The Nelsons is a health Centre with various specialist departments. I went to the MSK department. The centre was quite maybe it was due to the time my appointment was. I did not have to wait that long was in and out in no time. The staff are excellent and helpful. The centre very clean there is a large reception area leading to various departments. There is a pharmacy and a costa coffee shop with a few tables and chairs. Parking is available, car park fee applies.

The Staff At The Nelson Hospital Are EXTREMELY RUDE, ARROGANT and DISCOURTEOUS!!! In Fact Their Manner Of Speaking To A Person Is Down Right DEPLORABLE!!! I HEREBY DO NOT RECOMMEND THE NELSON FOR ANY ASSISTANCE FOR THE SICK OR PEOPLE IN GENERAL. I Give The 1 STAR As I Am Unable To Give 0 UNFORTUNATELY!!!!!

Always a warm welcome here. Many thanks to Josh who helped me out over a mix up in appointments, for putting my mind at ease, and for explaining things in way I could understand such a lovely lady.. There is a small cafe on the ground floor to relax in afterwards over a coffee and cake where you are not rushed, a godsend after a diabetic eye test

Lovely, well maintained hospital. Caring and supportive staff. Limited parking but there's metered parking on the nearby roads.

I was just dropping someone off and collecting them. The car park is small and parking is free even though the signs say you have to pay. Entrance is on street level with automatic doors and there are lifts to all floors. There is a small cafe situated on the ground floor and the lady running it was friendly and helpful. The cafe was very clean.

When you manage to get an appointment, you are well looked after but that is the challenge. It is now like a lottery scheme. Has Nelson's taken too much it can't swallow. I am actually sick of calling or visit the website with no available appointments- is this your strategy? You should be stripped of your funding. I pay my taxes for a so called free 'NHS' and me or my family can't get appointments! It is a disgrace.

Giving one star as can’t give none. Absolutely clueless receptionists, appointments constantly booked with the wrong nurse/doctor. You’re lucky if you get an appointment and if you try to raise that you’re unhappy or upset because of their incapability to get their work done nobody’s listens and you get talked over constantly. Might as well quit my job and spend my life here trying to get the most basic matters handled. Honestly so sooo dissapointed.

Everything seems to be a battle against the crazy processes. Waiting on the phone at 8am for a non existent appointment, having to visit three times to hopefully find an opportunity to get a blood test done (why no appointments?), there is no cooperation between the different bits of the building (all run by different trusts). At this rate my over 40s health check will become an over 50s health check.

Such a clean modern building. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lifts available. All areas wheelchair accessible. Appointments are usually required but you can walk in for blood tests with a blood request form from your GP. Parking limited at times.

I went for a blood test here and it was faultless. I was in and out within 20 minutes, it was quick, efficient and clean. I have notoriously tricky veins and the last time I went for a blood test at a different clinic, two nurses attempted to get blood from both arms and my hand before telling me I would need to leave and rebook for a different day. At the next clinic I went to it again took three (painful) attempts to get any blood. Jacqui at The Nelson Health Centre was amazing, I was really nervous and feeling a bit tearful after my last experience but she was so kind and my test was done in less than 30 seconds! She is clearly very skilled. A male member of staff (sorry I didn’t get his name) continued to talk to me as blood was being drawn which was a great distraction. I have never left a review for anywhere or anyone before but as someone who went in feeling so nervous for a blood test and had such a positive experience, I had to! Thank you.

Reception staff were extremely dismissive, greeting me with a bored ‘Yeah?’, as though an ill person is a burden. ‘Take a seat’ had no please, sir or thank you, or any standard politeness I’m used to in public service. They sound polite enough on the phone - perhaps that training can be reinforced for face to face interactions? I trust the appointment itself will be higher quality, and won’t make one feel so insignificant 🤞

I always have a good experience at the Nelson and am repeatedly impressed by the efficient systems in place to keep things moving quickly. Every member of staff I've encountered has been friendly, professional and made me feel taken care of.

Lovely building but I can't help thinking the technology used here was installed without thought of the people most likely to use it, the elderly and sick.

Met one of the most arrogant and uncoordinated bunch of people here. Went for an X-ray for my 12 year old as this was one of the centres listed on the form given by my gP. Called ahead and confirmed that it's a walk in for a 12 yr old. Upon arrival, The lady in reception said oh we don't do under 16. It's ur gps problem, they don't know. You did not speak to me so not my problem. When asked where on their website it says that they don't do under 16, the response (and am not joking): 'we don't have to'! The level of entitlement and arrogance! Not sure if the person was just ignorant or having a bad day (there is no other underlying reason for such attitude). After calling the number on their website again and being transferred to 5 different people, was given an e mail address to send complaints and compliments - till they mistreat the next one. Thank God this was a simple x ray only and hope no one has to ever go there.

The worst blood test experience. 12hours later and my arm is still in pain. I don’t bleed easily, I suggested one arm and where to find the best spot. She outright refused, band too tight it left a bruise and bleed too slow I sat there regretting my life. Don’t go here on a Monday afternoon with two short blond ladies If it means that the patient isn’t left traumatised, you listen to them.

