food was absolutely amazing and delicious!! Our server Jessica was attentive and always anticipating our wants and needs. In love with the star lights and atmosphere. My wife and I are regulars but something about how everyone was working all together and it was our best dinner thus far.

I met a group of friends there for a birthday dinner. We all ordered something different. We all really enjoyed the food. The service was a little slower than I had expected it world be. They were courteous. I will be back for more!

Gonza in Cary is an enjoyable experience all around. The atmosphere is pleasant, the indoor-outdoor windows made it even better. Our server, Jack, took great care of us and the margarita he suggested was fantastic. The only negative was I ate too much!!

This place has been in Waverly Place for a very long time ever since the big remodel of the plaza. We go once every few years and then remember why we don’t go very often. Fun atmosphere and friendly staff with good quality food, but the price is just too high for what you get and this visit had the AC broken so it was like 85 inside and 95 outside. Not fun for eating spicy armadillo eggs and chicken flautas. The kids wanted cheese dip and a 6oz cup is $9 now 🤔. $6 draft Dos was nice and the Enchiladas Chili Con Mole was top notch. Overall, it’s a fun place to check out on occasion and the plaza itself is really great with a Shake Shack right there with frozen custard and a working AC for enjoying your dessert.

Food was overall great - minus the churros. Not much flavor and tasted oily - was a bummer cause I was excited to try them. Queso was delicious! Everyone enjoyed their meals - quesadillas, chilli relleno, and enchiladas. Chips and salsa hit as well. Sangria and margaritas tasty!

Delicious, fresh food; amazing staff and unique atmosphere. My favorite is their Enchiladas Con Mole (the mole sauce is the BEST around). It's one of our go-to restaurants!

We had a party of 12, and they did a great job. Our server was so friendly, attentive, making sure we were taken care of. Food was good...tho I did order guac, thinking I'd share, the serving size was probably 1/4 or 1/2 of an avocado, super small, weird and for the price, no thanks.

My Pastor tacos were good. The manager??? seemed good as she actively pitched in all over the place. The vegetarian tacos are SPICY! The bar tender waited on our table and gave us the hurried, bums rush out the door for lunch along with weak service throughout the visit. Wouldn't go out of my way to return.
