Very nice hotel with unique rooms and very amazing accommodating staff. They have a nice bar area with an amazing breakfast! They speak English which is amazing because Mein Deutsch ist schlecht! A beautiful historical building!

Beautiful building and setting. However, very disappointed in the indifferent, unresponsive and uncaring staff, especially at the front desk. Service is absolutely subpar. Being a BW Diamond Select Member made no difference at all. Steer clear from this popsicle stand!

It is a very nice hotel. In city center: a dinner without moving the car is a good plus! Rooms are spacious and very well maintained. Personnel is OK. Prices perfect for this type of hotels. I liked a lot

The staff is the best of any European hotel I have stayed in. I only speak English, and they were very helpful when I needed advice about things like trains, places to eat or shop, etc. The hotel is just inside the town center. Everything you need is within walking distance. Rooms are very nice. Mine had a living area, seperate bedroom, and a very nice balcony. The bathroom has a full shower. This hotel is a bargain, and just a short walk to the train Station. I would not stay anywhere else if I ever visit this area in Germany again.

The setting is delightful, in the Altstadt, and the building is an 18th century gem, brought into the modern era with impeccable taste in the décor and fittings. Reception and other hotel staff are unfailingly pleasant and helpful. The arrangements for parking (in the event the forecourt is full) are totally convenient, and the clearance of the parking charges through the hotel front desk takes out all the usual hassle.

The whole hotel, including the room, has a great "old" feeling but is still very comfortable. They have their own parking garage across the street. The breakfast is extremely good compared to the American hotels I am used to.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Staff was very courteous and efficient. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that they don't have air conditioning and I visited during a rare heat wave. I would stay there anytime I was in the region except for prolonged heat spells.

Beautiful hotel in the Altstadt, 10 minutes from the station and close to everything in the town centre. Attentive, helpful and friendly staff throughout. Did not eat at the Veltafel this time but was impressed by the menu.

We absolutely loved this place. We came for a family members 90th birthday. It was elegant and perfect. The food was delicious,the service exquisite and the rooms old fashion elegance and super comfortable. Big thanks to Sandta at the front desk who was fabulous

Great top notch hotel in the old town of Recklinghausen in a small castle from 1701. I features spacious rooms, a friendly service and delicious breakfast. Will be back.

Had an amazing stay here. If the front yard parking spaces are taken, then park in the garage 20 meters at the other side of the street. The hotel as a special arrangement, for around 9 euros a day. Room was clean, and well taken care of. Breakfast was plentifully with lots of choices. Staff was very helpful. Nex tot the hotel 50 meters or so is a nice beer garden where you can eat for a good price.