I accompanied my grandmother for the diabetes eye screening. The nurse (South Asian, appeared to be in her 50s and wears glasses) who did the screening lacked patience and compassion towards my grandmother. My grandmother is elderly, cannot understand English and has difficulty hearing. I felt the nurse was frustrated, impatient and slightly hostile towards her. As a healthcare professional I would expect friendliness, empathy and compassion towards patients.

Had a physio assessment in the musculoskeletal unit on the 17th Jan. My back keeps going and I've had a tingly shoulder blade for a while, so wanted it investigated. He sounded knowledgeable, did movement tests among others and said nerves, etc were ok. He gave me some advice, but I thought I'd be referred for an x ray or scan for my tingly shoulder blade at least, but no. I was also supposed to receive some exercises/advice (get u better app) via email "within 48 hours", but to date (29th Jan) I haven't received anything, even though I called them on the 25th to say I was still waiting. I'm disappointed, sadly.

I had complications arising from COVID and was seen, in person, on the same day, by a very thorough and caring GP. With lots in the news of how GPs do not want to see patients these days, I was very pleasantly surprised and would like to express my gratitude. A very good first experience with this practice.

Always manage to get through to them whenever i call and get seen within a reasonable time. I've been seen on the same day if it's been urgent or within the week if it has been non-urgent. Receptionists on the phone have always been super friendly (which i have to admit has been rare for all the GPs i've signed on with previously 😅)

I recently visited here for a routine orthopaedic appointment. There was a free parking space when I arrived but it's a fairly small car park so I think I got lucky. I wasn't sure where I needed to go upon arrival and the reception staff were very helpful. When I arrived at the orthopedic department there was no one else there so I saw the receptionist straight away who sent me for an x-ray. I sat down for 2 minutes at x-ray and was called through for my x-ray. I then headed back to the orthopedic department and waited for no more than 5 minutes before I was seen. I saw my consultant and was not rushed at all. I felt like he had plenty of time to answer any questions I had.

Amazing experience every time. Large hospital, clean and airy, loads of waiting areas. You never have to be crammed like sardines (unlike in St. Georges Tooting where you get pushed to the back of the queue at the eye clinic despite arriving on time and get made to wait until you lose the will to live!!), the waiting times, even for pre-booked appointments are hardly ever long - you get seen promptly. Swanky building, brand new equipment, friendly and efficient staff. You feel like you are at a Private Healthcare Centre not NHS!! Can't fault anything, a truly amazing experience. One of the BEST NHS Health Centres in the country in my opinion. Thank you to all the staff. A jewel on the crown of the NHS. Only once I did get some attitude from the rude and condescending black lady with glasses at the reception of the glaucoma clinic upstairs (hence 1 star removed), not seen her since and can't fault the rest of the staff.

I was very disappointed with my physio appointment at the Nelson Health Center. I waited over a month for my appointment (which I realise is quite standard) but was met with no real resolutions or constructive feedback on how to work on my injury. After explaining where it hurts, I was told to do the exact same exercises that aggravate the pain and told that the pain is sometimes “mental” and not physical, which made me feel like my injury wasn’t worth his time. Feeling deflated and lost with regards to any kind of rehab or progress on how to move forward.

Always have a great experience here, easy to book appointments online and when urgent will at least have a doctor call you same day gauge if they need to see you. On my recent visit I spoke to a doctor within a few hours, had a prescription and a blood test referral which I collected and got done within the same day at the health centre. My blood test results were sent to me by text the next morning! All the staff I encountered were extremely friendly and put me at ease. From the lady on the phone, the doctor who called me back and the lady who took my blood - all fantastic. I will miss this health centre when I move away!

The building is spacious and waiting times aren't too long, it has an x-ray department and unit for routine blood tests, on specific days there are specialist consultants surgeries, worth noting that these are used as GP referrals, it potentially cuts out A&E waiting times but you do need to have a GP appointment prior to being sent for these services. Also has a large pharmacy

Have been hearing great things about The Old Nelson Hospital.. Went today 8th February 18 at 11am for a blood test. Could not get parked, ticket barriers not working, parked over the road £1.40, waiting time for a blood test was 75 mins. . . ABORTED visit, will go back to The Birches... One X for nice receptionist, who was obviously embarrassed at the waiting time... SAME OLD NHS STORY !

After months of suffering a sports injury, my GP recommended I go to Nelson Health Clinic, where musculoskeletal specialist Luke pinpointed my issue in one session. This was followed by physio where experienced physiotherapists Nick and Jocelyn helped in the rehabilitation, both tweaking and improving on some of the prescribed exercises. As a result of their knowledgable, efficient and friendly service (including Wendy at reception!) I cannot recommend Nelson Health Clinic highly enough. (Along with my GP!)

Was told to come here to collect a form and get an eye check. Form was out of stock and nobody knew when more would be available. Was told by reception downstairs to go to the far end of building for the eye check and it was locked, then told to go to area six on first floor which was the wrong department. Eventually started asking some patients and one was waiting for eye test. Was outside an unmarked door.

I visited the Diabetic clinic for a yearly eyescreening test . The staff who put the liquid to dilate my eyes was so clumsy . He dropped It all down my face although some got in my eyes . He didn’t say sorry . I am disappointed . Previously I was attended with care . I wouldn’t have him doing my eyes again ! I am disappointed ☹️
