Had a fantastic time here watching Stomp, the staff were helpful, the drinks were reasonably price and the show was incredible. So many talented people performing. The building itself was interesting dating back to 1826. Would recommend booking this place to watch the show of your choice!

Really good venue for small to medium sized productions. Has a community feel to it and family friendly. Nice bar area; and the ice creams are great too !. Very central for using public transport.

Really enjoyed visiting this venue and made a dream come true by getting tickets to see American Football on the 1st of July. The venue is nicely laid out, but toilets downstairs could be a problem for some. Lovely open concert room. Narrow Bar for congested before concert room was opened but only for around 10 mins. For a 500 ticket event, we queued around the outside of the building, but I'm sure assistance could be given to anyone with accessibility needs. No heavy-handed security, friendly bar staff. It was a really memorable evening spent here.

The nicest loveliest venue in Brighton and Hove, always a great atmosphere in wonderful surroundings, and great staff from the door to the bar and the box office, can't sing the praises of this venue enough, whether it's a comedy show a play or a live band it's always such a joy to come here. Keep up the good work ♥️

Great theatre space. Good amount of seating. Nice cosy pretty bar area with coffee and a variety of milks, oat etc. We have seen opera, drama and flamenco dancing there. Tricky parking nearby. We parked on the coast road. Make sure you have the app.

LOVE The Old Market, such an amazing venue and always feels like you've stumbled upon a secret theatre when you visit. A great venue for comedy, music and family theatre shows, I've seen them all there over the years and I really hope The Old Market stays as the institution to Hove that it is. Never change Please!

The staff are very friendly and we enjoyed a lovely evening after two years of deprivation. That said, the theatre needs to raise its game when it comes to congestion. The only access to the auditorium is via the very crowded bar. Unless you remain in your seat at the interval you will have to push through the crowd at least four times.. The fire escape doors should be used at the end of the evening which would empty the theatre much more quickly and give an extra burst of ventilation. The lavatories are in the basement but the arrows simply say "Toilets", The arrows should be marked Ladies, Gents, Gender Neutral to miminise congestion in that area. The pandemic is not over so we need to manage risk. This theatre could reduce its risk levels with some very simple no-cost measures as described .

Great venue. I hope they can weather the storm and keep presenting shows as entertaining as Stomp! Looking forward to getting back there again.

Lovely venue, small and intimate. I saw an evening with Norman cook, which was brilliant. The Sound and lighting were good, even if we were in the furthest away seats it was still easy to feel involved. The staff were good. The only downside was the bar, which is very small and whilst they had the max numbers of bar staff possible progress was slow. There’s nothing they can do about it, it is what it is. Would def watch other events there.

Great show from Mark Thomas. Offered any Tories in the audience a no-quibble refund if they left immediately. He said they wouldn't like it and if there had been any, they wouldn't. There were no takers for that offer though. We all loved it.

Attended a show where my daughter was one of the performers. Great Facilities and staff were very helpful and approachable Coffee is the worst l have had, after first cup, left the building to buy better coffee from the many surrounding café Let down by lots of technical difficulties with sound equipment

The Old Market itself was fine but the show we've just sat through was the most amateurish performance we've ever seen. The two drag act compares had zero talent and just shouted all through the night. The burlesque and hula girls were OK. Also, why did a stage man constantly walk up and down the Isles, in front of everyone, clambering on and off the stage whilst the acts were performing? Very disappointing 😞

Always worth keeping an eye on what's going on at The Old Market. The theatre is wonderful and a remarkably good music venue. Varied programme of events. The bar is great too. Also, have a look at the community garden just outside.

A friendly well run local arts / performance place. My only gripe is the enforcement of "no photography". Great place to see live music.
