It's a beautiful picnic stop at chandauli district in uttar Pradesh, It has dense forest and scenic waterfall , very well maintained by the forest department. It's aprox 70km from varanasi, also golden quadrilateral national highway can be used to reach near the destination. Rooftops and seating areas being built and maintained to facilitate and enjoy the waterfall from close proximity. Presence of security personnel and maintained parking areas make it more safe destination families and ladies. Availability of canteen at the top makes its more complete . Overall it's a beautiful place to visit, for families and groups in bikes, cars or even busses as road to reach there is very smooth and maintained.

A variety of wild animals are found at Chandra Prabha. These include blackbucks, chital, sambar, nilgai, wild boar, porcupine and chinkara. The reptilian species include gharial and python. The park is a bird watcher's paradise, as one can see around 150 species of birds. The natural vegetation consists of mahua, saagun, amaltas, tendu, koraiya, ber etc. In terms of flora, it is a typical dry deciduous forest composed of gneiss and laminated stone. 2-2.5 hrs journey from Varanasi..The environment here is very scenic and peaceful..the main attractions are Rajdari and Devdari waterfalls, that offer a superb scenic beauty..The waterfalls is also exciting for bathing...Lakhaniyadari is a nice option also... Location in map is incorrect. Pls put at at chandraprabha wildlife sanctuary appox 25 km from mughalsarai. The location is good for a picnic in afternoon with the forest rest house there. Aboid late evenings as the area is not very safe. Do not expect too many shops and facilities around but the fall is very good and huge. Must see.About 70 kms from varanasi ,raajdari devdari is one of the best picnic spot to be visited. Natural waterfalls and water flowing between the rocks looks awesome . One can spend whole day and enjoy here. Best time to visit is july-August . Avoid sunday if u plan to visit with family because it very much over crowded . With the amazing Devdari falls the picturesque sorrounding in the lap of the Vindhyas , it's a real treasure unexplored those who want some fresh air to go for a day break from East UP region. Why here , Chandraprabha Wildlife sanctuary is on a hill top and has two amazing waterfalls Devdari and Rajdari. The view of the Waterfalls and the gren sorrounding will give you the feel of Nile river flowing through jungle. When to visit Anytime of year barring heavy mosoon . Best time : Septemeber to Feb ,Monsson has gone ,all sorrounding is green , Water fall has enough water , What to do, Carry your own stuff for cooking or eating ,nothing available for eat out inside , explore the unexplored as much as you can but on your risk , For whom For those who want to travel the path less travelled. Age group upto 40/for adventure Rest all age groups for a day family picnic. Advice, Reach around 10 in morning and explore as much as you can as overnight stay option is not there Don't , Avoid coomg from Vindhaynacha chandauli side. Come.from Varanasi side as road is fairly better this side

The Chandra Prabha Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Chandraprabha, is situated in Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh state in central India. It is well endowed with beautiful picnic spots, dense forests, and scenic waterfalls like Rajdari and Devdari that attract tourists every year to its vicinity. Chandra Prabha Wildlife Sanctuary is situated about 70 kilometres from the historic city of Varanasi. The area was made a hunting preserve for the rulers of Benares in the second half of the 18th century. The wildlife sanctuary was established in May 1957. Asiatic lions were introduced at Chandra Prabha in 1958. The exercise was successful in the beginning, with the number of lions increasing from three to eleven by 1969. However, the following year the lions were found missing. The plan was again revived in 1993 although the Indian Government is yet to take a decision in this regard. You can enjoy full of nature and adventures activities.

Very cool and calm place for picnic with family and friends. This place is natural beauty, far from city life, since it's forest reserve area there is no human settlements around except forest department guest house and dhaba. I didn't felt unsecured with family. Will love to visit again. Very well maintained road to visit this place. It took 1.5 hrs by car from ramnagar varanasi.

The Chandra Prabha Wildlife Sanctuary (also known as Chandraprabha) is situated in the eastern region of Uttar Pradesh. It is well endowed with beautiful picnic spots, dense forests, and scenic waterfalls like Rajdari and Devdari that attract tourists every year to its vicinity. Chandra Prabha Wildlife Sanctuary is situated about 70 kilometres from the Pilgrim city of Varanasi. A variety of wild animals can be seen in Chandraprabha WLS. Which include Black Duck, Cheetal, Sambar, nilgai, wild boar, porcupine and Indian gazelle, etc. The reptilian species include gharial and python The Chandra Prabha Wild Life Sanctuary is situated in the Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh and is a part of the Kashi Wild life Division. In order to combat the organic and man-made pressure on wild life, in the form of human encroachment and industrial expansion, combined with an increase in the population; in 1957 a total area of 9600 hectares was earmarked as a forest area and developed as the Chandra Prabha Wild Life Sanctuary. An additional buffer area of 66000 hectares has also been set aside as forest land under the Kashi Forest Division core area. This buffer area safeguards the core area as well as the Chandra Prabha Wild Life Sanctuary area from the pressures of human encroachment and industrial expansion. Chandra Prabha Wild Life Sanctuary is a model, natural –habitat sanctuary for the wild life found locally or migratory, in the area. A number of grass lands, caves and waterfalls in the Vindhyachal range dot the landscape. The sanctuary was found suitable to alleviate the ever-decreasing population of the Asiatic Lion and to give a boost to the conservation of the Lion, one male lion named Raja and two female namely, Rani and Jayshree were brought here from the Gir Wild Life Sanctuary, Gujarat in 1957. Though the lions were actively roaming the area till 1970 but due to the intense biotic pressure the effort failed. 👍👍 Do visit during the rainy season, it was the most scenic beauty I had ever seen. The water was falling so powerfully that the sound of it and the mist of it was very ravishing. Photography wise also, this place is too good👌🏻❤

👍👍 Karkathgarh Lake is a unique form of nature, here you can feel nature closely. This is a tourist place where you can have a picnic. There is also a toilet facility in eco park. The way to Karkathgarh lake goes through the middle of the forest. during which you can also see the wild animal of that. B...
