Let's start with some positives: - The location is very close to bromo and you can start the trail directly from the hotel, - The staff is welcoming. But, huge downside: - Very very dirty: the walls are covered with spider webs (really gigantic, very easy to spot, it was deliberate not to clean them), full of dust. - The shower is very warm (like boiling) or cold, trying to lower the temperature, turn off the heater. On a cold night, nothing is worse than a cold shower "Finally, the bed is a boulder. My back got jammed. Hotels besides look better.

Awful place to stay. It is well located and relatively near to Mount Bromo. BUT it is dirty and old. Old is fine if well maintained, but our room must not have been cleaned in months. There was zigarette ash in the soap holder in the shower. The tiles in the bathroom were full of mold and dirt. The walls of the room were covered with grime. The bed was covered in dust and the sheets and pillows were stained all over. We had breakfast there but ended it prematurely when we found roaches on the buffet.

Never have I ever been served this slow. When the last served people were served, the first served of the group were already on top of the Bromo Vulcano. We've had to clarify what was missing for at least 4 times. The servents were always carrying only one thing. If I did this on my job I would be fired. 5 out of 5, I would stay away if you want to have a good filled day with better activities then waiting and discussing what is missing.

Possibly the worst place I’ve ever stayed and I’ve travelled across Asia for 6 months. The rooms are incredibly damp which means there is mould growing everywhere. Our clothes in our bags were damp when we left and it was not a nice experience. The bed is hard, it’s really cold at night and the bathroom is what nightmares are made of - Dirty, damp (again) and old with no ventilation. For us, this place was booked through a tour agent but i wish we had avoided it. The only redeeming features are the fact it’s so close to the National Park entrance and the barista coffee is good.

Tasteless and expensive. The food in Cafe lava hostel is just bad. I had Soto ayam and it just tasted like water with an incredibly small portion of rice. The price is over the top with 28k. We came here due to the good ratings and recommendations, but it's just bad. Inferior to the other restaurants and warungs in the area. Service is alright and decently fast. Looks clean. Prices are just too high for that kind of food.

Spent 1 night here in June 2023. Spacious room. Adequate amenities for one night. Pretty cold at night, just make sure you layered up yourself especially preparing for the volcano tour the next day. Complimentary breakfast & the food pretty good. Overall, a pleasant stay & value for money.

Stay away from this place, staid here for the very early trip to Bromo and booked due to the proximity to Mt. Bromo, this place is not worth the money, loud, smoke and old building moist smell in everything, just staied for 4 hours (checkin 10 PM/checkout 2AM), will not stay here and cannot recommend it even for a short stay

Very nice place but super cold! Floor is freezing. Don't forget your warm socks and maybe a second blanket. Service was very kind.

A very nice place on the hill, our room is higher than the rest. We had a stormy rainy night & hit hard by the wind. Luckily we pick this room for the night. Breakfast also good & halal too. We like it very much and surely will come again. Can pay by card so we can save some cash for later

We didn’t stay here but all our meals were taken here. The food was just lovely! Honestly the photos don’t do their justice at all. The decoration was plain but the taste was good. And their coffee was the best I’ve had in Indonesia! They do accept credit card, with an extra 5% fee.

We stayed here one night as a part of a volcano tour. The food is just horrible. The front desk staff recalcitrant and the wifi was very bad. The music in the cafe area was so loud you could not have a conversation. I had to ask them to turn it off so I could make a phone call since the wifi did not work in our room. The options in this "town" were limited and I suspect all of similar quality. My first stay in a hostel, and probably my last.

Nice place. The rooms are spacious, but there is no heating, if that’s something you’re looking for (since it gets pretty cold here at night.) The bed does have a large duvet. Rooms are not the most modern, and the bathroom could have been a little cleaner but overall it was well maintained. The place is also clean and staff is friendly and helpful. They have a good restaurant which serves free breakfast to checked in guests every morning. It’s also open 24 hours, and mains start from IDR 40,000 or so. Many people stay here on the way to Bromo. Since excursion start as early as 3 am in the morning, the hotel will provide a wake up call if you want to.

The location to start your hike to bromo and king Kong Hill is perfect. The rooms are dark, cold and not really clean. Found contact lenses from the previous guest. the bedsheets seemed not very clean either. The rooms look very old. And for one double room we paid 30€ with is overpaid for what you get. The area / garden for the hotel is very nice though. And two water bottles were provided in the room. The breakfast is quiet good for Java.

Lovely place to stay for Bromo trip. Standard room: The room is small, and the main light is near to the bathroom which I think it may not that convenient for someone that just check-in. Occasionally, power break down during the stay. The bathroom comes with gas-powered heater, at first, we are not sure how to operate and only able to shower with cold water (ice-cold water heated to cold water), so we informed reception about it and they send technician to inspect. Then only we realized it is because the heater is not set well, not because of broken. The room comes with only 2 big towels without bath mat, so we have to request for 1 additional towel to be used as bath mat. Breakfast: Bread, fried rice, fried noodles, vegetables, eggs etc. We ate while the food already cold, but taste is still nice. Ambient: Nice environment with good smell flowers in their small garden. I would rate as only 2-star for the room based on my past experience in other hotels, but in overall, it is still acceptable and good with the other things.

Review of the restaurant only. After a few days in Cemorolawang we can say that this place is not worth its prices. The food is basic, especially the soup which is hot water and dropped vegetables, the service is slow, and you can get much better food for the same price and less. There is no reason to order food in this place.

In fact there's nothing special about this place, it's just an average hotel located only a few steps away from the Bromo main entrance. The food was also average. But compared to the other nearby hotels, this one is quite a choice. The best thing of this hotel was the view from my room in the morning was really beautiful, but not all room comes with the view..

Pretty good considering where you are. We had this hotel book through a travel agency and we we’re satisfied. The rooms are a decent size and clean with hot water. The duvets have 4 layers, but there is no heating. The breakfast was ok - fried rice, noodles, toast, jam and some fruits.

Fascinating experience and price is affordable,, the location nearby the ticket gate of bromo national park. The breakfast and restaurants is fancy, clean, tidy. Room I booked for 1 person so it's normal thing about the size, but it's clean

One of the nice hotel in mount bromo, it has nice decorations and a lot of room. The equipment in the room is still acceptable. However, the room itself dont have much ventilation, no fan no aircon, so might feel like air circulation not good.

Clean and comfy rooms. The food in the restaurant isnt very good but still ok, one meal is not that big. We started at 3am for the Bromo tour and came back for a good breakfast, good experience. Wifi is ok-good

Stayed here with my family for a Mt. Bromo Tour. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfy, no heating and cold during the night though, so bring warm clothes! The food options weren‘t a lot, but good enough. They left the doors to the dinner room open, very cold during dinner!

Terrible place. Tour operator booked this as part of a tour but we had paid premium for a better hotel. This was really a basic basic 1 star hotel that I wouldn’t recommend. And added to that, breakfast was not at all good as all the items were cold.

We were there for a few hours, since it was part of our tour in the bromo, we didn't book it ourselves. The site is a little bit old but it is well maintained, it should be noted that it is perhaps a little poorly insulated since the cold and noise are quite noticeable, although they provide enough blankets. Breakfast after the ascent to Bromo abundant.

The location is good. Near with mount Bromo. The services are okay. Good job for making the cleanliness great. Only one problem. during my stay, the shower in my room doesn't work properly. The water heater turned cold when the heat burned 2mins. I need to turn it on and off to make the water remain hot.
